Good advice Adrian but I may not use it again this year. Its starting to get a lil chilly up here. Does anyone rent surface cleaners? I checked out sunbelt, I have an account there. Charging for gutters. One straight price, one hit, on gutters, with house wash mix. 2 options! (some gutters need a second hit with chems. Some need a scrub.) I take that gamble in my hands. or up my price a percentage. bid in xtra work. bid in what i expect to see. always tell the customer to expect less!

I was able to upsell the wax, gutter scrub and the brick chimney as extra etc. He wanted clear, he wanted Thompsons. Am I going to tell him he is wrong and argue. Or only offer what the richer people can afford? I think offering basic and delux services is a good idea. I can appeal to different income levels. Compete with the lowballer AND the high dollar washer.

The customer was given many options, MANY. I let him pick and choose. He chose Thompsons over ready seal. He was given a menu. And that is what he wanted. What if you were in a restaurant, and you chose what you wanted or could afford. The waiter insisted that, you choose the more expensive dish or he wasnt going to serve you at all? Sory but I'm getting the work, instead of NOT getting it.

This an e-mail I got back today! I want to do the dlx house wash with chimney wash, gutter & downspouts cleaned, vinyl siding shine, sidewalk and pool deck wash, deck wash with Thompson clear coat. I settle on 10-14-09 and would like to schedule this work for anytime after the 20th if possible. Let me know. Thanks!

I work like 1 day a week, durring the winter. When gutters are thawed enough for cleaning. To stay busy I have delivered telephone books too. NOT much money, but its a lil something.

Does anyone use powder sodium hydroxite. It seems much cheaper. All I have to do is add water? Does that have a shelf life? or even better no shelf life cause isnt floating around in water????
