  1. bottom line is people do not see the value of our business. we are one more "expense" that is required by the government. Hood cleaning is nasty hot and dangerous work. Thats why I do it.

Moneys not always the great motivator right?

I see more guys get into this business, find out that it is more work then expected and quit. Face it- it sucks being on a roof in January at night freezing your buttons off.

I have be in the game for 15 years and have seen then come and go.

The best way to stay in business is to stay in business.

Keep up the good work fellows :D

  2. What is the max i will carry? double it. You will thank me for this because I have had this problem.

Torsion rides better but springs are cheaper to fix and if the axle take a dump then its not going to take 2-3 weeks to get a new one. I pulled a 44 foot wells cargo and burned up 3 axles which all were torsion bar.

So if you know for sure the weight of your rig and you dont go over it-ever then your safe with T AXLES.

  3. What is the biggest challenge to your business right now?

i believe its finding training and keeping employees. even though we are small we could benifit from having one guy who would do a good job and who cares about the client.

What can you do or did you do to overcome that challenge?

I have tryed everything but they never stay. To hot cold wet late hard ect

I just go out and do my best for the customer.

Was your effort successful and why or why not?

I would say not successful and i have posted wanted ads in the paper, Craigs List and even got a banner. I think people dont want to work at this type of job unless they own it.

If the challenge is beyond your control what are you doing to try to manage your business in spite of it?

Provide the best service i can offer.

Where is your business right now compared to where you thought it might be at the beginning of the year?

We have lost some accounts due to what I call "management changes".

Someones brother in law wants to powerwash then he gets the job no matter how good you are. This is unfortunate but it happens. I have had some loss due to closings.

Where do you see your business in the next 12 months based upon your specific area?

Well I could say that due to the increasing rules and citys requiring more "GREEN" cleaning practices, you will see more fly by nights unable to due business in large areas like DFW.

So by having the ability to be green, this will cut down on the "buy today wash tonight" guy.
