Actually I live an hour from Indianapolis, so it would be a 6 1/2 to 7 hour drive. Thanks for the information.

Tony, it looks like the photos have disappeared. Would you have any more? I would like to see gutter zap in action. Thanks!

I also like Ryans set up. Please share your secrets :)

I would still enjoy reading information on this topic. I know there are roundtables out there, any help you can lend on this topic is appreciated.

I was driving down the road yesterday and came across a river... a river? I dont remember there ever being a river on this road! I guess this is what you get when you have 24 inches of melting snow and 5 inches of rain. Washes away asphalt roads and newly formed flowing rivers appear! Needless to say I turned around.

The water is receeding, but alot of homes were flooded out up this way. Now I watch the video from So Cal with the mud slides and everything, what an active winter this has been. I know for us it's been a roller coaster ride, 3 days in the 50's then 3 days in the 0's then back to the 40's and 50's. Rain Rain Rain, every where you look in the country.

I've had a little problems with the ladder stabilizer I bought from a local store here, I was wondering if someone could point me in another direction or a possible link to a good selection. I am looking for some that would work with werner fiberglass extension ladders. Thanks.

I like the way it looks, but one question, what if the gutters are jam packed full? I dont see how you'd be able to slide 10 feet of leaves to your ladder without them spilling out over the edge all over the ground. How will does it handle wet leaves? Thanks.

Beth, as a guest you can not respond to post, but you can read all of them. I didnt mean to open a can of worms, I was just responding to the "lurkers" thread, maybe if we didnt allow guest to view the threads, meaning they would need to sign up as a member to view them, they wouldnt lurk. As a member they would be able to respond to threads also raising the participation. The way it is now a guest can view all forums as much as they want, they cant respond, but they can view and that adds to the "lurking" issue that started this thread.

I'm not so sure about that. I can log out and view messages in many different forums if not all of them. It shows a lock in the icon, but I can click and view them all. Anyways this was just an idea, even if it wasent a good one  Mike :) 08:43 AM Guest Viewing Thread What makes people buy goods or services? 08:44 AM Guest Viewing Archives Detergent 08:38 AM Guest Viewing Forum Bargain Basement 08:32 AM Guest Viewing Index The Grime Scene

Well I wouldnt think it would cut it out totally, but it would help? There are somedays I come here and just view and dont post because I dont have much to contribute, but when I do have something I might want to add, its alot easier because I'm a member, this was just an idea I thought I would toss into the mix.

Beth, I think something that helps a "lurker" keep on lurking is the ability to view all forums as a guest and not having to register to view them. I dont know if this is a good idea, but how about just having the Newbie Forum open to guest and the others locked out to registered members. Put a sticky note on top of the newbie Forum letting others know if they register they can view all the other forums. Once they are registered that might encourage them to participate more in the forums and threads as they wont have to register just to make a reply, (because they already have) just click and type. I think this would help out alot. After all isent the idea behind the BBS for everyone to participate? You can also have the FAQ area unlocked to guest if you'd like. Just an idea.

Thanks for the information! I encourage everyone out there who even has a little interest in attending or holding a roundtable to jump into this discussion with any questions you might have as well. Someone can only learn so much from a video or book, nothing beats hands on training along with a good old meet & greet. Networking is a great business tool. Has anyone else recently held or attended a roundtable that might be able to tell us about it? Is anoyne out there interested in more information on this topic?

Beth, your one of the hardest workers I've seen out here. I'm sorry to hear about your hand, but slowing down is probably the best thing for you to do. I'm sure the PWNA will be ok if they can just get a small dna sample so they might be able to clone you? .... ok maybe thats not a good idea. You & Rod have done a GREAT job with The Grime Scene and I enjoy coming here and being a part of it. I wish you a speedy recovery and I hope you check in when you can, dont worry about the typos.. I'm the king of typos, the worlds fastest 2 finger typer, I think I spend more time editing my post then writing them the first time. Take care of yourself! Mike

Thanks everyone. Thats one reason why I come to this BB and dont visit others that often. Here at TGS everyone seems to be down to earth and always willing to help. I guess it just bothered me seeing some of the ego's out there and I wanted to remind those who might read this thread, that everyone started out small.. and if you really want to "improve the industry", belittling someone else is not the way to do it. Thanks to Rod, Beth & everyone here for the breath of fresh air. CCPC I was not referring to you, sorry if it seemed that way. I was just making a general observation.

This wand was found with some high pressure line in a garage that was cleaned out and given to myself. Does anyone recognize it and might be able to tell me what it is?
-
So I guess it's used for steaming. Dont think I have a need for it then. Does anyone out there use something like this?

The plastic molding that is on the bottem of the doorway, between the metal of the car and the carpet on the floorboard, is there a way to remove black marks possibly made by shoes without harming the plastic or dis-coloring it?

Thank you Scott & Ryan, this is for a one of our vehicles. Thanks again.

Yeah I am not up to par on metric either. Why is everyone in the world on the metric system but us for anyways? I'm thinking it's a pretty heavy duty wand, but could be wrong. Thanks to anyone who can help.

Ok, I found a few markings on the gun. I could not find a name, but I did find this... Max 170 Bar Max 140 degrees C Max 16L min I also found out a little more history on the mystery wand, it was used commerically. Connected to the wand was a pretty thick heavy duty pressure line.

23,700 people killed in 9 countries from this Earthquake - Tsunami in southern Asia and eastern Africa in a moment. WOW! Hundreds of Americans missing and bodies everywhere. I'm sure you all have heard this news story, if you havent, here's a link http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6754820 Guess it lets us all know not to take life for granted.

I heard a story of an american family in the region when the tsunami hit, A mother and her 2 kids were clinging for their lives to a pole as the water rushed by. The mother was losing grip and had to let go of one of her kids or they would all be swept away. I dont know how she did it, but she let go of one of her kids to save the other. ............. hours later she saw a man, carrying her child she had let go, the man said he was clignging to a pole as well when he saw the child floating by, he grabbed him and just held him tight until the water receeded. The mother and child were finally reunited. She was lucky, many were not as lucky. I also saw another story about an 8 year old boy who lost his entire family. With the death toll reaching over 100,000 people, I'm sure there will be alot more stories like these surfacing. I just could not belive the video they we showing... Cars, Buses, and even Trains loaded with riders just being swept away like toys by the power of these waves and rushing water.

I'm not sure if the PWNA offers a course or anyone else does, but this would be a GREAT seminar or boot camp for anyone and everyone. There's alot people that dont know about acids & bases and personal protection. No amount of money is worth getting hurt and not making it home to see your family.

I just really wanted to know what I could do to help from them turning into a problem, I think when you get 2 feet of snow, there's not much that can be done to prevent it, I just dont want it to turn into a problem as this stuff melts in the next few days as temps climb to the high 40's. Guess I need to get my lazy butt on the roof and shovel some snow off it. Is there an easier way to get snow buildup off the roof, I dont want to use hot water as then i'll have serious ice buildup on the ground. Maybe I could rig a broom head up on an extension pole... hmmmm.....
