We recieved 2 feet of snow last week, now that the warm temps are coming and the snow is slowly melting, I've noticed alot of ice dams. I even have them on my house. I'm sure I dont have any roof leaks, but besides trying to climb on the roof and shovel the snow off what else can be done?

How many diff chems does the vinegar help to neutralize? is there another "must have" for dealing with chemicals... sorry if this was already asked in the safety area.

Are you dreaming of a white christmas? Be careful what you wish for. We will have around 2 feet on the ground by tomorrow morning. It stopped for 1 hour, long enough to snap a few pictures. Another foot of snow is coming. Is it snowning anywhere else? This would be a nice thread to share some white christmas photos.

Does anyone wear shorts? Khakis? or is this unprofessional?

Beth, we went on a royal carribean cruise this past spring to the bahamas. We had a blast. They are a great cruise line. The only problem I had was I gained 5 pounds because you eat and eat and eat and eat and eat some more. They have buffets open 24 hours a day, and if thats not enough, you can hit the chocolate buffet at midnight. You can also sit down for nice meals like mauhi mauhi and filet steak. The entertainment on the ship was awesome, the islands were beautiful and we had a blast.

Thanks to everyone for participating in this thread and I encourage more of the lurkers and newbies to jump in as well. This could be a great way to find another PW close by that you could forge a friendship with that will benifit both of you. Living in a smaller town myself I could aways use another friend! This might also help us to establish roundtables and regional meetings (which I brought up in this thread here http://www.thegrimescene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2683 click the link to view it) which I think is also a great way to meet others and forge vaulable friendships. having someone close by that might be able to bail you out of a mess sometime is priceless. Thanks again!

Your correct. If a guy owns a legit company, pays for his license, insurance and can afford to do a job cheaper then you, that does not make him a lowballer, that making him a competiter. Theres nothing wrong with this.If I go to grocery store A to buy milk at 2.00 a gallon, because store B sells it for 2.75 a gallon, does that make store A a lowballer, or are they just trying to give the consumer a good deal to get their business. Milk will never be the same price from state to state and neither will PW services. Just because I'm 50.00 cheaper then you doesnt make me a lowballer. And for the true lowballers, the ones that dont have any insurance at all and do jobs for little to no money, will you ever be able to stop it, no not really. Then what can you do? ...take your time, do a good job and show your customer what they are getting for their hard earned money.

Besides the PWNA which is a GREAT organization, are there any other groups / associations that you are part of, or maybe ones that are in the planning stages that you feel are beneficial to your company?

Henrey, Thanks for the input. I kinda figured the foam inserts may not work well, but it was a new product so I was looking more info on them. I've seen the gutter covers you install. Is it a simple installation or complex? Where can you get them from? Thanks. also any one else with information or comments on gutter guards / covers, I'm still looking for more info. Thanks!
-
How about the foam pieces you can put inside the gutters. They come in various shapes and sizes, depending on where you get them from, but the claim to wash away the leaves, but let the water soak through to the bottem and flow down the gutters. Does anyone have experience with these? I'll take any information you want to give on these and ANY other gutter guards/covers. Thanks!

Use Caution Use Caution Use Caution. Wetting flowers and trees help, but bleach reaks havoc on cars and decks, no matter if they are wet or dry. Try to limit your overspray as much as possible by spraying the edges first, slowly, then you can go to town on the rest of it.

Is anyone else experiencing a "New Post" problem? When you sign onto The Grime Scene, it says there are 8 New Post, when you click to view it says "Sorry, No matches found" I've never had this problem here before and I hope it gets fixed as I enjoy reading new and current messages.
-
Still cant seem to get this to work, I came on today and saw New Post (42) ....I clicked on it and it told me no found matches. Again, this is the only bb that I have this problem.

I saw something like this on a web site a few days ago, it looked like it might be a little hard to handle, just like a telescoping wand? has anyone used one?
