  1. I was searching the bbs reading alot about shur-flo and iit seems to be the way to go if you need a great sprayer. What I havent found here, or by searching the BBS is seeing photos of a shur-flo in action, being used to clean a roof or spray a deck. Maybe someone might have 1 or 2 to share?
  2. Christmas trees.... which do you use?

The smell of a real christmas tree is GREAT, but cleaning up the mess from falling needles isn't. I choose to put up a fake tree, and light up a pine candle for the smell! :D

  4. Ladder Safety

Can I get one of those rodents? Thanks for the information on ladder safety everyone, good reading.
  5. I was on the PWNA website getting some information on the convention in Columbus. But it did not answer a few questions I had... Cost to get into the Convention? Cost of Seminars? Why all the Seminars seem to be planned atr the SAME time, not making it very easy to attend more then one?
  6. PWNA Columbus Convention Questions

Beth, I guess the one problem I had was alot of all the seminars for beginners are on the same day, at the same time 1-4pm. I realize it is impossible to attend every seminar and or boot camp, but I guess looking at it from a new guys eyes, it would be more appealing to see the "beginner" seminars spread out so we could at least attend 2 of them and not have them all on thrusday from 1-4? Just my .2
  7. Any suggestions on door hanging a neighborhood? I have looked for "door hangers" that I could possibly print my information and distribute, but had no luck finding them. I then thought I would just make flyers and roll them up to distribute them that way. How do you personally handle your door hangers & where do you put them? ...or do you not even do this? Thanks, Mike
  8. Besides the "Big 2" (X-jet & Shur-flo) what else can be used for applying Roof Cleaner to a roof from say a ladder against the house? I guess it would have to spray 10-12 feet or so? Is there another srpayer out there to be looked at that someone can reccomend? Thanks Mike
  9. PWNA Columbus Convention Questions

Found thr prices on the PWNA website. 3 day pass was 375.00 for members and 545.00 for non members. This includes seminars and breakfast, but not boot camps. As a guy just getting started in the PW business, I would like to hear from others that have been to PWNA conventions and hear if you feel the money you spent was worth it. 1 problem I have is alot of the seminars for "newbies" are all sceduled on the same day, same time. 1-4 pm. I wish they were a little more spread out so I could attend more then just 1 of them for 545.00 Thanks for the input. Mike
  10. Sprayers

is a 60 psi 1.8 gpm pump strong enough to go through 200 ft of line and not lose pressure? probably a dumb question but I dont want to skimp on the pump.
  11. Sprayers

Found a 12 volt - 16 gallon - 60 max PSI - Shurflo diaphragm 1.8 GPM pump Sprayer package with 14 ft of hose & adjustable tip for $129.99 brand new. I was thinking about using this for cleaning roofs. Opinons?
  12. Indiana Pw'ers

Ok, How about Western Ohio or Kentucky?
  13. Sprayers

Well to be honest, the only Shur-flo I saw was just the pump, it looked like you had to build yuour own sprayer to go with it. I'm not that knowledgeable in doing that so I was wondering what else was out there.
  14. New Post Problem

    Works Now Beth, Thanks Mike
  15. Door Hangers

    How much do they run?
  16. NBA Fight

Since I am from Indiana, I have seen nothing but replay after replay after replay of the mishap in Detroit friday night. I am an Indiana Pacers fan, and I have mixed feelings about the whole thing. Whats your opinion? Here's my take, I have very mixed feelings on this, one side of me says anyone that throws something at someone else out of disrespect deserves anything that they get, on the other hand NBA players are payed millions of dollars a year to be professional, and should act that way while they "have the uniform on". While I do not agree with what Ron Artest did, I understand why he did it and I support his right to defend himself. As for the fans that came onto the court, that was also VERY wrong of them to do, and since Detroit cant seem to provide enough security to keep it from happening and the ability to get the players OFF THE COURT SAFELY, the fans that come onto the court also deserve anything they get. Do I agree with the Suspensions? Yes, for the most part, Ron Artest needs a break unfortunately. The only one I dont agree with is Jermaine Oniel, he NEVER went into the seats, so why does he get 25 games when jackson, who DID go into the seats got 30 games, I think Oneil got screwed on that one. Bottem Line, Who's to blame? ..EVERYONE! It was an ugly thing to watch, and as a fan of the Indiana Pacers it's the last thing I wanted to see happen, hoepfully some good can come out of this and improvements can be made to prevent something like this from happening again.
  17. How do you like your Turkey?

Honey Baked Hams are the BEST! :) .....But I prefer Ham for Christmas and eat the traditional Turkey and Stuffing for Thanksgiving. Oh yeah, and lets not forget mom's homemade PECAN PIE!
  18. PWNA Columbus Convention Questions

Thanks for the help and the information. I guess things are still in the planning stages. I know theres still 4 months to go but I like to try and plan ahead, and would like to attend a few of the seminars and get more information on the PWNA. I'll keep checking, and if you find anything out about prices, let me know. THANKS! Is anyone else going from around the Indiana area? Mike
  19. PWNA Columbus Convention Questions

Hey Beth, thanks for the link. Thats the page I was on earlier, but I dont see anything about a price to attend the convention or prices to attend seminars if extra.
  20. Mobile Homes

I was just saying that that can be said of any area, no matter how much money you paid for your home. You cant really control your neighbors habits. I guess I just dont jump on the "Trailer Trash" band wagon. Yes alot of mobile home parks look like crap, but there are some really nice ones also. Alot of elderly people live in mobile homes, even more down south that may not be able to get out and wash thier house down and need some help? It was just an idea, I think I'll give it a try after winter and see how it works. I do respect everyones opinion on this and I look foward to reading more on this. :soapbox: Mike

Request for the Arcade, Poker & Bowling. :vroom: Mike
  22. Mobile Homes

I wouldnt say they dont have money. I've seen a few nice mobile home parks & I've also seen some old run down poor "regular" home neighborhoods and vice versa. But I also think everyone for the most part everyone wants to have clean things. I was going to run a special, one day a week and book as many as possible during that one day a week, discount the price, and hopefully stay busy all day?
  23. Day light savings?!?!?!?

Well here's a point of view from someone that lives in a state where we DONT change times, its the same time here year round (spring & summer we are in central time, fall & winter we are in eastern time) I would prefer to be on daylight savings time, during the spring and summer it gets darker sooner here then it does elsewhere because we dont "spring ahead" an hour, yeah it sunny at 5:30 am, but who's awake at that time for you to go to their house and work? Daylight savings does help in the spring & summer. As for fall & winter.... it doesnt matter if what time zone your in, it's always gonna be cold and it will always get dark way to early. It's got nothing to do with time changes, it has to do with the angle our earth sit on towards the sun. The earth is never in the same spot 2 days straight, why should we not adjust the times to keep up?
  24. Mobile Homes

Thats kinda what I was leaning towards, setting up 1 or 2 days a week during a month long period that I would be in the area, and hopefully be able to book my jobs so I could be out there all day. I was thinking mobile homes normally dont take long to clean since they are much smaller then a regular home and I could offer a discount if I were to go out there 1 or 2 days because it would save me a little money as well. As far as the water goes alot of the homes I saw did have water hoses so water may not be to bad of a problem, I'll have to check again. I'll also have to check with what Ryan mention and see if there is a Super or a Property manager that I may need to talk to first. Thanks for the info, keep it comin! Mike
