  1. How is the PWNA State Chapter program working out? Are there chapters starting up anywhere in the mid west or west?
  2. PWNA State Chapters

No we did not, I am still trying to drum up some interest here locally. Are there any plans to expand on the state chapters?
  3. How do you like your Turkey?

I like it best cold, the next day, in between 2 slices of bread with some velvetta and miracle whip! (you can also add some left over gravy if you have any) :)
  4. Beth and Rod?

    erase them ;)
  5. Should I use the regular bleach of the new floral scented kind? How about color safe bleach? :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
  6. Just double checked, Oxy Clean is a Chlorinated Cleaner containing Potassium Hydroxide: A caustic white solid, KOH, used as a bleach and in the manufacture of soaps, dyes, alkaline batteries, and many potassium compounds. Also called caustic potash, lye, potas I think I just remembered reading a news story somewhere in the past where someone used oxyclean to clean their carpets and it actually bleached the dye color out.
  7. Doesnt Oxy Clean have optical brightners.... a.k.a. bleach?
  8. Advice for first time Dad?

My wife and I will be having our first child anyday now and I was wondering if anyone had some advice for a first time dad? Thanks! :lgbugeyes
  9. Advice for first time Dad?

:D It's a Girl :D Thanks again to everyone for the great advice. This past week has been an adventure for sure, but like I said before, we love every minute of it. She is just a precious as can be!
  10. black streaks.

I've recently tried and had very good luck with BD20 cleaner which is butyl based from Russ at Southside Equipment. http://www.southside-equipment.com/ I think you'll always come across some stubborn gutters that take a little extra elbox grease with a brush. I hate leaving a cleaner on gutters to long as I'm afriad I'll strip the paint. I'd rather brush it a little then use a stronger dose.
  11. I'm having trouble finding hose reels locally that are worth a darn. Most are just made of plastic and obviously meant for residential use. I really need one for my water line. Can someone point me in a direction?
  12. Yes Larry, I am looking for reels for my water supply line, 5/8 hose. Thanks for the suggestions everyone and I'll check back again incase others also know of something.
  13. Another storm

I have family all over southwest florida, I am glad to see it weakening and hope it continues.
  14. There was another thread I started in the clubhouse about the price of gas (here's a link to that thread http://www.thegrimescene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4801) the other day and some of the comments there got me thinking, what are things we can do to improve gas mileage that could save our companies money down the road? Not only do you get the benefit of getting more milage per gallon, but it might also help engines to run better and last longer which is also a money saver. :vroom: Does anyone have tips or ideas that have worked for them?
  15. Those will make some awesome before and after shots for you fliers, webpage, or any other kind of advertising. Nice work Michael!
  16. Starting New Company

There's another success story. I think the important thing to remember GreaserCa is to take your time, do it the right way, use professional products when possible and upgrade as soon as you can. Make sure your insured and advertise as much as you can. There is so much information here that you can learn alot from. Ask questions anytime, and take pictures!
  17. Advice for first time Dad?

  18. The good "old" days

We were looking through some old photos last night and here's a photo from 10 months ago when we drove past a car that thought it was a 4x4... the reason why I am showing this photo is not to show you the car, but look at the price of gas 10 months ago, over 1.00 cheaper! Man I want the good "old" days BACK!!!
  19. Starting New Company

Greaser, I am one that happens to believe someone can start out with smaller equipment or used equipment as long as you know it takes you longer to get something clean. I started out part time with smaller equipment and so did 80% of the other companies out there and there is nothing wrong with that at all. Just remember to have insurance and try to use professional products, take your time and do it right, learn as much as you can from others and upgrade your equipment as soon as you can as it will pay itself back for sure in time. One thing you'll have to understand is there is alot of guys out there that go out and do jobs with no insurance, they dont know concrete from wood and they charge 30% of what a professional company would charge and do nothing but damage property. Companies like this give the industry a bad name and thats where the passion of others who want to see you do better comes from. I know you want to do it the right way and this is the place to come to if you do want to do it the right way, keep asking questions. I'm still asking questions everyday myself. Good luck with your new adventure!
  20. Advice for first time Dad?

There was also a report here locally in the news that they recommend pacifiers now. They say that when the baby has it in thier mouth, it does not allow them to fall in a deep enough sleep and forget to keep breathing? Thanks again for all the advice and laughs. Mike W, your son looks great! Adoption is a wonderful thing.
  21. The good "old" days

Sounds like its roundtable time?
  22. Advice for first time Dad?

Thanks to everyone for the well wishes, the great advice and all the laughs and chuckles you sent our way! :) This is definately something we are looking forward to and I am going to be there and do my part for sure. One question though, if its a girl... is it to early to put a shotgun on layaway? Thanks again!
  23. Starting New Company

While you may be able to save money by buying a small cold water machine for 800.00 to get started (nothing wrong with that) the one thing you DONT want to do is work without insurance. It will cost you less then 500.00 a year for 300,000 in liability insurance which is far less then the amount it will cost you if you didnt have it and something bad happened.
  24. The good "old" days

Well I guess its not a rumor anymore. I did a quick search and found information on the Cheverolet Silverado Truck with Hybrid. They carry it in 2 wheel and 4 wheel drive both with vortec v8's. http://www.chevrolet.com/silverado/
  25. The good "old" days

I agree totally with that mike. All hybrids look like sardine cans. I do remember hearing a rumor that Chevy might come out with a hybrid truck, but then again, who wants to drive a chevy?? :D :D :D :D
