1. Looking for trailer rig?

We build all of our own trailers. I'd go to the trailer manufacture in your area. Tell him the budget you have, then have at it. Some people use a wood floor. I am sure there is good reason for it. One is the price. Take into consideration that you will need to replace that wooden flooring on day vs diamond plate steel that will last a life time if painted well. Also make sure you get trailer tires and NOT car or truck tires. This is a big mistake with rookies or someone who wants to go too cheap. Axles, spring or rubber ride. I would go with the dexter axle. Great warranty, great product. If you need more information, call me. I will be happy to help you.

A great place to read up on the latest.... Love the website !
3. Poll: What type of pressure washing rig do you use?

Bio Degradable Detergent and the products that we remove from the DEEP Cleaning of the surface of the garage. To many to list here. According to the lab test that we did some years ago from the run off of a Parking Garage and of a Drive Thru, the product that was removed from these types of cleanings can cause damage to the paint and especially to our Childrens Environment. Here is the link of a video showing that this stuff should be reclaim and filter, then disposed of into the POTW system with a permit. This is also true for ALL Drive In's that are located at Burger King, Mc Donald's, Jack in the Box, Chick Fillets, KFC and any other drive Thru's. I know Tony you have expressed reservations about this and I am afraid that I will not be able to discuss this with you on this BBS so you do not need to respond to me for an answer. However, If anyone would like to discuss this in detail, please call me at my cell. Leave a message and I will call you back when I have some free time. Thank you
4. Unreliable pressure washer

How True Russ. The first rig we built back in 2005 and later sold, is still running with what I heard, no issues except for the reg maintenece...Oil changes, radiator flushes, hydraulic filter changes, etc. Even the 16 ply 17.5 inch tires ( Load range G) are still on the unit. Trailer has no rust anywhere on the unit. All wiring was enclosed in metal harness when possible.
5. Poll: What type of pressure washing rig do you use?

We also have another 3.8 liter 4 cyl Kubota Turbo Diesel Engine, computer controlled Trailer. Specs are 14 GPM at 4,000 psi with twin 3/4 inch coils 300+ ft long 1.5 mil BTU Burners. All trailers are Powder Coated to 10 mil or thicker for chemical resistance. Suspension is Torflex springLESS with 17.5 inch 16 ply tires. Hydraulic systems on the above trailer and this one. We are also building a MOTORIZED 7 ft wide surface cleaner. ANOTHER Filtration unit is also built for this unit. It is our smallest filter of the three filtration units. It is over 25 GPM flow with a 12 kw perking power plant whisper quite generator.

7. New Trailer and Lettering!

I think it look very professional. I like the Black background. It catches my eye and I think thats what counts ! Colors mean many things Here are a few meanings from Color Psychology I have studied., But for this thread I copied some from definitions from this site http://www.digitalskratch.com/color-psychology.php Black is also a very powerful color that also portrays one of class elegance and wealth. Also death or the act of concerning. Verdict still out on that one. LOL White is often associated with being pure, clean, fresh and good, though it is over used in my opinion because of those service trucks for Sears repair guys or Ambulances Yellow is the brightest color to the human eye. It represents youth, fun, happiness, sunshine and other light playful feelings. It is a cheerful energetic color. On equipment it can represent Caution, or heavy equipment used. Caterpillar uses a Yellow in their line of equipment. Yellow also means friendship. Red is a very strong color. It is a noticeable color that is often used on caution and warning signs. It is often associated with stop or "beware". It’s a hot color that evokes a powerful emotion of passion, lust, ***, Love, energy, blood and war. Red is a good color to use for accents that need to take notice over other colors Blue is a cool calming color that shows creativity and intelligence. It is a popular color among large corporations, hospitals and airlines. It is a color of loyalty, strength, wisdom and trust. Blue has a calming effect on the psyche. Blue is the color of the sky and the sea and is often used to represent those images of peace.
8. Should pressure washing companies be licensed???

I think anything to get the low ballers out of a terroity is always good. In 1989 low ballers was dropping the prices down to 1.5 cents a foot or less here in N. California. In some states, people boast that they get these large contracts, but lately, only to find out that they are only making a 10% profit or less due to these low ballers. Why can't our industry make what we are all worth? Most Janitors make more cleaning toilets with an investment of a toilet brush and some cleaner than what I see what our industry is making on some of the boards.
9. Vax Jet Trucks are used for runways and other issues. They can get up to 10k and over 10 GPM. They include filtration at about 250k or a 6k monthly lease at the time I looked at them. Here is a PDF file. For those who want to learn basic filtration, take a look... LEARN, then go and build it and make some money. http://www.vactor.com/pdf/00075Vaxjet.pdf I have also seen water jets at 40,000 psi as a means of cutting through concrete and steel. Water is powerful !
10. Hydro Tek's are GREAT Machines. Everyone I know who has one loves them.
11. Allot of manufactures have good machines. It is simply what you expect from the manufacture that will determine which one to buy. Fittings and the Boiler is usually where they go a little cheaper. Check for the BTU's and the brand and model of the Burner. If you are removing oil, grease or even gum, then heat will be your interest with pressure being a consideration. If you are doing grime, dirt or rinsing, then a bigger GPM pump, lets say over 7 GPM, will be your friend. We clean Parking Garage Decks / Structures, so we have a high BTU to GPM ratio. About 186,000 BTU's per GPM is the ratio for us. The average pressure washer is about 110,000 BTU's per GPM. Your needs maybe different for your line of work, but consider this: It is always nice to have that extra Pressure, Heat or Volume of Water in a pressure washer in any type of cleaning that you may specialize in. You may not need to use it, but if the need arises, you have it.
12. How much liability insurance do you carry?

Still at 10 mil. We also make sure ours covers for any water damage the day after we leave. As many know, water damage may not show up for days. I have seen some policies that specifically states no coverage for water issues., however there policy is very cheap. I always ask my insurance agent to list " What is NOT covered?". I could care less what is covered.
13. John, I left you a voice mail on how to correct the issue for a Parking Garage.

16. So am I going through that Mid Life thing ....

Tony, I remember that I was talking to you about buying a 2010 LEXUS GS 350, 2010 LINCOLN MKS or the 2010 BMW 5 series for my wife. You had a very strong opinion about the Japanese and American cars. I am sure you remember talking with me about it. So in a year or so, what changed your mind ?
17. So am I going through that Mid Life thing ....

Question... Is the 20 grand worth the extra performance, from speed, traction etc. if it is illegal to take the car to one third of it's potential ?
18. So am I going through that Mid Life thing ....

So lets ask this again......
19. So am I going through that Mid Life thing ....

They BOSS 302 gets upgrades as well..... from brakes, to suspension, to HP !. 444 HP !, Yes that is 200+ HP lower then the Shelby GT 500, but the Shelby is also 20 grand more. Question... Is the 20 grand worth the extra performance, from speed, traction etc. if it is illegal to take the car to one third of it's potential ? One thing for sure, this would be a bad ass Mustang !
20. So am I going through that Mid Life thing ....

Here is one, Just out, Mustang introduces the NEW Shelby 500 Mustang.... They bolted on a new Eaton TVS Series 2300 supercharger (the same supercharger GM uses on LSA and LS9 engines) to the 5.8-liter mill. Add in a larger cooling fan, a higher-flowing intercooler pump, and a larger intercooler heat exchanger, and you get the GT500's 650 hp and 600 lb-ft of torque, and a top speed north of 200 mph. !
