Thats a good looking car. I need something that my clients can also get in or the family, if needed. This of course will NOT be a family car, just a " Just in case pick the kids up" car. This car will be for ME ! I will have a Stick, no auto here. Had a Merc Capri 5.0 (302) red-line at 6,000 RPM's. That was big in the day. Ate Camero's for lunch. I luv that car. I could whip a 180 U turn going 55 mph in a single lane. Girls, fast cars, party,..... waking up in a girls bed and not remembering how you got there or even who she is, praying that as she turns around, that she was a babe! Thank God, I never regretted those moments.... LOL Oh thats BAD! Sorry Girls. -

YOU ARE SOOOOOOO RIGHT ! I LOVE AUDI'S ! We had the Touareg ( Yes, not an Audi, but close.... a VW ). It was one of the best handling SUV's according to Road & Track.. Built heavy, built right ! But then the wiring harness for the left head light went out $3,000. Then the seat would not retract $1,500, then the air bags warning light $3,500 all in the 6th year, and just out of warranty. Hey, but there was nothing wrong with that 4.2 liter V-8. Of course the 8 quart synethic $130 dollar oil changes was a bit steep. So let me tell you a story... My wife and I was coming home from San Diego. She wakes from from a 2 hr nap. She asks, where are we, I say about 2 hours from SF. She says, why you going so slow, I say, Honey, I'm going 115 MPH. She say, oh my God slow down. So I slow down to 75 mph, she says oh this is just too slow. We agreed to go at 90 mph. And the thing is... NO Tickets ! -

Best way to mount two pumps to one engine
Jim Gamble replied to John.Harper's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
We have been using Kubota Japanese Diesel's since 1989. Our first engine was the D950. Our latest engine is computer controlled with the Kubota 3.8 liter. I believe it is Kubota's biggest engine. In 2013 is our next scheduled build. This build may require something a bit more, so we are looking at Cummins for their QSB45 series found here at http://www.cumminspowerproducts.com/PowerUnits/Diesel/T3/QSB45/QSB4.5-T3Brochure.pdf Though this build is still on the drawing boards and some aspects are being checked by computer for performance and reliability issues, it may have a, or perhaps some, vacuums on this rig... hint. This build, as with the rest of our units, will be solely designed for large cleanings such as parking Garage Cleaning, parking garage structures and or Parking Deck Cleaning...... Jim Gamble Parking Garage Cleaning Specialist for 23 years We use Specialized Equipment and Filtration for Parking Structure, Parking Garage and Parking Deck Cleaning Our equipment is NOT for sale -

Bringing back those talks from *** in 2008/2009 when others just could not accept this kind of talk. **3/8 hose vs 1/2 inch hose for those who use higher GPM pumps and / or to prevent heat and pressure lose in a hose that needs to have a longer run then 50 or 100 ft. Also by having a larger hose, you put less stress on your pump, thus your pumps will last longer IF MAINTANED AND NOT OVER REV. For example, our pumps have lasted over 17 years without an overhaul. On the same token, recently our newer pumps that are 7 years old was over rev because of the hydraulics was set to 3600 rpms. Human error. One of the two needs to be repaired. ** 170 degrees VS 350 Degrees for removing oil and stains in concrete. (Remember when you and I looked that up Nigel, Oil break down at 250, synthetic breaks down at 300 degrees, thus the reason for us to use 300+ degrees in our everyday 5 step process) ** And of course.... what type or how large of a filtration would be needed for a large parking structure. Its funny how these subjects just go round and round again. Oh, before I forget..... Hey Nigel, Dec is the month that we are all planning to meet for the gathering of the private informational and demonstration of the advance Filtration 801. This will be held in a Parking Garage Setting for the days specified previously. It will be held at the 1st location West of Texas as planed with no charge to attend expect for your personal expenses, air, hotel, food, etc... Some of us are going to stay at the Marriot Resort. The first round is on me!!! Better get those tickets ready.... Call me to discuss. The trailers will be ready by this time. Got to go, have 5 more garages to do and not enough time to do them. I know I am going to leave money on the table... I HATE THAT. Hopefully I can push two of them into January. I hope I spelled or typed everythin g correctly.. Everyone knows my controls in that area still are not turned on. -
Congradulations to jim gamble on his recent appointment with pwna

Just got your voice message Ron, Thanks for your support in my new position. I heard that you gave your support and influence to the powers to be on my appointment, saying that I would be a good choice for the western USA. I know that through your numerous and lengthy calls to Robert and to the Board members of the PWNA, that they well received your recommendation on the matter. Again, Thanks for you support. -

Funny you should mention that John.....I have already received a few months ago, inquires for public speaking on this matter from My State officials both in the LA area and the State Capitol, Sacramento. We have also been contacted by several magazines for articles on this subject of reclamation. Just published our 7th article in 19 months on Parking Garage Reclamation which brought in positive feedback for our industry about the in depth articles. The latest article was addressing how to determine if the contractor is compliant with your local laws. This was received VERY well in the Parking Industry. I have again been approached to write a sequel, though I do not know if I have the time. You and I have Ron ********** to thank for all of this. Back in 1999, Ron ********** was the one who suggest that since I feel so strongly about reclamation of Parking Garage runoff, that I should write “ Reclamation Articles for the Industry”. Though I think he was smiling when he said it, he couldn't, especially at that time, realize the positive impact these articles have had on my company and the industry. Thanks Ron ! Reclamation, as I have stated back in early 1999, is bringing in big bucks to our industry. Contractors in the Eastern United States who before was making $6,000-$8,000 a Parking Structure, have figured out how to market reclamation correctly thus are bring home over 100k per location as well as big bucks in other fields over the ones who wash for 2 cents a foot without reclamation and may be dumping the Class II Waste illegally. According to SGT Walsh and the authorities here in California that I have spoke with, only a well established National Org will have any possible chance to curve the powers to be, their thoughts, and the enforcement that follows those thoughts. One single man will not accomplish any long lasting BMP’s. I am talking from experience, from a time before most contractors every had the thought of reclamation or for that matter, wasn’t in business in 1990. Who am I talking about? I am talking about myself and my efforts back in 1990-1991 and the multiple 9-16 man meetings from multiple GOVERNMENT agencies that went with it. If any one man or woman promises you differently without the support of a NATIONAL ORGANIZATION behind him or her, I would rethink the possible influence he or she may have with multiple government agencies across this great country of ours. -

I am talking a straight shot from 2001 to 2010. Tell us how you started professional

How many professional pressure washers out there, on these boards, have at least 9+ years of continuous pressure washing service. That is, professional companies that serve residential or commercial pressure washing FULL TIME out in the field. Part timers, those who closed to try something else, then came back, I am sorry, but those stories is not for this thread. This is for those few who stuck it out, went out there to make it work full time. Struggled through thick and thin. Made those hard tuff choices. Made the right marketing choices to succeed in this recession. Who are you? Tell us your story. Here's ours.... We are celebrating our 21st year full time in the field of Parking Garage Cleaning. We started in 1989 with 15k and broke even the first year and was living in a 525sq ft apartment. Back then, we got just under 2 cents a sq ft with no reclamation. Now we are at .24 cents with full reclamation and are booked 80% for the next several years. Note: To the guys who call for help in the Parking Garage Cleaning field, please call between 11am - 1pm or after 10 pm. Drys wells are being pulled all over the State of California because... THEY DON"T WORK. The tanks are usually made of thin galvanized steel that needs to be supported by its surroundings. Sanford and UC Berkley did a study that they leak their containments into the soil over time, eventually reaching the underground water ways and polluting the soil. It is only a matter of time before you will see all states pulling their units up.

Need Help With New Trailer Set-Up!
Jim Gamble replied to metcalfec's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
I agree with Scott on this. You never want to " Starve" your pumps. For 21 years, we have always used 2 inch pipe from the tank down sizing to 1 inch to a reducer sleeve to our pumps. We also use a 2 inch filtration unit as well BEFORE the reduction. Reason, less restriction especially if the filter is particle clogged. Those smaller SS Screen filter elements are more flimsy as well. Spending a few dollars will give you better performance and longevity for your system. -
We Are THINKING about building a Toy Hauler for our larger equipment
Jim Gamble posted a topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
I am wondering if any guys out there have information where to buy accessories for the Toy Hauler industry. I also would like anyones thoughts on the designing and / or add-ons for this type of trailer. We are thinking on BUILDING a 20,000 lbs GVW "TOY" type trailer. It will have 8 inch I beam frame with 4 inch " C " channel cross members every 10 inches. The (2) Steel Ramp Door entries, one on the side the other in the back, will have a 10,000 lbs rating and will be powered up and down with a flick of a switch. All uprights will be powder coated to prevent rust. No wood / Plywood will be used. Flooring will be in Diamond Plate 1/4 inch steel with 7,000 lbs SS "D" rings inset into the flooring every 2 feet to hold equipment. The length will be at least 24 ft. long not counting the goose neck and a inside height of 9 ft with a lowered suspension. The tires will be the 16 PLY Steel Belted. Rims will be 1/2 inch thick steel rims powder coated. Wheel size will be the standard 17.5 inch rims. The unit will have insulation and a 10,000 watt generator with sleeping quarters. We currently have 2 motorized units for Garage Cleaning that are very heavy and may build another one this year. Each unit is about the size of a sub compact car. This trailer will house those units to and from the job site. The Living quarters will be for sleeping/ resting on the site. We are thinking of a small buffet style kitchen, though it is unlikely. Any thoughts ? Jim Gamble Crystal Cleaning Company LLC Serving California, Oregon and Washington www.GarageCleaning.net 510-612-0437- 48 replies

We Are THINKING about building a Toy Hauler for our larger equipment
Jim Gamble replied to Jim Gamble's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Look it Ed. I know you want to make points here. That is fine with me. The fact is I would of been happy to show you how to apply these loop holes for your trucks. Not a problem. We are here to help each other, not back stabbing each other by talking to your clients behind ones back. Something I have never done before to a contractor that I knew. Nor have I ever used someones photo's saying it was my work. Just not me. Again, I will be happy to show you how I did it. Let me give you an example. I went and applied for permits for an addition to one of our homes. We wanted to build a carport. The city said " How far from the fence line" I said about 3 feet. This lady said " No Way" the law states 5 feet. I asked to see the law in the city book. She got all bent out of shape saying that she has been doing this for years. That she new the law. I asked politely if I could just see it for myself. She opened the book, turned to the exact page in no time at all. She went and read it to me. I again asked if I could read it for myself. Again, she gave me an attitude. My purpose here was for the paragraphs before and after. You see, I was looking for exceptions to this law and I found it... on the next page. The law clearly stated 2 exceptions. 1. Stairs 2. Porch I looked up the definition on a porch on my phone: A porch (from the Catalan word porxo)[1] is a structure attached to a building, forming a covered entrance to a vestibule or doorway.[2] It is external to the walls of the main building proper, but may be enclosed by screen, latticework, broad windows, or other light frame walls extending from the main structure. I quickly stated that I was mistaken and that this was a drive thru porch, not a car port. Though I call it a car port, it is by definition a porch. I got my permits. Funny thing here, my neighbor wanted to do the same thing a few years ago. He told me, like you are doing now, that I was dreaming, that he new the law, that I was mistaken just like you are doing now. RESULTS: I got my porch..... I got my fleet to get passed by several smog stations. Some trucks having over 600+hp. Though you may be right in your quotes, there are always exceptions. I would of taught you that, but you did not want to listen. To bad. And please, refrain yourself from making comments on a BBS to me in a derogatory manor. I do not treat you in that manor and I expect the same from another professional contractor as well. It is simply not professional.- 48 replies
