PWNA is the first Mobile Washing ORG to offer Health Insurance Program
Jim Gamble posted a topic in PWNA News, Events, and Information
When I was asked if I could come on as a PWNA BOD, I wanted to give back to my fellow members...to help them save real money through benefits that I may be able to acquire as a NON Profit ORG.Benefits that would possibly be closed to other organizations. Organizations such as "Personal Profit" Companies that have paid members or "For Profit" Orgs. But what could I do to make our NON Profit Org better? So I decided to give back in an area that I am good at....that is, discounts on the things we as contractors use the most and getting those discounts thru the NON Profit status. In the few months since, I was asked to put a website committee together and build the best possible website that would benefit our members. I believe we did just that with over 350+ Web Pages. This was, and still is, a huge undertaking, but necessary to represent all members within the PWNA. I was also asked to put together a benefit package that our members could really used, both seasoned contractors and the newbies. So I set out to do just that. With the help of the benefit committee, we brainstorm what we thought would be a beneficial program to our members. Sure, it came up that we could flood the site with hundreds of benefits that most would not or could not use for one reason or another. But instead, we took a different approach. I recently heard about discounts that really are not discounts throughout the web. We did not want this. We wanted real and usable benefits that provided real savings that I could not get on my own without a NON Profit Org using their status as a non profit enabling and supporting the discounts behind them. Here is just a few of the things that are already available to our members. PWNA is now offering to its members a new Health Insurance Program. THIS IS A FIRST ! Open enrollment ends March 31st, 2014 This has never been accomplished before by any org. PWNA used its NON Profit status to obtain Benefits. This new outlook on the PWNA is a real eye opener. New REAL Benefits are coming down the line. We are also working on Business Liability Insurance that, through testing the system against J. W. Insurance. The PWNA Benefit of Insurance program, appears to be cheaper than any other discounts advertised on the web. This insurance also does not exclude water damage in the verbiage of the policy. That's right, some Business Insurance policies made for us pressure washers have a clause that may exclude certain types of water damage claims. We wanted to make sure that was not the case with the PWNA membership. This AAA Insurance appears to be cheaper than anything you can find on the open market and we are currently testing the market in several states. So far, we have beat ALL insurances on the market, even with advertised Web Discounts in place. We need more contractors to confirm that the program is cheaper in ALL 50 states. So please, call 800-393-PWNA to get into this great Benefit Program.. Already the phones are off the hook. New members are joining daily....YAHOO ! Health Insurance Program.... I personally went through the program with my health insurance. Afterwards, i end up saving $800 a month. I have the same Doctor, same Hospital, but my co pay / deductible went from 1,500 a year to 500 a year. So this was better insurance, yet I am saving $9,600 a year ! Another member tried it and he is saving almost 5,000 a year from his current health insurance. These are real savings and more then pay for membership alone....But wait...theres more.... We are working on Dental Insurance as well. Yep...that's right Dental Insurance !!! We also have Life Insurance too online as well. But what about Hotels....hows up to 40% off Hotels .com pricing. What about those who are paying for a web presence of $30 to $40 a month...How would you like NOT to pay that? Well how about a FREE webpage that you design, you manage, you load your photos, video and wording. How about it be completely searchable with Yahoo, Google, Bing and other search engines. All of this with you paid membership of $349.95...so If you was to pay $30 a month for a web page lets see....30x12= $360. PWNA Membership is $349. Just this FREE feature pays for your membership. So Health Insurance for you and your family could save you thousands....Web design page could save you hundreds... What more you ask.... Here is a hint....What if you could get a discount on the items you use most in your business? What if you could get travel expense discounts? Need a qualified seasoned attorney? Not those prepaid legal services that are worthless, but a attorney that you can work with you and your issues if needed? What if you can get that too at a discounted rate? How's FREE Business checking with a real "brick and mortar" Bank, not those faceless internet banks? Oh there is so much more.....- 2 replies

To the PWNA BOD's incl. Jim Gamble & Nigel Griffith-- Congrats!!
Jim Gamble replied to John T's topic in PWNA News, Events, and Information
Thanks Beth and John ! Both Nigel and I was surprised that the Bod asked us to serve as well as asking both of us to teach a class at the PWNA Convention on Parking Garage Cleaning with filtration. Nigel taught about the different filtration units out there and why one " Type or design" of filter is best over another especially when used for filtering a drive thru vs Parking Garage Cleaning. I then taught for 2 hours which really went for another 30+ minutes on top of that. So many contractors wanted to learn more then I could provide in the 2 hours allowed. The class was well attended by many experience seasoned contractors, some cleaning as many as 200 garages in a year. These seasoned contractors wanted to learn how we have been deep cleaning Parking Garages environmentally correct for over 25+ years while demanding top dollar for our services. I want to thank the PWNA members who attending the convention. It was a huge success ! Thank you ! Some have asked about the 2014 Parking Garage Cleaning Event. Yes we are working on a location that will be favorable to almost everyone... LOL I am sure that someone will be upset, I just cannot please everyone all the time. In the 2014 Parking Garage Cleaning Event, we will teach the different types of cleaning from Spot Cleaning working while using very limited water ( 700 gallons or less) with a (1) man crew, all the way to the other side of deep cleaning environmentally with a crew of 14 or more men. If this location is approved by the committee, I think many contractors will be very pleased about attending the event. Again, Thanks goes out to everyone at the 2013 PWNA Convention, especially to those who gave me kind words of encouragement and support. Again...Thanks ! . -
Who needs a vacation and where are you going this summer?
Jim Gamble replied to John T's question in The Club House
Amsterdam. Had a really good friend from there. He and I attended YWAM in Hawaii in "82. Really nice guy. I always wanted to go their to visit him. Just got busy. We will be going somewhere, just not sure yet. Location depends on wife. I vote for Europe, specifically...the Azores, Kids want Cancun or Los Cabo. Wife wants ...well, that's the question. When she decides...that were we will go...LOL You see, in my house of 4, everybody gets one single vote to decide where they would like to go on vacation. However, the Wife get veto privileges along with her single vote counting as 5 votes. LOL. If the wife an't happy, nobody is happy ! LOL -

California coffers contain about $4.5 billion more than expected
Jim Gamble posted a question in The Club House
This just proves how fast California can raise money. California is a great state and I see so many cars from Arizona, Nevada, and some southern states. The are here because of opportunity of making money. You can read about it here.... http://articles.latimes.com/2013/may/02/local/la-me-state-budget-20130503 Google is also spending millions in new office complex... http://www.vanityfair.com/online/daily/2013/02/exclusive-preview-googleplex California is growing again, Housing has also gone up. My home went from 225,000 at a all time low, to just being appraised at 420,000 in just 8 months. Our rental properties also went up accordingly. Freeways are being upgraded from 2 lane to 8 lane, Bart is being expanded to over 25 ( +/-) miles.... over a Billion dollars have been spent in my 15 mile radius alone and 8+ Billion just for the expansion of Bart alone. What does this mean for the country, if the 8th largest economy increases, the rest of the country will follow.- 5 replies

California coffers contain about $4.5 billion more than expected
Jim Gamble replied to Jim Gamble's question in The Club House
Housing reports show housing has slow down nation wide, but not for San Francisco. SF was the most competitive market in the nation with 87.9% of homes up for sale having competitive bidding, thus driving homes sales up about the asking price. California is just one of many, but with Google reinvesting, Hp investing as well in California, New highways being built, new bridges and new housing tracks being developed and the tightening of the spending, you can see why homes are rising. People from Arizona, Nevada and even cross country are flocking to California. My Nephew just landed a job for $89k. His 25 yrs old and moved here from outside the country. He had 23 offers, about 1/3 from the east and southeast coast. Once California, who is the 8th largest economic power in the world, gets moving, the rest of the nation will follow. California coffers contain about $4.5 billion more than expected
Jim Gamble replied to Jim Gamble's question in The Club House
I think that California is growing again. California is building a new Bay Bridge...Almost ready to travel on... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Francisco%E2%80%93Oakland_Bay_Bridge Below you can see both bridges in the back-view. This was taken at my Round-table held in San Francisco. We all went on a 52 foot sailing yacht which was picked up by me. A way of saying thank you to fellow friends and contractors, both in my state and outside. The following day was for friends only. The cruise was for all day, about 12 hours. During the sail, we stopped at AT&T Park and went to see the SF Giants behind home plate. The event for two days reached well over 15,000 dollars. What a write off....LOL- 5 replies

Jim Gamble replied to Jim Gamble's question in The Club House
Hey guys, the refinanced loans just funded today at 2.75%. Now that is finalized we was thinking about investing again....When I look the rates again today, they appeared to have went up another 3/4 of a percent. I think they will go down in the winter, but who really knows what will happen. Does anyone think that the rates will continue to go up. This possibly could be a sign that the economidy is recovering. Poll: What type of pressure washing rig do you use?
Jim Gamble replied to mdspowerwashing's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Ok, Here are some photos... Our First trailer. Built in 1988, modified in 1990. Raised PSI to 4,000. Increased GPM's and most of all, raised BTU's to 700,000. At this time, no manufacture was offering these spec's. I remember I had to sign a release form for the modifications. Our second trailer custom: Our first attempt with Hydraulics. Had issues with the balancing of the flow. Our Third Trailer Custom: Increase flow ratio of Hydraulics. Hired two Hydraulic Engineers to solve Hydraulics issues from previous model. Added a lift crane for lifting the Turbo twisters onto second level of platform. Had to consider height since everything had to be under 6'6" -

California coffers contain about $4.5 billion more than expected
Jim Gamble replied to Jim Gamble's question in The Club House
I agree...but I like that in one year, California managed to show a profit more than any other state in the union. It just shows how strong California is. If the work force was at full swing, I am sure that number would of doubled. Highly skilled workers are coming back while lower skilled workers are leaving because they simply cannot afford the housing and cost of living. Jobs are coming back, if you have skills they want. This is why my wife and I want to buy more housing. We are already experiencing the up swing on housing with the ones we already own. Our Mortgage's was refinanced to 2.75% for a 15yr Fixed. Now we had to qualify for this type of triple "A" rated loan, this was not a Obama Loan. What I mean by that is this is not a Hand out loan like you read about where loans are reduced so that you will not go bankrupt or loose your home. Forgiving a second loan or reduction in your current loan that you promised to pay back in good faith....No No.... we needed 60% loan to value on all of the houses, we needed a middle credit score above 780 and we need 3 months with cash reserves set aside on all mortgage's payments and normal monthly expenses. Our debt to income ratio had to be idea as well. It is important to note again, that this is not an OBAMA loan, so no forgiveness of debt went with these loans.- 5 replies

As far as Part timers... I know of three well known internet contractors who say they started cleaning in 19** . But they never say "I was a part timer for the first 10 years of my total years of being a pressure washer". They give the impression on their site that they have always been a full time washer from day one. I have even seen them add years to their " experience". These same contractors who put these other contractors down because they are part timers also was Part Timers as well, they just do not want anyone to know it. -

I believe an expert comes with the years of experience in the same field. This has happen so many times where someone will say " I am an expert...I have been Cleaning Parking Garages ( For example) for 20 years, but now I am also an expert on KEC cleaning which I do with diluted simple green and a squirt gun to rinse" LOL. I remember when I have cleaned a small KEC back in 1988. I cleaned it 1 time and did not do a great job, I am sure. I did not take any photos...I wonder why? I also did a trailer wash...ONE TIME...did I take photos...NO...I wonder why.... because I am no expert and I suck at it. When someone says they are good...I say show me the proof...show me some before and after photos. I'm ready, are the ones who say they are experts ready ? You would be surprised all of the excuses these " So called experts" have for not showing photos of their so called expert work. -
I think the drama has stopped or at least slow down that is ...for now. Of course it could be the eye of the storm for all I know.

I was going to post ours, but i saw this is for residential, which we do not do
