Run Acid Through Pump???
R L S replied to shawn_shawn's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Dont combine the soap and acid as it wil of coursel neatrulize each other. Just rig up a 3way valve and have one hose for each chem and the third hose going to the downstreamer. Then you just switch the switch to the get the desired chem. -

Very sweet. I really like your exhaust venting. Do you an electrical chemical injector, What are the chemical buttons for in the pic? -
QC coupler exploded-the results
R L S replied to Chris S's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Paul, I never run more than 3000psi and most of the time I am around 2000psi. I havent had one break in awhile since I changed up my downstreaming method though. -
All home basesd here. I have plenty of land and buildings to keep all my equipment and supplies inside and out of the weather.

QC coupler exploded-the results

Yeah that has happened to me three differant times. Kinda nuts that it happened. Good thing you werent hurt. -
I agree alot with John W. I as well carry a sidearm on my person most of the time and always very close to me. Learn your states law about carrying a pistol get your CCW practice and become comfortable with a pistol. It is hands down the best form of self defense possible imo.

That looks cool, SHould get a good grade.

In my experience TUFF SKIN hose by LANDA is by far the best, but expensive. I have had good luck with E-specs 2-wire 4500psi hoses (probably the same as what Paul uses)except the swivel ends leak often. I too run acid through my hoses which adds to wear and tear. When they leak I put on a new good quality swivel and the hoses last a good while.

What kind of unit is it Jon?

removing items around the house
R L S replied to Mountainaire's question in Residential Pressure Washing
If there is a ton of stuff around the house I have them move it before I wash. If its a few hanging plants and chimes I move them as well as the door mats. -
It depends on some factors like did it blow by a coolant passage and get water inside a cylinder which means rust and corrosion. If it did you have to get that hole honed. Call your local mechanic for prices.

most costly mistake doing residential
R L S replied to SQUEEKY's question in Residential Pressure Washing
I have had no major residentaial mishaps but have had one good industrial mishap. THANKGOODNESS for insurance. -
Save your money, dont buy an X-jet and just downstream. And I agree with the water brooms being big turds. Mosmatic also makes good surfacers. Good Luck

Ok here we go one last time. The wand was at one time just like all the other dual lance wands out there but it has been replumbed so there is only ONE nozzle at the tip. There are still dual lances going from the twist handle but they get T'd together. In the quick connect you put your shooter tip and twist the handle to draw and shut off the flow of chem just by twisting the handle. You can shut the flow of chem from your downstreamer off by twisting the handle while having you shooter in the QC at then end of the lance. There is only one tip at the end of the lance. There are trying to patent it before they sell it so pics will be a ways off I am sure.
-
No it is not like your Suttner or any other dual lance wand. This one has been worked over and replumbed so that you can always leave your soap tip in wheter it be a fan or shooter tip it stays in the lance. You twist the handle one way and it draws chem, twist it the other way and it cuts the chem draw off with the soap tip still in the lance. So you can always leave your soap tip in it and draw soap or not draw soap without swicthing nozzles, or walking back to your trailer. It is all done with the soap tip in and by twisting the handle. I hope this makes sense. It is an awesome wand if they sell me one I will post pics because I am sure noone understands what I am saying(typing). And no it is not like a regular dual wand
-
That is pretty good. I think we all have those days, I know I sure have.
-
No it is not like a regular dual lance. You leave the low pressure chem drawing tip in the wand and you leave it there. You twist the handle to draw chems and shut them off. No switching tips at all.
-
I know a company around here that has made is in the works to sell a dual lance wand that you can put your low pressure soap drawing tip in say a 0060 and loosen the handle to draw your soap. To rinse and quite drawing chem all you do is twist the handle the other way (leaving the low pressure tip in). It is very cool. No more walking to the trailer to flip a knob or changing tips. I offered them $200 for one but they said no because all the kinks arnt all worked out.

Great advice. Thanks Hugh.
