Surface Cleaner maintenance
R L S replied to steffysmom's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Also one more thing I do is add an inline high pressure filter when I use my surfacer to help save on down time. I have my filter set up with QC's and just attach it to the gun when I need it. -

Clean your tips if they get cloged. Other than that if your swivel has a grease zirk on it then lube it up. If it doesnt, then just run it. -

I use hand pumps to get chems from 55gal drums into my 5ers. I have one pump just for soap and bleach and one pump just for my acids, it is labled as ACID ONLY as well. Once I grabbed the soap pump which was last used to pump bleach and blindly put it into my HF acid drum and started to pump away. Talk about teary eyes, coughing and hard to breathe and that was from the time it took to walk (run) out of my shop to fresh air. I had to air it out for awhile before I went back in with a respirator on. Moral of story Acid and bleach Big NO NO!!

Best way to apply stripper?
R L S replied to Limeade's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Limeade, I apply stripper alot with a pump up. I pre wet the surface to be stripped and also wet down the adjacent building ie. house, garage plants etc. then I apply stripper and wet down the house again. I downstream my oxalic. PS I do not use brushes I imagine thats one PITA!! -

Sounds pretty good to me. Long drive though. Seems like you should be able to find one a lot closer.

I got wireless internet hookup and a bread maker. All I really wanted was a few quick connects and some busted hoses fixed. O well guess I'll have to get them fixed myself.

R L S replied to Aplus's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Your tech was right. I ran about 30 gallons of K-1 in my burner because it was cheaper and sure nuff it burned up my fuel pump and fuel solinod. Now I only run Dyed diesel. -

I just bought a pair of Survivors from Wally World. They are the same height as rubber boots but are neopreme, waterproof and have 1000grams of insulation and only come in camo. So far they are great I dont know the durability yet but they are comfy to wear all day long. There have been days that I put them on in the morning to feed then I go to work and they dont come off till after I feed at night. So far very happy and they were $70 or $80.

Regular in everything I own. I will run Techron through my truck every couple of fill ups. For my burner I use dyed diesel. -
Always neutralize. I am using Oxalic right now but I have become sensitive to it. When I run out I will Citralic as well.
