Should we be supporting new startups?
R L S replied to plainpainter's topic in Business Topics & Tips
I dont surf the net much and post less. But from what I've read the boards do baby folks when startring up, so what. Concentrate on YOUR business and you will do fine. -
A downstreamer on the end is not going to change your ratios so basically you are still downstreaming. I had a guy work for me for a bit who used to make his own xjets when he had a business. Basically he took a 3/4 brass T and plumbed it up and reduced it down to 1/4 ends. He fitted the backside with a 0degree nozzle and the front with a hose barb and the bottom with a 1/4 chem line. That setup created his venturi and worked for him. I have never done it but it sounds really feasible. I am not good at describing things by typing but if you get the picture it seems feasible.

The two welded together weigh alot less than the rollovers and they dont get gummed up and stick either. -

We upstream soap and down stream acid as well. I welded two 1/4" plugs together and have a HP nozzle on on one side and soap nozzle on the other, works great. I also run my hose to a ball valve then have a 9degree elbow with my wand attached so that when I need to change my tips I just close the ball valve yet while I am washing I am not holding a trigger open all day. I also run some other good fleet wands PM me if you want some ideas. -

One tip. Since your just starting out throw away the 0 degree nozzle to prevent any damage. -

A worthy thing to fight...Barack's Stealthy Socialism?
R L S replied to MMI Enterprises's question in The Club House
Both parties are pushing for socialism. As long as we have a two party system the fed govt will get bigger and bigger and push for socialism. If you really want to change things vote out side of the dem-rep parties. -
The elections are a waste anymore. Its a big game to swing and steal votes from the other party. Both parties are the same based on big goverment and control. Latley using fear tactics for control. I would love to have an open election not just the two parties that are a joke.. Then we might be able to vote for someone who cares about our country and this countries future without worrying about there own and there parties financial gain. Thats all this is any more is who can I make MY friend so that when I get released from being president I will be taken care of. I could care less who runs for pres or VP as long as they care about us, there country and what we the people want not what some big polictical party wants them to do. As for the folks running I dont want either of them in office. Just my 2 cents.

My friend has two sets of train horns on his tricked out BMW when you stand next to his car the sound waves make you shake. It is so freakin loud!!! I also agree its not to funny because many people could take it wrong and flip out on you.

The red is from water and soap getting under the siding and reacting to the ink on the weather wrap or something else under the siding. In our experence the fading is from to much bleach on the paint. Next time tune it down a bit. Have you tried rinsing it really, really well. When its wet can you brush off the marks. Try brushing it if you can, I know its a pain in the arse but better than a repaint unless you want insurance to take care it. What did the H/O say about just curious. -
I have had wands stolen from my trailer when I wasnt there. I also thwarted a few brothers from stealing my entire rig from a Smithfields where I was inside eating lunch. I stopped them just after they slim jimmed my door lock. That was an interesting lunch break.

Its been said before, but I have to say garbage trucks, chicken houses and probably the dirtest is heavy equipment. We wash a lot of machinery and when they export a machine to another country they have to be absoulutley dirt free. I mean no dirt in any crack or cranny. You have to wash out all the dirt from the tracks, all compartments, under carriage etc. I'm talking all the dirt must go, all of it. We price this by piece and depending on what kind of machine it is we het from $300 all the way to $850 for the big boys like D10 or Komatsu 600 track hoes etc. All is fun in the life of a pressure washer. Oh yeah reefer trailer wash outs can be nasty also.

I am like Scott and do not use the religous card to get work. If in a professional conversation religion comes up and we happen to be of the same faith I let them decide to use us based on our comapany not my religion. I never do work for my ward members (well I did once) and often recommend them to other people I know.

What to use?
R L S replied to MudDuck's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
I have always used F-18. The secret to stripping is dwell time. Often on hard deck 15-20min dwell is not enough. I have decks that took seriously 4-5hrs of dwell, we just kept wetting it w/ stripper and never let it dry. I those cases you MUST charge very premium prices. Good Luck -
There is good money to be had almost anywhere, just gotta find it. Yes there is good money in ag work.
