  1. Elite's first roof wash.

Good looking job Pete, how long did it take you?
  2. I just finished up a 1500 single story home a little bit ago. It took me an hour and it looks good. You definately need bleach in your mix. Normally I don't use a proportioner in the x-jet, so it shoots chems at a 2:1 ratio. I think your mix was waaaaaay to weak. You shouldn't have to brush the whole house, with a good mix the little bit of pressure you use to rinse is enough to aggitate and break loose the rest of the dirt, grime, and mildew. A lot of the folks around here that xjet use this mix. In a 5 gallon bucket mix 1 gallon of 12% sodium hypochlorite, 1/2 gallon of citracleen (house wash soap), and fill the rest of the bucket up with water and xjet with no proportioner. Good luck and keep using the search button to do research.
  3. HD-80 Mixing Instructions

Thanks for the mixing info, but I'm curious to what the gallon of antifreeze is for.
  4. gas write off?

I'm a little confused here, I know I can't claim the fuel I put in my truck because I claim the business miles I put on it. I know that's what the mileage is for, gas and wear and tear. But can I claim the fuel that I put in my pressure washer on top of claiming the price of the unit? Thanks for your help.
  5. gas write off?

Now you got it. I bought a new weed eater the other day, it's a biz write off (hey I needed it to trim the grass around a driveway so I could seal it).
  6. Surface Cleaner: Wheels vs. Floater

Ken, how many gpm is your unit? Curious.
  7. X jet VS .0040

Like I said half my problem is a lack of understanding. I that I like to stir the pot. Anyway I've never downstreamed so I'm not knocking it. And actually Lance there are a lot of intricate parts of houses around here that I have trouble reaching without getting on the roof especially when it's windy. Ive had a few walkout basements in back of houses that makes them 3 story that have given me fits. I'm not saying the xjet is the number one do all tool, it's all I know. I am interested in learning about downstreaming if it's going to help me out. A downstreamer came with my unit but I never touched it. Would it work or do I need to buy a special one? What nozzle would I use with a 4gpm 3500psi? Do you use a dual wand or something else? If you kindly tell me what I need, I'll get the stuff and play around with it, I'm sick of not knowing, I want to try it myself.
  8. X jet VS .0040

I don't understand the chem strength overkill thing, you could just mix up a weaker batch before xjetting or use a proportioner. I really need to see one of you guys downstream in person so I could understand. I fan out my xjet to wet down plants and then adjust it again to wet windows, open valve on the chem line, apply chems to the big side of a two story home in less than a minute, turn valve on chem line off, fan out xjet to wet plants again while chems are dwelling, then adjust nozzle and start rinsing....DONE. How could downstreaming be any faster than that?
  9. I was using some today on a house and got a drop in my eye.....son of a....man that burned. I hate wearing safety glasses when doing a house because the chlorine constantly spots them up and I can't see, and I forgot to put them on when I used oxalic on some rust stains. But I know what you mean about getting a big whiff of that stuff, it takes your breath away and makes you cough, kinda like when the doctor checks your fellas out, know what I mean?
  10. xjet length

I've xjetted with 30' of hose and 50' of hose and didn't notice a difference. I can still shoot chems 30' or so. One thing I do know is that the xjet won't draw chems up very high, like if I stand on a step ladder with my wand extended out, it won't draw chems up that 6 to 8 foot of hose. But if I stand on the ground and get the chems shooting and then run up the ladder, the chems will continue shooting. Hope that makes sense.
  11. help me with gutters please

To reach 3rd story, I stand on a 10' step ladder and apply with a brush on an extension pole.
  12. commercial contracts info needed

Would Carlos or anybody else have a commercial contract for cleaning the entrances to several office buildings, or something close that would give me an idea? Each on is about a 12 x 8 area with a roof over it and consists of a brickwall, two brick pillars and a concrete patio. I would like to sell them on doing them quarterly or at least twice a year. Thanks midwestprowash@comcast.net
  13. sealed patio pics

I finished up a patio today for a customer. I used H&C concrete sealer in Red Terrazzo Tile. He liked it so much we are doing the front drive which is three times the size.
  14. sealed patio pics

I printed the pic of the drive you guys did Celeste and that's what sold my customer on it, he really liked the look of it. So thank you . Since he liked the patio that I did for him, he had me do the driveway, and I finished up today.
  15. Gutter Shock Rocks

Bruce, you don't always need to agitate the GS, it just depends on how bad the gutters are. Sometimes instead of a pump up I just dip my brush into a bucket and apply it on the gutter that way. I have reached 3 story gutters standing safely on a 10 or 12 foot step ladder and using a 16 foot extension pole. I've never used Gutter Zap and I've never tried GS on trailers either, so I can't comment on that. I always wet the vinyl, windows and surronding area down before cleaning the gutters. I've never had a problem with GS hurting the vinyl. As a matter of fact I've used it to clean some tough spots on vinyl with good results. As far as GS being better than PP....oh hell yea! I can't explain the kind of "white" gutters turn out using GS. Only GS users know what I'm talking about. Gutters turn out so white it's just sick, something I never experienced with PP.
  16. Gutter Shock Rocks

Lance and Mike said it, Gutter Shock. For this house I mixed it 50/50 with water, applied with a pump up, let dwell for a minute, then agitated with a soft brush on an extension pole, and then rinsed with the x-jet. I didn't want to give in and pay for the Gutter Shock because it's kinda pricey, but now that I've done a few houses with it and had lots of compliments about how white the gutters are, I'll never use anything else.
  17. Gutter Shock Rocks

Two more I promise. A year ago I would have been trying to clean this black crap with Purple Power....lol
  18. Gutter Shock Rocks

Never seen so much black mildew, this one was bad.
  19. Other Half

Very well said. I was the supervisor for a small utility construction company. I had more experience in the industry than my last boss, he was always asking me what to do, or how to read this print, and I was running the show. He couldn't read very well, was horrible with the books, and had already filed bankrupcy once. Tell me that wasn't a risk, hell I'm better off now trying to do my own thing.
  20. What is the most effective way to get jobs?

Don't you just love sticking it to the man, when you are the man?
  21. Am I breaking the law?

The label on my Sodium Hypochlorite Solution reads: IT IS A VIOLATION OF FEDERAL LAW TO USE THIS PRODUCT IN A MANNER INCONSISTENT WITH ITS LABELING. The label goes on to explain "swimming pool water chlorination" and "sanitizing of food processing equipment rinse method". There is nothing about killing mold, mildew or algea. Or about using it to clean houses, roofs, or cleaning in general. Does everyones SH label read the same? Are we all breaking the law?
  22. Am I breaking the law?

This is all very interesting, it just raised my curiousity when I read that. Needless to say it ain't gonna stop me, I just ripped the labels off and kept washing.
  23. run off effect

I did a roof this weekend with a shurflo setup and I soaked everything down, and then set up a sprinkler, turned it on and up I went. It worked pretty well, but I won't take credit for it, I read it in another post.
  24. Am I breaking the law?

    What's P-A-P?
  25. What is the most effective way to get jobs?

That's a shame, so what, now you owe this lady your life because you made so much money, give me a break.
