Did they really misspell "waterborne" on the front of that can? OMG Any who, I bet it will be fun to strip back off. -
Using the search function do some research on house washing and house mix recipes, there is tons of information here. There is no magical solution that you can pick up at the local hardware, not one that's going to work anyway. Most professionals make their own recipe but the base of most recipes is Sodium Hypochlorite. SH is the only chem that will kill mold, mildew, and algae. Some type of soap is also used which cleans the dirt and grime. Some will also use additives like rinse aid, wet wax, and a foamer for cling. JFYI you should also fill out your signature, it is a forum rule.

Up until last Aug my site was being hosted by ipowerweb for about $100 a year. Well last Aug my new web hosting company had my domain name transferred from ipowerweb to them, they did all the dirty work and I didn't have to do anything. I never thought anymore about it, until a few days ago I saw that ipowerweb charged my bank account $95.40 to renew my account for the upcoming year. I got out my old paper work and saw I was paid up until Feb 4th of 2008 so they were obviously charging me for the year ahead. Well after being on hold for literally an hour I finally talked with someone. Apparently they don't consider having your domain transferred elsewhere and not using their services at all the same as cancelling. They said I had to call and "cancel" the account. So the lady said she would cancel it out for me and refund the money. So all is good right? Wrong, I saw they only refunded my account $37.45 yesterday, so I called again. Once again on hold for an hour I was answered. Even though I haven't used their services since last fall and even though the $ they took from me was for the upcoming 12 months, I still hadn't "cancelled" in time before the renewal date so they are charging me a fee of $57.95 WTF!!! I got the whole "it's in our policy" BS. After arguing with an agent for awhile I asked for the manager. She said he was going to tell me the same thing but I didn't care! So she says hold on while I verify your account. Now I am literally on hold with them right now as I type. It's been 30 minutes now I've been waiting for a manager. I am sure they just want me to hang up. This is a prime example of a company that is blinded to the fact that their customers are the only reason they exist. Their so called "policy" benefits them, not the customer. That $50.00 they stole from me is nothing compared to the business they will never get just from a few people reading this post, I hope it was worth it. So if any of you are using them, and decide to go elsewhere, make damn sure you call these jerks and "cancel" your account at least 30 DAYS (according to policy) before your renewal date. PS. I just talked to someone again, of course it wasn't a manager it was just some foreign guy that had no clue about anything, figures. Nice customer services ipowerweb!

I guess you can never be too careful these days.

No problem Lance it makes me feel better to know maybe I helped at least one guy.

Thanks Beth, I just sent them a nasty but yet professional email so I fell better and I'm done wasting time on it now. I just wanted others to be aware so no one else is taken advantage of like I was. That's what the boards are all about.

Nice Cleaner Times Article Beth !!
Barry M replied to Apple Roof Cleaning's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
It was a well written article Beth, nice job. What other magazines do ya'll subscribe to? I like to watch other industries as well for ideas that I can use in my business. I get numerous remodeling, and deck building magazines (free) and one from the carpet cleaning industry. -
I voted to soon to tell but I am slightly concerned about the upcoming residential season. I have projected some nice numbers for 08 but the economy could put a damper on that. I have been watching Michigan closely since last year, for those of you that don't know the MI economy has been very bad for awhile due to the car industry. Though it has certainly affected small businesses in the area, there are still pressure washing companies up there that did just fine last year in terms of numbers.

I'll never forget the first RT I went to a few years back. I had only talked with Steve on the phone, he told me to meet him at Hooters the night before the RT and that he was the guy with the ZZtop beard. Walking up to the entrance my stomach churned with nervousness, I was a scared to death new guy going to meet up with his peers and I didn't know crap. As soon as I walked in the door I spotted Steve across the crowed room, the hostess asked me "how many were in my party" and I said "I'm with the ZZtop looking dude over there with all the women around him".....lol. The rest is history.

Steve did a lot for the industry and helped me out a ton when I first got into the business. Thank you Steve for everything.

What Adrian said for dirt and mildew works best and also use a surface cleaner, no brushing.

pricing on house cleaning???
Barry M replied to spraymasters's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Please fill out your signature in your profile so you don't get an infraction, its in the forum rules. To answer your question you should charge as much as you can and still get work. The price you posted above is about average IMO. -
There are two things that ALL customers want. (1) They want to know you care about them personally and (2) that you are going to help solve their problem right now. I am loyal to vendors that fit this model.

LOL.....No those searches were for generic terms and nothing to do with California. -
Van Nuys, California (Lead)
Barry M replied to Barry M's topic in Contractor Help Wanted - Job Leads
Yeah it was brought to my attention that some of the contact info didn't match up. I think I'll just call them myself from now on just to verify the job before giving or selling the lead. I got another one today for some commercial concrete work in Long Beach, CA. The zip, city, and area code all match up but that doesn't mean anything. I'll give them a call tomorrow. -
winter is here, what's your plan
Barry M replied to CLASSICPW's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Wish I had a salt spreader on the back of the truck right now. We're going on our 3rd day of ice and freezing rain. I usually do handyman type jobs for acquaintances and keep up my couple truck fleet and car lot accounts. -
