  1. I think it would; probably most any caulk really on a stained deck, but I haven't personally tried it. (as long as the stain has dived in good)
  2. Not at all uncommon in our area. You'll see all kinds of things from distressed builders.
  3. Paint trimmed wood to match, install as best as possible, fill spaces with backer rod, then caulk and paint again? That's all I've got for you atm. Haven't ever seen this before... OR maybe( paint first) put asphalt concrete joint sticks around, tack them in with construction adhesive behind, caulk, repaint as needed? AND post this on a renovation repair forum.... :D
  4. Cooking Oil from Deep Frying Turkeys

Can you elaborate on this? You mix oil with the caustic?
  5. I use citric acid when children and dogs or cats might be present soon afterwards. Also I find citric, on certain woods and wood conditions does a better job without having to working about overdoing it. Usually though I just use oxalic. I also use citric as one ingredient to making my own Jet Dry :D
  6. I'm not advanced enough to comment in a direct pressure washer respect but I see how what you are saying is analogous to computers: e.g. difference between prebuild and custom build. People build their own or buy similar kits to allow them to do this and control upgrades and ensure space for said upgrades and improvements. Further to ensure overall quality of all components overall. More than what you are saying maybe but there is nothing else like what you are talking about. I think it would be a good thing (assuming what you are saying is good I dunno much about it)
  7. Pump quality

Belt drive pumps will outlast direct drive, but require more power to run but it's worth it for pressure washing.
  8. Quitting

How I quit, Well I cut back slowly one cig a day less every day sometimes would take two or three days to cut one then stayed on one cig a day for a long time then would just take a hit if it really needed too. Finally I quit all the way and eating like a nutcase and yelling at family for no reason seemed to help a lot. Also drinking helped. Nicotine is a serious drug. I think most people should let their brain receptors down regulate before quitting....b/c it's hard....or maybe I'm just a wuss :D You might want to switch to a pure tobacco like American Spirit too before trying to quit as it's possible the admixture components are addictive as well. That way you are weaning from (when you start to quit) only nicotine.
  9. You can soak your clothes it in, add it to your washer machine, use it for carpet cleaning, add it to your dish washer. Add it to your steam cleaner water. Add it to your mop water.
  10. Therma Tru door and a Lawyer

I see wear like that on stained exterior doors on the bottom 1/3 especially ALL the time. All least 25% of doors.
  11. So 1500 has the foot traffic rating of 100 with some of the rehydrating aspects of 200? And dives in more |better?
  12. The only time I've ever seen seep back from TWP is when the moisture level is too high to correctly apply anyway. RS is likely the same. If you are applying a lot at very low temps that is a whole nother thing but I've never tried that.
  13. This is true. The whole notion of making your stain "illegal" is just silly. As far as truly caring about the environment (these VOC laws do very little, if you take into consideration the exemptions of the big players get) this article is the best and most accurate and succinct out there: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/09/08/opinion/going-green-but-getting-nowhere.html?_r=3&ref=todayspaper Things MUST occur on a GLOBAL scale if our species is going to make it.
  14. Confining my comments strictly to TWP 200, I have not noticed any problems at blends up to 15%. Whether to do so or not is more a function of the wood surface and needs. I haven't tried higher than that due to how the mix seemed to feel (light enough) Confining my comments strictly to Sherwin Williams,...are you serious? Every time I use anything from them I am left thinking "oh god take me now". The poll you have created is really a false dichotomy and I therefore won't vote.
  15. Where was you?

I was sitting in a class on the Psychology of Religion being annoyed yet again by the professor confusing Will Rogers with William James. Someone got word that a plane had crashed into one of the towers. Since, a few days before, some little plane had crashed, by accident, into some other building, we joked that the pilots must be drinking heavy that week. After, I went home and took a nap before I went and did squats. Woke up, turned on the TV, and truly, nothing has been the same since.
  16. Oh....oh

    Probably b/c he's a forgetful pothead?
  17. Va. soldier at large in Philly area after 4 deaths

Just imagine going to battle zones over and over deployment after deployment returning home, your wife divorced you, has a child by another guy. You look around and see our borders open with us having occupied most of the Middle East except Saudi Arabia as a result of an attack by Saudi Arabian citizens, for no real obvious benefit other than Israel security. We harass and do ten minute pat downs of eighty year old ladies at air ports and have a 30 plus year history of the forced destruction of the production base of the economy and tax laws that in combination with that destruction, effectively force companies off shore and effectively bar bringing that money home. Banks offering mortgages amortized where they see the interest paid back first then they get bailed out for the rest and also getting to take people's home. Soldiers see our monetary base slowly being destroyed, and they realize that they spent five or ten years getting wounded, shot, their knees destroyed from heavy pack loads and no real future in sight. They see that democracy won't be achieved in the Middle East and that it is rather lacking at home. I really don't think this can be debriefed. Some soldiers might end up like this guy but the other soldiers I hope will represent the future of change in America and the way back to Truth. And that's change we can believe in.
  18. Hidden Images

    usps ? :d
  19. Why some men have dogs and not a wife.

"12. If a dog smells another dog on you, they don't get mad. They just think it's interesting." My dog used to get real mad at this one :D
  20. dept ceiling?

Yes, Bush passed the Health Care law that forbids us negotiating for drug rates based on volume. The US pays the same piece rate for one pill as 1 billion pills. It is the Medicare | Medicaid program that is one of the top reasons for the crisis. Another is Defense spending coupled with our purposeful failure to secure our own borders (and Defense!!!). Still another is the failed war on drugs that creates Al Capones out of thin air. Lastly, we have over thirty years of solid effort to completely destroy American manufacturing. The notions of free trade benefits put forth are juvenile and do not take into account nation states, politics, and lack of parity. A million year or there is nothing. We are talking trillions and trillions of dollars of waste and a seeming purposeful destruction of American sovereignty.
  21. What are these areas

You could try a tinted sealant
  22. What are these areas

Problem occurred at installation imo and is permanent.
  23. dept ceiling?

Honestly though, Obama ran on the fact that he planned on running huge deficits and turning the nation completely over to the Banks. We can't, therefore, really expect him to do much else. Our leaders and most of our citizens don't even believe in basic economics so ???
  24. dept ceiling?
