It would take "insanely" drastic changes to put America back on any real fiscal course and yet it's treated as a political debate. In my opinion, we should prepare for collapse.

That's horrible. Now they are saying eight other firefighters were injured. -
Softwash ONLY wood decks?
Doug Black replied to Jared's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
I consider softwash under 500 psi. No pressure under 100 psi. Low pressure under 1500 psi. As measured as the tip. I thought you were talking about softwashing since that's the title of your topic. There are also people who just spray through a pump with "no pressure". They are also calling this "softwash" . The RCIA was trying to bash power washing last year and spreading fear about it in order to promote this type of cleaning. -

I have an 8 inch for special projects and have to turn my 20HP down to almost stall b/c she runs like a banshee! So I think you would be okay with a 12". Mr. Guy's advice is correct though.

Concrete cleaning with Oxalic
Doug Black replied to al9226's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Oxalic should ALWAYS be an upcharge. It's a good amount of work to mix up and apply and the fumes are not fun... -

I would gladly give it a go but no one has ever asked. Is there a given formula for sand replenishment? -
Yes, you see how it works. For instance, if it would me I could treat it and then hit it with my surface cleaner and be be done in 2 hours max, probably 1. But you could do the same thing thing over a longer time maybe if you had a better pressure washer. Yours is just too puny; but you did far better than a lot of people have done with it. So it you have a 3500 psi 4 gpm pressure washer (which you might be able to rent) you could clean it up with a yellow tip using correct form and distance...which was basically impossible for you with that tiny pressure washer. As far as cupped boards...just spray slow and go back over your back rolling to watch for any pooling. Also the time for tightening decks up is after power washing when they are wet and more pliant.

Hydrotek Pressure Washer
Doug Black replied to mlaurenza's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Pardon me for butting in but shouldn't a regular spigot be putting out 80-90psi? 35 psi would only be 2? gallons per minute? Perhaps I don't understand the term "positive water flow". It says it's belt driven. You could build a 5 or 20 gallon buffer tank? -
ready seal
Doug Black replied to patriot pressure washing's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Who is carrying ReadySeal? From what I understand it is what of those build up and looking better over time like some women things.... Why don't you two coat TWP? -
Isn't liquid more expensive?

IPE Stain
Doug Black replied to patriot pressure washing's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
IPE is and of itself is so dense that it does not need to be stained if you consider cost versus benefit. Better to spend the money on better screws and brackets or building ground to earth post reinforcements. -
Tear jerker..father surprises his children"
Doug Black replied to cleanhoods's question in The Club House
This velvet underground song would be the unfortunate circumstance of that decision.... No power washing but still worth a listen once in a life time.... -

...and pre wet windows and rinse them more often. -
SEE MSDS Document for SANI-T-10 What you bought it basically Odo-Ban. (ABDAC) The strength is low; you will need to try it full strength at a minimum. You can also buy it at up to 40% concentration but last time I had it priced it was 300 for 5 gallons...but that 40% strength is super strong... I think you might have to brush every square inch when it's in the paint like that....

Yeah, all Honda engines seem to have this. Once had the machine on a slight incline and it kept shutting off. Drove me batty until I figured out what was going on...

Any tips on removing new construction mortar from windows? It is hard to imagine how the masons accomplished this feat... The mortar is a little thick in spots. If it was real light I'd feel fine but I'm not real sure on this one. I guess I could hit it and spray the sills the whole time (they are metal) and repeat as necessary? It might be hard to get enough linger time on to eat the mortar without causing other problems.

Cool. Well I'm set to spray tomorrow after doing set up and roughing the brick today. Hopefully it won't be gusty like today! -

Interestingly, my last post was subject to approval; you know the one where I answered your question. Email me if you want an answer I guess. Strangely, this one went through. I guess it's blocked b/c I linked you direct urls. -

Not to your specs but Adjustable Face Shield P95 Maintenance-Free Dual Cartridge Respirator - Medium and a blue poncho when I have to spray up and it's misting. Hope this helps and hope someone has something even better to share :D
