Ron I started as a window cleaner about eight years ago. approx three years i have added power washing to my services mainly residential (window and power washing combination) i dont have the time or experience to do decks, we have enjoyed the power washing side more and have extended our services to the commercial market. thanks to this board i completed my first kitchen floor job (interior kitchen for cracker barrel) turned out great. i have enjoyed this board and benifited from it so much, i will try to give back what i can by posting more. Douseahouse I control My mix by using the shut off value on the intake hose of the m5. the mix is strong and this allows me to control the strength and amount of chemicals i use and need. you will not go through as much chemicals this way and will save you time from mixing chemicals. i got this strength tip from henry block on this tgs. fullblast, it is the screens that cause the white haze, you might have caused it but very unlikey, asked the customer if the screens were removed? (most likely never) and without seeing them heres my guess they are full andersen window screens,then check to see if there is a window without a screen and do a comparison. Here is what i would do, but charge her for it (this process will double the amount of time to clean her windows) (go to a restaurant/janitorial supply store and pick up 2 gals of liquid oven/grill cleaner and #0000 steal wool ( Home Depot/Lowes) also latex gloves and saftey googles. mix the oven cleaner at 50 percent with water (start with that strength and then you could increase to 75 percent with water) apply with a window cleaning mop (Home Depot/Lowes) apply just enough to get the window wet and keep it wet for 1 to 10 minutes dewell time (the trick is to let the chemical do the work and you will not have to buff the window as much), then take your steel wool #0000 and buff the window out then rewet the window with soap and water and squeegee (check to see if the white haze is still present and then re-apply and start to buff the window again ( this is were you can make adjustments to your chemical strength and/or dewell time) call me for more info and to answer questions. We use fiberglass step ladders 4ft, 8ft and 12ft. all of the extention ladders 16ft,24ft,28ft and 40ft we have are aluminum with ladder levelers and we use stand-offs when possible. Why carry the extra weight around all day, its more important to have the energy on the ladder and moving the ladder. Yes, the stand-offs and ladder levelers add more weight but thats where we add our weight not the (fiberglass) you should make your ladders safer. Marino Ortega ReflectiveClean@aol.com

Barry, since you will probably do it at a great price for family and friends, make sure they are quoted your regular price, too. This way they know what a great friend you are. Most likely they will have nosy neighbors (who will be watching you while you work). So, make sure you do it on a weekend (you want that exposure). The neighbors will see what a great job you do, and your friends will be able to give them your regular price (and not your family/friend discounted price) when they ask. Yes, most people think nothing of asking how much someone paid for their job. Also, make sure you have yard signs to leave up for a week. This is a great way that your friends and family can thank you for the great job and their discounted price. Make sure you leave plenty of business cards with your family and freinds, too.
