Jeff, Any time we have bare metal we need to paint at the body shop, we spray a metal etch primer over it. Just scuff it with some light sandpaper, and spray the etch primer over it. Dupont simply calls it "metal etch primer" they sell it in spray cans for small spots, and in qt cans for larger jobs. Finishmaster in Conway sells it. Just my 2 cents. good luck

I've been reading all the posts on estimate sheets. It seems that everyone types them then fills them in by hand once on site. I was thinking about taking my laptop and printer with me, and type all the estimate. Does any one else do this? Or am I going too far? Thanks.

Thanks guys. He wasn't willing at all to budge on the price, but he did deliver it (a 4 hour round trip) so I bought it. It really is brand new! Still has the tags on it. I hope for karma's sake it 's not stolen.

Thanks Guy. I'm going to find a tach, and order a set of #5 nozzles. Thanks again for the help.
-
12 volt. So dropping the size of the nozzle will increase the psi?
-
The nozzles are 6.0. 100 feet of hose, 16hp vanguard, and how would I find out how fast the motor is running? Is it possible to put a tach on it?

Thanks, I have the chart, from dultmeier sales. Thats where I got the equations. I must have done the math wrong. Guy, would you mind if I tagged along one day?
-
I am a little confused on how to match nozzles to my pressure washer. My pump is a 5.5 gpm, 3500 psi. So the formula equated 5.8797 which means I need to buy 6.0 size tips, right? Using that same math, can I buy say a set of 4.0 tips and lower my pressure? If the equation is right, then that equals 3062 psi. I'm guessing that's how it works... And I did use the search button, that's where I came up with the info I have so far.

Thanks Celeste. I am definitely going to take you up on the offer! Let me know when's a good time.

Should be a good game this weekend.

Ya'll say to find a niche and stick to it. uh huh. Doesn't that mean I still need to try it all to find out? And too, in this area every tom **** and harry has a lowes pressure washer on a 4x8 trailer and is trying to do houses for nothing. So doI even try to do houses or do I have to do houses? The flat work like gas stations, and bank etc. would be great but I can't afford the environ. equip. to start.

I have been reading of guys always pulling water from their tank. I thought the tank was just for time when the job you are going to has no water supply. And if you are always trailering water isn't that a lot of added weight?

Thanks you all. What is SEO?
-
Thanks Russ! That's what I assumed, but really wasn't sure. Thanks again.

I am just starting my business, and the due date for this years YellowPages book is only a week away. In my area the are several big ads for pressure washing, and a LOT regular listings. Should I bite the bullet and place a big ad? It costs $139 a month! vs. $50 for the little bolded ad. Thanks for the help.
