  1. Remove small stains with oven cleaner. Spray the stain with cleaner and let it sit for six to seven hours. Return and spray the stain down with water. Repeat as needed until the oil stain is gone. Oven cleaner is a toxic chemical, so keep children and pets away from the area until you’ve rinsed it clean.

I'm sure that he does not want to sit around waiting 6 or 7 hours or making a second trip to clean, try what others have said above.

  2. After talking to a wood restoration contractor today I was asking him about what he uses to remove the fur from the wood caused by cleaning, I told him that we use a 5-1/2'' orbital sander and it takes two of us all day to sand. He told me that he uses a 3m pad on a buffer machine that the pads cost around $1.50 each and are 9'' cutting the removal time down. Here is the question, I forgot to ask where he gets the pads from can anyone point me to the right style and company that sells them. Also who all is using this already and how is it working for you?

  3. That just happened to me the other day, not losing a customer but had one of my new competitors come ask me what chemicals I use to clean houses with as I was cleaning a house across the street from one that he was cleaning (using a northstar cold water pressure washer 4000 psi with a turbo nozzle) I told him that I could not help him. The Funny part was it took him from the time I got there to set up my washer and get enough water in my tank where the water supply was so slow it took 2 hours so I sat in my truck making calls and watching him, to do the rear of the house by the time he started on the front of the house I was able to get started and was completely finished cleaning the house and deck in under 1 hour, and he was still washing the front of the house when I, rolled up all the hoses & collected the money. But that is how it goes, no one ever helped me that was my competition.

  4. unless of course you ever build it into something then decide you want to sell it. then bob wouldnt want steves pressure washing service. I think using your name is a bad idea. I'd love to change my company name....What is going to be your main focus of business? Residential Commercial? Fleets,? I'd try to find a good name that sets your apart from everyone else.

I agree Ron that is a very good point, I just was thinking of how many companies that are in FL that offer pressure washing.

  5. If you are trying to keep the over spray off of everything except what you are spraying you can go to your local Home Depot and pick up a sheet of luan plywood and cut it into 4x4 sheets and put it up against the house and spray and keep moving the sheet then follow behind using a brush to touch up the small section that the luan covered. The luan plywood is only about $10 a sheet and will save you tons of time.

  6. We need a redwood sided house refinished. One corner has some woodpecker damage on 1 or 2 boards. The rear of the house (away from the sun) is in pretty good shape, but the front is black and in rough shape. Please PM me for my contact or other info. It is a 1 story ranch. Most of the house is easily accessible, except for one side that has a garage below it (the lot slopes from left to right). Thanks!

I will tell you personally if I lived in the Charlotte, NC area and did not do this line of work I would contact Roger & Celeste to do the work. I meet Roger this past weekend at the roundtable in KY and he is very smart about the wood restoration business and gave me new ideas as well.

  7. Yes BT200 will work great on old stains on pavers aswell, not so much on concrete though. Cold water pressure washer will do just fine.

For the paver sealing contact Southern Stain and Seal in the US phone number (615) 604-5115 ask for david if he does not answer super nice and very smart guy. Everyone that uses his products are very happy with them.

Good Luck and remember to take before and after pics.

  8. I had bought 5 rain suits from bass pro shops they are the columbia brand the only bad thing about them is the crotch of them tears. Im looking for some that are made of good quality that will last, I understand that the ones I bought was not the top of the line they normally sell them for $50 and got them on sale for $20. In the winter time I put sub zero coveralls on with the rain suit to keep warm and dry.

I would like to know what brand rain suits do you have that you wear in the winter and what brand you wear in the summer, the place to get them from, model number & price

  9. 1) 3/4'' hose feeding to the washer for your machine is going to fine, I have a 3/4'' hose that feeds my 5.5 gpm unit with no problems what so ever.

    2) When running hose to your buffer tank make sure that you use 3/4'' reason being is when you have to run over 200' of say 5/8'' garden hose friction will cause the water to barely come out, where if you us 3/4'' you will have the volume to mantain the stream. As for the filter, I have the small screen style strainer on my 3/4'' hose that attaches to the water spigot that dumps into my buffer tank (This has saved me several times from getting things into my tank), then I have a small micron filter between the tank and pump to stop any small debris.

Also where you said that you are going to fill your tank at your house make sure that your tralier has brakes on it to help stop the weight. And when you pumb in you pressure washer to your buffer tank make sure that you purchase hose that will not collapse under suction and its best not to use pvc pipe I can't remember where I purchased my hose from but its black in color and has 3/8'' walls with the 3/4'' ID you can not squeeze it together

  10. Are you just wanting to sell the engine and keep the skid or sell the entire skid.

About selling the motor you have to remember that you can buy a brand new one for $1,400 with 0 hours on it, The price that you come up with will also depend on the condition of the motor "If anything is missing or torn up" and the amount of hours since its a 2005 model.

As for building a pressure washer, you already have the motor now you will need to buy a pump, you can run a 5.5 gpm at 3,500 psi as for what pump everyone has there own kind they like. You can contact some of the vedors that support the site that will give you more details and pricing.

    Hope this helps.
