  1. post-6415-137772319975_thumb.jpgI visited a house that has stained red cedar shingles and the owner wants power washed. There is a nearby power plant and the side of the house pictured has some coal residue that she wants removed. It doesnt look very dirty from looking at it but the power plant is funding a portion of the project and they are going to come back and swab the house to make sure it was cleaned. My question is what type of mix should i use on the house and not affect the stain?

  2. Thanks for the help guys. I am definitely making my house the first one I do. I have cedar shingles.

Would a mix of 6% Bleach and some Simple Cherry do? or do I need some type of wood brightener. Also, I have been reading alot about "softwashing" residential homes. What type of psi would I want to be at for cedar shingles?

I will post some befor and after once I get the right mix.

  3. I was a little concerned using bleach but I guess its common practice. I just wasnt sure if it would effect plants, trees, shrubs, grass etc. And didnt know if it would actually bleach anything on the house. My only experience with bleach is in the washing machine. I would love to get a few quick pointers from anyone who has a couple minutes of time.

    Thanks
