blackjack I agree with richard, however there are some high end waterbase sealers that work very well. What was the manufacturers name of the sealer he was trying to sell you. I sell many different types of sealers at my regular job and also use them on my side jobs for masonry and concrete.

why does hot water always cause leaks

you must be doing something wrong with the hp swivels, I have used some of the same ones for a couple years. Something that might would help you is a flow actuated unloader. -
I normally won't back down on prices. I had a job that I bid in January that was around $15k and after they got my price the called and asked if I would look over the numbers again. I told them I looked at them before I sent them to them. They called 3 weeks ago, finished job this past weekend.

Restoring Concrete Driveway finish
Jim Carroll replied to Vashtie's topic in DIY'ers - Ask The Pro's
I disagree on it needing to be sealed. if you could post some pics I could give you some direction on refinishing it. -
SOUNDS LIKE THEY HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE SEALER INSTALLER. IT SOUNDS AS IF HE COATED TWICE BUT LET THE FIRST COAT DRY. BRICK SEALERS GO ON WET ON WET. USING A CHEMICAL STRIPPER SHOULD TAKE CARE OF IT.

Got Carpal Tunnel?
Jim Carroll replied to PRESSURE PACKED's question in Residential Pressure Washing
something else to consider guys is using high pressure swivels. it makes for easier pulling on hose becuse they don't twist up, works even better with k7 unloader. I will also rap hose around my back and hold with left hand and twist hose to aid in swinging wand back and forth. I have swivel attached to my whip hose. I used to work out about 5 days a week and used to have forearm trouble due to gripping to tight. I spoke with a trainer that I knew and she advised not to wrap thumber around bar. that would keep me from squeezing to tight. I often do this with my gun. I grip it with my thumb on top of my forefinger. However using the ez pull gun has allowed me not to have any trouble. it also used to help me if i would stretch my forearms by putting my fingers on a solid surface and pushing down to stretch my forearms. the only thing i have now is calusus(sp) on my thumbs and forefingers but no pain. another thing that i used to use was an item that I fabricated that attached to my belt. i made it out of metal for my belt to go through and had qc's on both sides of the metal. i would plug my hose on the bottom end and my whip hose on the top so i was not pulling with my arms. I was using my body to pull the hose. I ended up losing it so i can not post a picture, but if someone is interested in how i made it just call me. -
Got Carpal Tunnel?
Jim Carroll replied to PRESSURE PACKED's question in Residential Pressure Washing
It won't do it if you are down streaming. if you are upstreaming you risk pump damage in the future. -

i CAN SELL YOU THE MATERIAL AND A GUN FOR SPRAYING IT YOURSELF CHEAPER THAN THAT. THE LINERS ARE POLYUREA. MATERIAL COST IS ROUGHLY $1.50 SF AND THE GUN TO SPRAY IT IS ABOUT $500.00. YOU WILL NEED AN AIR COMPRESSOR AND DISPOSABLE DRYERS TO PUT ON THE LINE. YES YOU READ IT RIGHT. AT MY REGULAR JOB WE SELL IT AND IT IS THAT CHEAP TO PURCHASE. ON A PLYWOOD FLOOR YOU WOULD NEED TO PRIME IT BUT THE PRIMER IS NOT THAT EXPENSIVE EITHER. iF ANYONE IS INTERESTED JUST LET ME KNOW.

I know a lot of people have mentioned turbo's wearing out or speed changing. I tried something on a job last week that worked pretty good to get the job finished. I normally have a rebuild kit handy. What I have figured out is that when they slow down they are wearing out. and what i noticed is that the ceramic piece that spins had grooves in it and not completely smooth. this time mine was moving really slow and stopping some, so I was going to try anything. So I took the piece that spins and sanded it with a sanding sponge. that painters use on drywall. I rubbed it at a slight angle on the sponge in various directions until it felt smooth. Replaced it and it ran like a new one. Not sure how long it will last but it lasted long enough for me to finish the job I was on. I will be doing this from now on to get a little more life out of them. I have also noticed that they lasted longer when I was running a K7 unloader.

Multicoat makes a great water based product good for auto & pedestrian traffic. material cost is around $45/gallon. first coat is thinned with water second coat full strength, plus it is around 50% solids. 5 gallons covers 750 s.f. for two coats.

dual lance problems - HELP!
Jim Carroll replied to DustinC's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
one note on rollovers you don't have to use it for low and high pressure, you can put say a 20 degreee on one side and a 40 on the other. -

I have the one on the bottom of the picture. It works great for downstreaming. If your setup is not drawing did you check the soap nozzle to verify that it was the same size that you had been using. -
i'd quit eating popcorn. Hey maybe then we could bend over OPEC and give them one were the sun don't shine. I have seen an ethanol blend at some stations in our state. One thing that helps me is I have a honda civic that gets really good gas mileage that I use for all of my running around. I only drive the gas guzzler (full size Dodge) when I need to. I am trying to figure out how to mount a class 4 hitch on the honda to pull my trailer. maybe add air bags to the suspension and some brakes on the trailer.

I know that there are only a few of us that use the proportioners that come with an X-jet. So this tip is for them. One problem I had was that you bet a pack of 20 and only use maybe 3 of them. So what I did was drill out the remaining proportioners to the diameter that I use most frequently. If you look on the pack it has a corresponding drill diameter size for the particular color. so all you have to do is get a drill bit and drill out the rest of them because they are all smaller.

ron told me I could use a #13 but that I would probably be happier with a #16, so I went with the 16 and I like it alot better than the 13 that I wore out. Thats right they will wear out over time.
