Sounds like you may need a license in MD just to walk down the street! :lgsideway

Thanks Sunbrite and Russell C
mikew replied to Degraffreed's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
I'm kicking myself that I missed this since SunBrite is only 15 minutes away. Unfortunately I had a prior commitment that I couldn't get out of. Sounds like it turned out awesome. Mike -
You can buy a full featured computer now for around $500 - $700. Just like someone else said... unless you are doing some serious gaming or have the need to run many applications at one time then $1500 on a computer would be overkill. Mike

Thanks everyone for the replies! My machine is a cold water belt drive so I don't have to worry about the potential for burner problems yet...but I'll keep than in mind when I step up to a hot machine. Rod - I'm not sure on the UL standard. I'll look tomorrow in the daylight. That is interesting though about being able to take full spray. I wouldn't want to try it though if I didn't need to. I want to avoid the muffer, etc... rusting if I can though. I like my equipment to look as nice as it runs!! Should I do the naval jelly now before it has a chance to rust? Thanks! Mike

Ken, Actually change your account password now. Becuase they have all of the info they need to access your account. They have your email address and your password if you entered it. Also notify PayPal. Mike

Ken, It's a scam... do not enter any info. Put your mouse over the link. You will see that it goes to a non paypal address: paypal.com.registermatters.com I get these emails all of the time. PayPal will never send you an email requesting you to enter info or update info. MIke

For the most part I am with ya. I'm all for the Fairtax...but I will be a little choosy who is pushing it. Mike

I think this may be where the type of accounting method your business uses would apply. If you business uses a cash accounting method then you record income/expenses in the month/year received or spent. My suggestion... seek the help or advice of an accountant. Mike

I think you are right on this one. Someone comes to this board, makes one post slamming cleaning methods, and then... oh, by the way, check into other safer products?!?! What a joke. Mike

January 2006 deck we did
mikew replied to Beth n Rod's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Hi Beth, Thanks for the info. I guess in this case it was easier to pad the whole deck then cover the fence, etc... Do you use the pad close to the house, other objects, etc... and then spray the rest on larger decks? Thanks! Mike -
January 2006 deck we did
mikew replied to Beth n Rod's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Rod, What's the technique... are you dipping the pad in a pail of stain and then applying with the pad, or did you apply another way (sprayer?) and then back brush with the pad? Thanks, Mike -
Hey Jeff, I'm totally amazed as well about how some contractors can be so unreliable. Example 1: We added an addition to our house a few years ago and called around to get estimates to have the concrete slab poured. Out of the dozen or so concrete contractors that I called only 1 showed up and gave me an estimate. His price was fair and he showed up when he said that he would so he got the job. Even after I called the others back they still didn't show up when they said they would. Example 2: I used the same plumbing service 3 times within the last year. Each time I had to call the guy up and say is your guy going to show up today.... When the third guy showed up and started digging without giving me an estimate I was pissed. I made it clear that I wanted to know how much before they started work. I went out there and made them stop digging. I asked the guy how much it was going to cost. He said he wouldn't know until he dug up the leak. Now... you could hear the water spraying!! I told the guy to lift the green lid off the box on the ground and he could see the leak!! He didn't even try to see where the water was spraying that you could hear plain as day! He then proceeds to tell me it was going to be $350 - $550 dollars. I told him to pack his stuff. He asked what I had in mind. Told him I thought it would be less than $200 to fix. He said this was their standard practice for any yard repairs. I told him about the leak they fixed last year for $300 which was a buried leak. He then started back tracking after he realized that I was a previous customer who he was trying to gouge. He ended up doing it for $200 but I felt cheated. I will never use them again. They had it fixed in 15 minutes. He then proceeded to tell me because of the low price he charged that he couldn't afford to replace the cutoff valve near the leak so he just took it out. One of my main goals with my business is to show up when I say that I will be there. It's just part of having good customer service in my opinion. Mike

Anyone ever used or seen a surface cleaner like this? http://cgi.ebay.com/Turbo-Twister-Pressure-Washer-Surface-Cleaner-36-Sweep_W0QQitemZ7587700770QQcategoryZ46536QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Mike

Don, I would buy the surface cleaner first. I think you will find that an extension wand just isn't used much. Are you using the xjet? Why don't you try using a 6 - 8' lance on your gun for the high peaks. The few extra feet may solve your problem on the tall houses. It would also be cheaper than an ext. wand. Mike

I 2nd what Celese said. I got my insurance through Joe Walters without any problem. Mike

I'm using Citracleen as well and love the product. I rarely have to scrub anything and I use very little pressure. Mike - I would be interested to here how the Sunbrite citrus cleaner works. I saw it on their web site and wondered if it was like Citracleen. Mike

Thanks Ken for taking the time to write this. Really great information. Looking forward to the next installment! Mike
