  1. First woodtux job

Rod- The pads give the ability to squeeze/push the stain around cupped or popped ends. The biggest problem you will have is that the pads will eventually tear and small chunks will come out. This usually happens from nail pops and unlevel boards. We keep our pads constantly wet by leaving them in the stain from day to day so they do not dry out. Works well if you are using the same color/product and you are doing decks consistently. We probably average about 6-8 decks before we toss them in the garbage. We have a new coupon that if you buy 6(a case) or more replacement pads the price will drop to $8.50 each. 6MOPREPLACEMENTPADCOUPON

Since getting the Wood Tux "Classic" in stock we have had zero complaints. No sticky/tacky decks and yet to see anyone with shiny spots. Everyone who buys from our "brick and mortar" store in Michigan uses the 18" speed mop for the floors. This probably helps with over application and "shiny" spots.

We started using the total square footage as a marketing tool for our restoration services about 10 years ago. If you do the math it really shows. Example: if you have done have done 300 decks it would be 300 x average square footage (500 feet or so) = 150000 square feet restored. Looks very good on paper and customers like it. I have sold numerous jobs on that alone.

We have 60 pails of the Wood Tux "Classic" Warm Honey Gold in stock. We applied it last Thursday to a 1200 square foot deck. After one hour we walked on the floor to touch up a spot, it was mostly dry and there was zero tackiness. Coverage was 6 gallons for 1200 feet. The homeowner was extremely happy with the final color and look.
  6. We use the pads for all the decks we do rough or smooth. Instead of cleaning the pad out when done we keep a few inches of stain on the bottom of the bucket so the pad will stay wet and not dry out. When using the Wooster bucket and lid it will not spill when driving around. Be careful of nail pops. These will tear the pads.
  7. Sorry but we do not use Pay Pal. I did add the Bucket to the website though: Wooster Wide Boy Bucket: TheSealerStore.com
  8. They work really well with an 20" paint tray or a large window washers bucket. We have the Wooster 4 Gallon buckets for sale in our retail store but not on the internet. We can sell them on the internet if anyone is interested. They would be about $29 plus shipping. We will through in a lid also.

  10. I agree. New cedar can be difficult to stain with a heavy body stain. It just doesn't want to absorb very well. I would go with the Woodrich Timberoil or Stain and Seal. Easy to apply on new cedar. Clear "Patina" will not offer UV Protection since it has very little Trans Oxides to absorb the Sun. It will gray naturally while preserving the wood from other elements.
  11. WTW tips

We have them. $10 for 100 plus shipping. If you order a 5 Gallon of Wood Tux we can waive the shipping by just putting them in the box: TheSealerStore.com: Wood Tux Brochures Basket Contents
  12. What does it take???

As a Vendor I would expect out of us: 1. Communication 2. Expedited shipping 3. Quality control for any issues
  13. I agree. I had a builder leave metal shavings all over the deck last year. Once the water hits it will turn into rust and darken. Try a Phosphoric or Citric brightener. It will go away.

"high and mighty"? Is that what you get smelling fumes and lifting 5 gallons buckets all day?
  15. WTW tips

We have sold/used about 100 5's of Wood Tux in Michigan so far and only had a problem with drying on the first few in late April when the temperature was in the 50-60 degrees range and dropped to the 30's at night. No one has had any issues since. Don't over apply and you will not have any issues. I have walked on decks 3 hours after application and they were already 90% dry with no stickiness/tackiness.
  16. The bucket is in the corner of Jarrods Picture
  17. The tray that comes with it is useless for a contractor. I would suggest a Wooster Big Boy Bucket or a normal 18" paint tray so that you can dip the pad much easier. We use the Buckets since they can hold about 3 gallons of stain.
  18. About the same in durability. The main difference is that the speed mop is "18 wide. A 400 square foot deck floor can be coated in 10-15 minutes.

  22. The only thing positive about SuperDeck is that it is extremely easy to remove. Go with TWP, it will not turn black like SuperDeck.
  23. Here is a picture of a deck that was done last summer with the "miracle" 25 year warranty. Needless to say the homeowner was very upset that he spent $3000 on a 600 s. foot deck. This was done by a comany called SuperSeal and they used the seal-it product from Canada. www.opwdecks.com/images/supersealed2004.jpg
  24. That's the thing with these companies. These are not deck restoration companies that have learned the ins and outs through years of experience. They are relatively new to the business and there for the quick buck. If you read the seal-it.ca website they will even state that their product will make your stain/tinted sealer last 300% longer. That is a complete joke! Your TWP or Ready Seal will still fade at the normal rate whether or not this seal-it product is used. I feel for all of the customers who buy into their system without really understanding the truth.
  25. They have been slowly offering additional colors. Honeytone and Rustic were added to the 100 line a few years ago and will be added to the 500 line this year. Unfortunately there is more than one manufacturer of TWP. If you get your product directly through Amteco I don't believe they offer these new colors. You will need to go through Gemini Coatings and that may not be possible. It depends on where your supplier gets it from.
