  1. Equipment

Man save yourself alot of touble by puting a filter on right away, I wish I did when I started, but I guess I learn how to clean my valves out and change the unloaders too!!! I came across a nifty lil filter that I been using on my machine and it works great its just a lil brass filter that the filter screw into the side at 45* angle. When I first started I didn't use any but then I went to using a small filter that has the glass or plastic bowl on the bottom. It dont have to big but just enough to catch that grit going thru there!! It will save you a pile of trouble!!!

I'm not really for sure yet. Me and a friend is thinking about taking 2 camping trailer downs and pay my trip down, and he is the one getting things lined up, so I don't know much about it yet or if it will fall thru. Who knows?? I thot that if I could get a payed trip down and do some looking around while I'm there I may get hooked up with a contact. Don't even know if I get down or not at this point tho. I hope it works tho..

From my understanding to go into New Orleans you have to be Hazwoper( Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Standard ) certified.Do any one of yall have this or know much about it? Thanks, Duncan I have no idea what this is but lets find out! Me and a nother fella was doing some checking into this too. I may be going down this weekend just to get away for the weekend and do some checking things out in the mean time while I'm there. I'm not sure if I am going or not I hope things turn out so that I can!!
  6. house pictures

In my opinion, and the way that I break my house washing down is: The "house wash" is everything from the flashing/drip edge down which includes gutters. Yes, a dirty roof does detract from a clean "house wash", but there is a big difference between spending an extra 15 minutes on a job making the gutters shine vs. 2 to 4 hours cleaning a roof. The price tag is to high, therefore it must be listed seperatly. Same goes for Concrete, wood etc. I can throw my cost for cleaning the gutters in without making a huge difference in the price (almost unnoticeable). The customer might not realize what a difference streaked, ugly gutters can make being off set by a clean exterior. Basicly, your including somthing in your house wash (and granted, the price is a little higher) that makes your work look better, and the customer is none the wiser to the small amount extra that they are paying for it. I'm with you there!!!! You got to make it look good whether the customer is satified with a 1/2 job because other people are looking, and they drive past and say, man they should have done there gutters too, that is a -A.
  7. I have a fella that it is just about a year now that I done it and I got$100 out of a $300 bill the interest is going to eat him up. I got on him atime or two but I'm getting ready to get serious with him. Maybe just show up some day with a helper and get a check or load up his Craftsman tool box as he watches!! Other than that fella I don't have much trouble.

  12. Washing a house

Yea I'd say wish there were some other things that were self cleaning!! Just think if you could choose what you want to be self cleanin. Truck would always be clean of trash and dirk, your trailer clean on the inside and out, the Grime Scene would not have dirt in it such as know it alls and such. know what I mean? would be great!!
  13. Gas prices

Hey I like the sound of that!!! I may just try that!!! LOL!!!!
  14. Gas prices

Yea I copy you on the phone call before you go to the job just to make sure it is ready to go. I have that happen every now and then. That sure cuts the profit if it is your mistake and not theirs. If their mistake you can get money if not its out of my pocket. Hate when that happens!!! My guys said they paid $2.99 at the Flying-J in VA this morn. and that is always the cheapest place on I-81. They come back thru there tomorrow night we see what the price is then. Surcharge got to go up!! Good Luck!!!!!! That is diesel prices. sorry.
  15. Gas prices

Just wondering does anybody else put a fuel charge on the invoice to the custumer? I do for the commercial jobs, but then again everybody don't travel as far as I do. Man at these prices you about got to do something.

Got to have QC!!!!! ain't no other way!!!!!! Use the a plier to get that ridge off like was said. Stack them for longer wiggly wand, yes sir!!!! Works good to rinse with, just pop it off and rinse. You do have to keep a supply of O-Rings on hand tho too, they go bad and leak and that is one thing I can't stand!!!!!!

I pay them from the time they leave the shop till they get back. I pay 2 times a month and overtime. I have lots of overtime because we travel up to 2.5 hrs some days put a big day in and that gets them overtime.
  24. Van or Trailer

I go the trailer route because I can use my trucks for other things. When I first started washing I only had one vehicle my truck I took care to make sure it stayed clean inside and drove it everywhere.
