Was the reason you cant use bleach because of environmental concerns? I would make sure that some of the methods or products suggested are approved by the water company prior to using them. Our municipality does soil samples regularly around our water tanks, pumping stations, and reserviors. CYA!!

Never use a pressure washer on shingles. You will do more harm than good. Depending on the roof, sounds like a good job for a pump-up sprayer and a garden hose rinse. Or... hire a roof cleaning contractor!

Hydro Tek Pro Line Pressure Washer?
veteran replied to Shawn F.'s topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
I bought my current machine used from a contractor getting out of the biz. Now I pay Russ's mortgage with all the repairs it constantly needs. Take Ronnies advice and get a new one from Russ. Money well spent. -
How long are your estimates good for?
veteran replied to Beth n Rod's topic in Business Topics & Tips
Most of the time my quotes are either sold or dead within 3 months for residential. Commercial contracts have a clause allowing for pricing increases due to cost of services sold every year. -
a deckster? or are we talking about something else?

I was lucky. Porter paints had a deal for all it's commercial cleints. I paid $249 for their course and got a $199 coupon! I heard that Sherwin Williams was running some specials too. Might be too late now, but it never hurts to ask:)

100 year old interior brick wall acid wash?
veteran replied to buckeyepw's question in Having A "Blast" (sand, soda, dry ice, etc.)
Locally, I can get better quality chems from a brick/block dealer. I think those walls were washed with a prosoco restore chem. -

No. I havent gone back to eat at there. Next time I am in the area, I will stop by and take some pics. I think its a vegetarian restaurant, so it kinda fell off my radar. -

Here are a couple pics of an interior wall I acid-washed last year. The brick was over 100 years old and no pressure washers were used per insurance company. Some tuck pointing was needed, but was pre-existing to the brick cleaning. The brick has been sealed since these pics were taken and is the interior of a new hip restaurant in Louisville, KY. -
What do you like least about wood care?
veteran replied to Beth n Rod's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
am I the only person attacked by several wasp nest every year? or how about staining around a pool deck on a 100+ day and your customer specifically complained that the last guy went swimming, so I got the job. -
