  5. What if.....

Well I have a good one for you guys. My full time gig was a police officer until I was wrongfully accused of something I wish not to disclose. So now I have turned to powerwashing for the mean time until my case goes to trial and god willing a jury will not find me guilty and set me free. Once that happens I will still stay in the painting and powerwashing biz and try to capitalize the market and take the city that I work for money$$$.
  6. Deck in CT

I spoke to Sue today she was only looking for advice and she allowed the 1st contractor to come in and finish the work.
  7. Web Sites

Does anyone know a good webmaster who designs sites for a decent fee. I am looking to get this done a.s.a.p. I am running out of biz cards and yard signs so now is a good time for me to get the site up so I can add it to my advertising.
  8. KC I had a similar situation this summer with a solid cabots that we had to remove, it was extremely tough. The solid will not come out as well as a semi. You will have to take your time in preperation using hd-80 or f-18 boost. The deck we did it on was a 1200 square foot and just took forever. I can say that after the job was done it really did not like theway the deck came out. Mind you the semi we put on it was not our choice. It was the homeowners. With something like of this nature I try to reccommend a solid to the customer it really makes it easier on your back.
  9. Hello all, I stained a deck last week pressure treated wood and it had cabots solid bluestone gray on it. I washed the deck hd-80 and neutrilize it , looks great after that. Well I applied the Sikkens Cape cod gray and boy this thing came out very blotty in certain areas. Looks heavy and light. Any suggestions as to fixing this mess?
  10. blotty deck

Guys I will have to take a few pics, but I washed this deck twice. I am sure I removed the old solid stain on it. But man this one really got the best of me. How about sanding the spots that look heavy with the stain? Any suggestions on that?

  12. Flat Surface Cleaners/Spinners anyone have this tool ? And how would you rate it, is it worth the investimant? Please let me know?
  13. Hi all im workin on a deck right now that has Cabots bluestone solid stain. I have talked about this in a previous post and now im doing the job. After applying the f-18 and at least 15-30 minutes of dwell time I was able to remove as good portion of it. But im having some trouble with a few cabots streaks that are left on the deck. I dont want to go anymore than 600 psi or get any closer to the deck to ruin the wood. (pressure treated) I have ordered the hd-80 and is not here in time due to u.p.s. Can anyone put some input as to how I can get these cabots bluestone streaks out that the pressure washer will not remove. I also thought about using a square sander with a 60 grit paper on the bottom , what do you guys think?
  14. cabots

yes Ken a square sander , I thought by using a 60 grit it might help to remove the streaks. Let me know what you think ohh by the way happy 4th to all.
  15. cabots

Hey Ken its a big area to cover with a orbital, do you think a square sander will work? I am going to tackle this monday july 4th for a few hours.
  16. cabots

  17. flat surface cleaner

  18. Well was offered to do a job in town on a 1100 sq ft deck. Deck looks nice but it was not well taken care of. After looking at the deck and asking the home owner what type of solid stain is on your pressure treated deck. He says Cabots Blue stone solid paint. OHH NO I said to myself, how the heck do I get this stuff off. Now im wondering if my f-18 will stripp this stuff of. Anyone with a good idea on this one. Maybe another type of stripper to remove the cabots ?
  19. Hey all its been a while since my last post. But I have come accross a problem with a cedar wood home. I was asked today to powerwash the front of the home only were mildew has set in from no direct sunlite. The house seems to have sherwins woodscapes on it in a light brown color. I am a little curious about washing the home because I use the f-18 product and f-8 brightener. I am afraid to apply the f-18 which may remove the solid color stain that is on the house. Please let me know what your thoughts are and how should I tackle this job. 2nd question: I also have a friend that has a mahagoney wooddeck and applied the austrailian nat timber oil. He says that it looks nice on one side but on the other it looks patchy. What do you think has happened to his work. His wood was never washed and the deck is only 3 weeks old. Thank to all
  20. Hey all my buddy and I are working on his deck today just finish putting on the floor and its Mahagoney wood. The color looks great and he wants to keep it that way . Can anyone recommend a good clear coat sealer. He is looking for top of the line product. Can anyone help. Thanks

  23. Het guys its been a while since my last post, thats because I have been busy with a few decks. I tried to load the pics as a attachment but it says the pic is to big. I am not tosure how to compress it so if you vets are intersted in seeing how my 1st few jobs went please send me your emails I would love to get veteran feedback. Its the only way im going to learn. Now next topics stripping paint of a pressure treated deck? Humm have that job coming up next week im sure the pressure washer will remove some of it but not all I am only going 700 psi on the deck I dont ruin it. Any suggestions as to what to use. I have the f-18 but not the hd-80 any suggestions? Thanks to all that help me get better in this biz. Ohh see my marketing post also need help with signs
  24. Just curious as to what powerwashing company's are doing for service after they have powerwashed and stained a deck/patio. Or even for washing homes and concrete walkways. What are you guys offering for the next year around? thanks to all that reply
  25. Hey all , Since I have been powerwashing and staining decks I have noticed that when i powerwash a deck . I get that weathered look out of it and the natural color comes back. After washing it I notice that the pressure washer does not get all of the weatered look out. So what I am trying to say is it has some gray on it still. What am I doing wrong is it that im not hitting it with the washer enough? I am using a 3200 psi honda washer with a 30% tip. Also I apply the stain in the areas of the rails and spindles and i get blotty spots can anyone help with this as well. Everything I do is by hand and brush. I would love to cut my time in half any suggestions with power equipment? THANKS GUYS
