  1. Burnt and melted

Looking for some advice from the braintrust. A fire restoration contractor called me to attempt to clean some brick and stone that was "charred" from a fire. Most of the soot came off, but there was one area where a phone juction box and cable wires were melted. Above the melted wires was heavy charring that would not come off, and under it, it seems to have dripped when melting, leaving rock hard tar like stains. I am mainly concearned with the dripps on the decorative stone since it is so obvious. Any tidbits on how to effectively remove this? Thanks in advance.
