  1. hi coachs, the final ratio coming out of the nozzle applied to the siding should be 10:1 to 14:1 depending on how "thick" or what color the mildew is, thats what the "dirt" usually is, it relly depends on your area and what you are washing off to finally determine what your housewash mix should consist of, ideally your set up should be the pwasher and a downstrem injector with the appropriate nozzle, an xjet usually means you have to carry buckets of chems around, get an injector that will work with your gpm and nozzle combination and put a chem tank with straight bleach in itand just let the injector siphon it out...
  2. Sharpen your plumbing skills for rig building pipe roll and toobz they got free lite versions it's fun and free check em out in app store...ha ha..another fun game not related to water flow is tiki totems have fun.
  3. removing gutter streaks in cold weather

I use purple power full strength in winter but I have to spray carburetor cleaner on the brush with the p power it works but gutter streaks are almost impossible to clean once temps get below 60 f...I tried hot water didn't work for me plus I think uv rays have alot to do with it..u know those stereaks are a oxidization prob with the paint so sometimes it's just not cleanable without removing paint a prob I've had in the summer but try the Walmart carb cleaner it works for me.
  4. i have a 12 gal tank mounted in a van, the pump and hose reel are fix mounted in the van too, the only draw back is having to pull a 2nd hose out but its not too bad. i havent ever rinsed out the pump it has had chem in it now for 2 years no probs at all with the pump.
  5. i use a pumptec pump i think its the same one thats used on the deckster, 200 psi @ 1 gpm. have a dedicated hose reel with 200ft of 3/8" hose. made a couple of lances one 4ft and one 12 ft with qc's that hold a 40 degree nozze for low gutters and the 12ft lance uses a cat pro chem nozzle that sprays 30 ft. for the high ones. i also have a 30 ft extension pole for when i have to brush. this set up also doubles as a stain sprayer. works great.
  6. i agree with that, just bleach the whole thing it will even it out.
  7. hi hugh glad to hear things are picking up for you. been slow here with the drought and the housing market goin down. got a big job comin up that will help make up for the slow times though...im still working outta that van too!
  8. i do roofs, i will call you tomorrow. im in douglasville. my number is 770-596-2964.
  9. Streaks

if the sun dries it on you may have to brush it then rinse, oxidized paint around window frames can cause it too. dont know why ur using car wax in ur house wash, that could cause the prob too. i use bleach and liquid laundry detergent it rinses away every time except when its uper hot, try to rinse it before it has a chance to "'bake"' on.
  10. How Can THIS Be Good For Business ??

you know it takes more than just chlorine to clean a roof...hoses, pumps, etc etc...so what if the info of how is on the net, you can find info on how to build a house too but if someone wants to do it themselves they will, if you are busy enough cleaning roofs why worry about it?
  11. can I do this?

9gpm is a bit high i think, you can end up wasting alot of chem with it. 6 gpm would be better, 9 gpm would be great for rinsing tho. go with a 5/8 hose. you will need two tanks one chem and one water, you can splice off the suction line of the pump and use a needle valve or a gate valve to vari the flow of chem. or you can have two tanks one with roof mix and one with siding mix but then you will need a third tank with water as a float tank and for rinsing. the more efficient set up would be the two tanks with a valve to control the strenght of the mix. i use a low pressure pump for siding it works great.
  12. i got some deck scapes oil based stain on hardy plank, tried a strong mix of hydroxide let dwell and scrubed with brush, wouldnt phase it, tried some carb cleaner got some off but not all, re applied that 3 times still wont come off, anyone know what i can use to get it off?

  17. Making shutters shine

an extension pole and a window cleaning strip washer. or a brush for louvered shutters should work.
  18. red dirt on vinyl

i use muratic at 20:1, then wand off with 40 deg tip, any set in stained areas treat with oxalic in pump up. the muratic does the trick 99% of the time. straight lances without the angled end are best for foundations. on new construction i use a dual lance with 2 40 deg tips to keep the pressure down as to not skin up the crete.
  19. the simple green didnt work any better than gs or pp. i used it full strength. what does work is to apply the butyl, (gs pp or sg) to the gutter, spray carb cleaner on your brush and brush the gutter. i did that today on 2 homes and it came off fairly easy. i was able to do about a 20 ft section before re-applying the carb cleaner. carb cleaner works!
  20. i have some houses for an hoa that i do every year, year round. the gutter streaks usually melt right off with a 3:1 dillution of gs or purple power. today the gutter streaks wouldnt budge, even at full strength. temps in the upper 40's. the temps definately have something to do with it, ive noticed when it gets below about 65 deg the streaks are harder to clean. i dont have hot water but if you do i believe that if you heated the gutter up with some hot h2o it might help. i tried a bucket of hot water dipping the brush in it didnt make any difference. the only way i get the streaks off without hot h2o was to use carb cleaner, which contained tulane, acetone and methanol, and then apply gs at full strength and scrub. i got some simple green today will try it tomorrow and see if i get better results. i checked the msds on the sg it uses buytl cellusolve and no sod hydroxide, a different mix than the gs and purple power.

  24. Bleach Dilema

my ratio is 12:1 bleach with detergent, every 12 gals water 1 gal bleach, has worked well.
  25. I used to be a nice guy, but...

it can really interfere with your work when you have lawnmowrs and hoses in the same yard, also if you are spraying bleach and people are out there walking around you could screw up everbodys clothes and get them wet and soapy, as well as soaking their power tools. i wont do a job if they schedule me and someone else at the same time, i will reschedule the job for another day or wait untill they are done. it doesent happen that often so its not a big deal if i have to do that. it doesent bother me if the h.o.s are not home, but i do like it when they are there so i can get paid on the spot.
