  1. We quoted this customer for the driveway and the customer asked me to quote for the deck too...I got the deck job and the driveway will follow soon when her budget allows it. I have done my own Deck with RS (Dark Red) before and it worked out well - wooden house and about the same color as the RS I already had. We used an applicator pad and hand sprayers to apply the RS. I had a new Deckster spray nozzle that I attached to my hand pump - it was problematic and did not mist continually and the cone spray pattern was not greatest -I have a backpack sprayer but did not want to mess it up. I used a cleaner and a brightener and left it for a week as we had showers just about every day. We have a digital moisture tester and it read a 000 - anything below 12% and we can apply stain. Anyway it came out nice and the customer was really happy but I really dislike pump up sprayers. I have an old Chapin that is my old faithful - all the new crap can go back it the truck...for ever. I have since rebuilt the Chapin and I am hoping that I can get a fan nozzle if that is the one to get and try again. I think because I was having sprayer problems that I was heavy on the coat on the deck - Tracy/Pete say that should get 700sqft to a 5 gal bucket - I didn't I used 5 gal on the 450 sqft deck and was wondering if that was the norm. Anyway here are the before and after pictures. [/img]
  2. Thanks Rick Your numbers would be spot on. What do you use as an applicator/sprayer type? Rob
  3. ipe deck, pool

Only time I have to take the wash water to a landfill is when I do a grease spill - other wise I filter to 5 micron and put it on their garden - the trash bag of dirt is dry when I toss it away. I always recover because its faster especially on big areas (2000-2500 sqft per hour hot water only). Sounds like you leave everything there too. But hey what ever you do is what you do - I have given up preaching and trying to convert people. Did you watch my City of Norcross GA video YouTube - USA Rose Inc using a Clean & Recovery Incline Vac. If you can do that as fast as that and move on to the next job then good on you - really I mean that.
  4. ipe deck, pool

Check out these videos on my www USA Rose: Home; Environmentally safe no-splash power wash and water recycling system These are links to the videos on youtube that are on the bottom of the services page. Rob
  5. Newbie question

Rus - what a gentleman you are. I need to call you about the free house wash deal you told me to call you about. Rob
  6. ipe deck, pool

I don't want to be a wise ass here but we recover our used wash water instantly as opposed to re arranging the customers dirt and letting it go in the pool as well as everywhere else too....
  7. Wall Washing with Cody the Dog

must be great with the gum too I guess
  8. Hose

Sams Club has seasonal hose - lifetime with HD brass ends (they sell 2 grades or did when I got mine - go for the commercial one)
  9. Thanks - I am now a TGS member. I use black hose R2 (4500psi + 2 wire) 3/8" for my portable PW unit that has a cox hose reel attached. I use a 100'+50'lengths - my theory is when the 50' length on the end wears out, it does not cost that much to replace just the end piece. Problem is it does not roll on well, because of the join, but is a useful length for most small jobs. Does anyone do as I do and buy 50' hoses still? Does anyone use this same theory? How long does your hose last? When I get my big unit in 2/3 weeks time (10GPM/15GPM) , I will have a 300' electric reel and I want to use 1/2" R2 hose on that reel. Should I use 100/200/300 foot lengths - all in 1/2" or at least the 1st 100' in 1/2" and the balance in 3/8 ??????? Please let us know what you use and your advice on this subject. I tried to find if this was covered in any other forums - if this is an old subject please forgive my ignorance and direct me to that post.
  10. Hawk pics

Tony Excellent pictures - great you had a nice camera with you too - I all too often see something and have to tell and not show what I saw... Rob
  11. Copy of Walmarts RFP

I saw and spoke to Jim Bob at the Roswell GA Walmart Mansell street store recently - water running into the storm water drain, never heard of clean and recovery, does a couple of stores. Had a hot water rig and a hand wand. Tell me again why I invested in all my equipment and I did not even quote on the contract.
  12. Last week's before and after

Great job What is your love brew - you can PM me if you don't want the competition to see what you are using. Did you X jet or downstream it on? What was the dwell/scrubbing etc. Thanks
  13. Please help. I did search for similar topics but came up without a good answer. I cleaned a high school kitchen last week as a donation with my Clean and Recovery rig. They gave me a letter acknowledging that I made a donated and thanked me. Do I need to just attach paperwork to show the value of the donation and claim it as a detuction or do they need to specify the value on the letter they gave me? Rob
  14. I just have to show off.....

Celeste Well done - good job you did there, I have a son doing very well at NGCSU (North Georgia College and State University) - one of the few military colleges in the USA. Rob
  15. Dreg's List

I wonder if there is going to be a after the saw horse was kicked out from underneath him. I have never asked anyone to stand on a saw horse for a picture. I usually ask people to smile...maybe he did not want to walk on the masterpiece trekking dirt on it and all.
  16. Dreg's List

Wonder where he got the white rocks - cool. Now what did he charge for this 2 week project? These are beaut pictures for one of those Master Card priceless picture jokes....

  22. Powerwashing in the winter

Scott I reclaim because its faster - if I can do the same job in 1/2 the time I just increased my profit. We are all here for profit and at 1 cent per square foot there is not a whole lot of profit. If the PM will pay 8 cents per sqft I am trying for 10c per sqft. If you can justifty to him why 10 cents is the number you can get it or at least have the budget changed for next go round. There was a question about equipment freezing protection between jobs - and tanks freezing - my equipment (pumps, heater box, unloader and hi pressure hose) has an antifreeze system. I vacuum dry my garden hose and my fresh tank is heated. I try keep my black water tank empty (200 deg hot water that has been reclaimed) and this tank shares a dividing wall with my heated fresh water water tank. You are in Sylvester GA I will gladly meet you anytime somewhere and give you a demo and show you my Clean and Recovery rig. Rob
  23. Parking garage

No reclaiming? What happened to the CWA in IL? Get connected with someone with an environmental Clean and Recovery set up - its faster, and if it faster, its more money for you. Rob
  24. Powerwashing in the winter

With this technology now working so well I wonder if the guys and gals up North will still be taking 3 odd months off every winter just because of the ice on the ground. In 4 years that means they spent a year waiting for warm weather - I know traditionally that time was for vacation, marketing/planning and RT's....but the bills still have to be paid! I did a demo at the STL. RT this weekend with my Clean and Recovery rig - it went well and the Comfort Inn got a free cleaning out of it. All in all it was a great RT and I really learnt a lot - thanks Don. Rob
  25. Powerwashing in the winter

John That looks cold - I did a job in Atlanta last week end when we packed up at 11 AM (when the resturant opened) it warmed up to 24 degrees. When using a wand the hot water froze within seconds. I was worried that they might not be able to open but when I used my floor cleaning tool with hot water and my Clean and Recovery rig the ice was gone and it was bone dry - no ice could form as there was no water on the ground. Now the only thing from keeping me from working will be me getting too cold and getting out of bed on those cold days of course....
