  1. I have electric hose reels and also manual hose reels as well - 100 foot + sections are essential to using these time savers (hose reels) as the join gets in the way when you are winding it up - I could not imagine using a 50 or even worse a 25 foot hose with a hose reel. Get a cheap hose reel to start with you will save time which = money on every job.
  2. Resignation

Those Wingdings written in english.... Should anyone need assistance in planning or promoting networking events, please contact me directly! = what Celeste was saying. Celeste Thank you for your work with the promoting /sponsoring/doing etc etc with the most successful NC RT. What a note to end on.... someone did the GA RT in Dec and just quit - you did the NC RT and just quit... is this a trend or am I reading too much between the lines??? Rob Celeste
  3. OK - this is new for me - a hose perforator. Its a piece of wood with a handle on it with nails sticking out just long enough to pierce the outer cover of hi pressure hose for getting rid of the pimples / bumps caused by moisture being caught between the outer cover and the wire. These pimples/bumps are not only a hot water phenomena. and the perforations ensure a long life. Is this news to anyone? Rob
  4. cleaning up the neighborhood

Great job and great slide show as well. When you clean the roof then cut those 2 over grown bushes in front of that baby and you would have done a major curbside appeal upgrade and the mould would not grow back as quickly. Did you wax it - it looks like it has a nice sheen to it? What do those guys charge for the slideshow? Thanks for sharing. Rob
  5. direct drive

The diference between direct drive and belt driven = direct drive uses a smaller space but the close proximity of the pump and motor gives you a overheating pump that does not last very long - belt drive is a bigger footprint but a cooler running pump. The Honda engine will last as long IMO but the pump is the difference. There have been big improvements in direct drives but think about very few industrialunits are direct drive. Some hot water units use direct drive in the interest of compactness. Work out the cu (Cleaning units) before you buy a pressure washer - 2000psi at 1.6GPM = 3200 cu 3000psi at 3.6GPM =10800 cu If you buy a unit with not enough cu you will be wasting your time and your customers as well. Put another way a drive way will take 10 hours and look OK for a short time but with more cu you could do the driveway in 2/3 of the time - it will look better and because of the shorter time used this reduces your cost per hour and increases your profit $$$. Don't sell your services for too few $$$ you should get about $100+ per hour at least. Rob
  6. Good work Rus This is not the Rapid type that I have -only similar - Is that the same type that Chris has or is his still different to this?
  7. Why men have better friends....

Why men have better friends Friendship between Women: A woman didn't come home one night. The next day she told her husband that she had slept over at a friend's house. The man called his wife's 10 best friends. None of them knew about it. Friendship between Men: A man didn't come home one night. The next day he told his wife that he had slept over at a friend's house. The woman called her husband's 10 best friends. Eight of them confirmed that he had slept over, and two claimed that he was still there!
  8. MO Boys found

Yea but that will probably be just up his street and too much of a good time - I still vote - swing the man, sorry fruit.
  9. MO Boys found

Hang by the neck till dead is my vote.
  10. Rus From what I understand - his does not have the snap ring like the Rapid Reel - I can't really imagine how its put together without the ring. On the Rapid Reel without removing the snap ring to change the hose is firstly quite difficult and you stand a chance of bending/breaking your swivel off the live center. I hope he sends some pictures and we could advise him how to do it. Rob
  11. What is the Brand? How about some pictures to explain what it looks like - I have some Rapid reels and they have a big outside C-Clip keeping them together? Rob
  12. F-350 Dually

Cujo (Pam's Pressure Washing)has a new Dually - he loves it apparently.
  13. Rob 3 years now and no leaking or busting - what pressure / flow and are you using hot water. Who is the manufacturer of that hose? I only ever use black hose but will now consider changing (I have not had any problem with hose marking the area's cleaned). I use black because its cheaper but only get about 2 years and I am still PT. Nobody ever ran over one of my hoses. I use strict hose management and wont let it happen for fear of damage to my hoses. Thanks for the reply Rob
  14. Where do you get your hose on a 500ft reel? What the $ I have a hydraulic power pack but no crimper - who supplies them? Rob
  15. Ron Thanks for your time the other day - it was very informative. I like your idea of solid connections as they would roll easier onto the hose reel. Do you have a hose crimper to put these on or do you use a local hydraulic hose shop. Which brings me to my next question - do you or anybody else for that matter buy your hose in baulk on a big roll and cut and crimp when needed - if so is that a big saving? Prices... I have recently paid $90 for 100' R2 3/8 and $150 for 100' R2 1/2 all with male /female couplings. Rob
  16. Alan A while ago you said that you would be replacing all your 3/8" R2 hose to 1/2" R2 hose - how has that turned out - probably too soon to say if your hoses are lasting longer but I am sure you will find less backpressure on your pumps will give longer service intervals. Rob
  17. Is that 3/8 2 wire hose? What's in the repair kit? Hi pressure tape? How long can it keep you going? Thanks Rob
  18. 20 views now... and no comments yet - all I hear is crickets..... is there anyone out there?
  19. Reels

Core Collapse - this will happen if you run your pressure washer with the hose on the reel. It should be unwound.
  20. Oil change

Mine has a dipstick to check the level... so I never need to know how much goes in. LOL
  21. I got a cheapie at Sams Club - seasonal item for $63 that was a real deal.
  22. Sodium Hypochlorite Prices
