Next generation Rock & Roller!
-
People to People Student Ambassador - Madison Borrego
Celeste replied to Beth n Rod's question in The Club House
LOL - How scary is it that there is another generation of Beth & Celeste coming through :) -
Ditto - not to mention......the roofs here seem to be a separate animal altogether. The black stuff is everywhere and there are a few around that JUST advertise for roofs - no houses or gutters.

This is the same program Hannah was invited to - We are so proud of both Hannah & Maddie! Go Smart Girls! -
I'm with William & Randy - gutters are part of an exterior housewash, not an addon. Now, INSIDES, that's a different animal. And just to mess with everybody's numbers here, if we do a gutter clean OUT, then we include cleaning the outside of the gutters too!

Michael - you say you're learning but you're again trying to reinvent the wheel. There are threads that address this. FIND one.

Please Help me Ultilize my Current Equipment
Celeste replied to Plazaman's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Okay, so NOW you pop back......the signature rule (which should have been done FIRST) may have alleviated some of my crankiness, but look at the first thing you said to us....... "I AM NOT A PW CONTRACTOR..." You should probably not be assuming things either - more than few have the same $2M policy HOWEVER, ours specifies power washing so we can, does yours? As to what the best equipment for your purpose, there are thousands of suggestions, opinions and advise in thousands of threads. As a professional contractor, you should know how valuable everyone's time is here - use the search feature. -
There will be a live feed attempted but this thing is on Friday, Saturday and some of Sunday - At a minimum you should try to swing over for a bit anytime between Thurs nite and Sun Afternoon.......seriously, there will be about a million years of combined experience there. Come shake hands and buy somebody a beer - you'll learn a LOT!

Plazaman - please fill out your signature. Second - how are you doing this "not really" as a job, but taking money I would expect - without insurance and being a company? I'm going to come off as a biatch here, but it's guys like you that hurt those of us that DO this as a career.... and yet, we answer :( -
An elderly estimate.

We're reeealll careful about how, when and why we discount other than the "automatic" kind for military, law enforcement and other public servants. The large majority of our seniors here have ALL the money so senior discounts only apply if WE feel the need is there. Guess this is another reason to always meet with a customer :) -
And I'm just confused - maybe I need to call Mr. William and get a translation? I still haven't figured out why Randy's professionalism is indicative of a lack of competition? But HEY - so glad you're happy in Maryland!!! (sorry BNR!;))

V - Couple of things: 1) Please fill out a signature 2) Are you trying to start a business? 3) If the answer to (2) is yes, you should register to come to Myrtle Beach next weekend - I know it's not far! National Cleaning Expo - Mobile Cleaning Events. With 150 pressure washing related companies, distributors, etc... in one place, I'm certain you'll find every answer you need :) Welcome aboard! Why would you say that? There are quite a few high quality professionals around in the Carolinas. We just all know how to play nice.

Yeah Rick!! Pay it forward :) I'm in the middle of the same type scenario - and every day I'm at her project, our phone rings OFF the hook! I love Karma! -
Which Stain Technology would you put on your deck?
Celeste replied to jhutch's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
We have hardwood decks that it is doing just fine on....I'm all about the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it!" We still haven't found the "silver bullet" stain either - we use what we feel is the best product for the project in front of us...if an issue comes up, we fix it - and it has happened with more than one product line, which simply proves that not every stain is for every contractor. -

On certain jobs - yes, we still use Wood Tux! -

Not trying to be argumentative with Ken, the master of sales - but you will find YOUR match Joe. Not all business plans are the same, not all strengths are the same and certainly not all demographics are the same. Pennsylvania is nothing like North Carolina which is likely nothing like Wisconsin. Our closing ratio via email is considerably higher than 50%. Roger sells himself before he sells any job - after that the price part is easy. -

Something else to consider when scheduling estimates - your current schedule & route. We used to do the one day for estimates thing but when gas shot through the roof, that went by the wayside. Potential customers had NO problem getting scheduled when we were in their area working....since it kept our estimates free and that sort of logical thinking. Sometimes it's easier to keep a clean shirt in the truck than run all over. -
First acrylic strip. Need some input....
Celeste replied to ogetnom27's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Not stupid :) We generally will make sure we have various products on hand for estimates - either to determine the difficulty of a job or to demonstrate to the property owner what the job will entail. All paint, just like stains, are not created equal. Some paint is water based, some is oil ..... some isn't paint, the homeowner just calls it that because they see paint and stain as the same thing. Testing helps you to properly bid the job - the worst feeling in the world is pricing a job for what should be one time frame only to find you're spending twice the time you planned and using 2-3 times the product. You lose money, which is NOT the goal. -
