  1. Danebob - Pressure Tek is a great source and Bob is top notch. If you want to use someone very close to you, check out Glenn at Ace Cleaning (www.pitchwitch.com) He's in Washington, NC or very close to there and he can also hook you up with stuff :) Celeste
  2. TCN back on track

Keth, the larger majority of Steve's attendees wouldn't care about that being a conflict with the PWNA weekend :) Celeste
  3. New website: Comments please!

I'm going to stand up for Phillip here as well.......the original matter (not that is was really a "matter") was handled privately and Phillip publically acknowledged and corrected it, said public acknowledgement was not even necessary. Takes a big person to voluntarily admit a mistake in front of all of his peers. Celeste
  4. Pwna Tbs

Anyone else having issues getting on PWNA's board? It was up earlier this morning but been MIA since around lunchtime ?? Celeste
  5. Hello Guys and Gals

Packman (assuming you're an NC State fan - I won't hold it against you LOL) Give me a call at the office tomorrow if you like and I'll hook you up with an NC agent to handle both your GL and Workers comp :) Celeste
  6. New website: Comments please!

    Yes they do. Celeste
  7. My New Truck!!

LOL - that sounds like something the teeny boppers on the strip would love! Celeste
  8. Dawn Apple Blossom

Does it say "oxygenated" or some such term on it anywhere? It's not my brand so I'm not familiar :)
  9. I'm curious as to how much was put down for it to be scraped off??? Celeste
  10. Myrtle Beach Golf

October/November golf tourney & round table anyone????? Celeste
  11. Ernesto

It's getting really blowy here! Temp has dropped down in the 60's! The rain seems to have slowed a bit - maybe the sky finally ran out of water LOL Celeste
  12. strange encounter with competition

We are also huge proponents of educating your "competition". There really is no other way not to stay ahead if you're not all on the same page in the industry manual. The scary thing is, last September, we held a Round table here in NC - 31 folks attended, not including vendors from 3-4 states. Our company was the only company from our county (and yes, I picked up the phone and personally called every one listed in the phone book and went so far as to waltz into the Waffle House where another pwer was lunching - call him out in public to give him my card and invite to the event) NOT ONE showed - go figure. But anyway, in our quest to help raise the bar, we welcome any newbies near or far to learn from our experiences - this industry will never go anywhere if we all don't share. Those who DON'T get to know the others in their area are sticking their collective heads in the sand. Celeste
  13. Myrtle Beach Golf

:lgkick: Hey, Myrtle Beach in the fall is a great time too :) Rates are down but it's not cold yet! Celeste
  14. Ernesto

We're floating off the map over here.....drove in from Myrtle Beach last night doing 35 mph - couldn't see 5 feet ahead of us.....empty 5 gallon pail in the back of the truck was half full this morning. That's a lot of water falling from the skies! GROW MILDEW GROW!!!!!!!! Hpoefully we'll be getting some nice green decks as well in the next months :)
  15. Used the FloodPro stripper/cleaner on Ipe stained 5 mos ago with Wood Tux - long dwell time but did okay. We also used it last weekend on FloodPro Supreme stain put down on Purple Heart approx 1 month ago - had some definite issues with removal as well as rinsing and neutralizing. The stain (color Natural) looks very muddy on Purple Heart. We will be doing some testing on Ipe in the next couple of weeks. Celeste
  16. New House?

    I love my town - 4700 sq - we pay $1500 :) Celeste
  17. Getting Shot Down!

We need to talk - we're in the same area and you're not getting enough money! Celeste
  18. That's a great link Beth - information from that exact brochure insured that we determinee the appropriate course of action for the roofs we did :) We also provided it as a part of our proposal package. Celeste
  19. We stripped WTW from Ipe (our test tiles) last week. (This stain has been on since March but has had very very little weather exposure so was pretty darn intact) We were provided some of Flood's new stripper/cleaner so tried it. It took about a 25 minute dwell time at full strength, also keeping it consistently wet. That product did remove about 99% - did fuzz a bit, but a light osborning took care of that and the remaining pigment. Celeste
  20. We have successfully applied Wood Defender to over 50K sq ft of cedar shakes last year and early this year. Results were quite nice, especially considering the condition! Looked at them just last weekend and they still look great :) Celeste
  21. Getting Shot Down!

Your pricing for both is about what we would have charged for the deck. I didn't even figure the house bid after the deck math :) Celeste
  22. estimating Sheet

Guys, refer back to post #126 on page nine of this thread. The forms are downloadable from there :) Celeste
  23. Low spot

Looks like an opportunity for an upsell :) You can patch the area and sell him on a tinted sealer! Or better yet - an OVERLAY! Celeste
  24. Priceless

With all of the new babies coming on board, and those of us with the aggravating older ones, I thought this email I received today might be a nice look from a different view :) Enjoy! Well rats, the photo wouldn't show up.......but the message is still good! The Price of Children This is just too good not to pass on to all. Something absolutely positive for a change. I have repeatedly seen the breakdown of the cost of raising a child, but this is the first time I have seen the rewards listed this way. It's nice. The government recently calculated the cost of raising a child from birth to 18 and came up with $160,140 for a middle income family. Talk about sticker shock! That doesn't even touch college tuition. But $160,140 isn't so bad if you break it down. It translates into: * $8,896.66 a year, * $741.38 a month, or * $171.08 a week. * That's a mere $24.24 a day! * Just over a dollar an hour. Still, you might think the best financial advice is don't have children if you want to be "rich." Actually, it is just the opposite. What do you get for your $160,140? * Naming rights. First, middle, and last! * Glimpses of God every day. * Giggles under the covers every night. * More love than your heart can hold. * Butterfly kisses and Velcro hugs. * Endless wonder over rocks, ants, clouds, and warm cookies. * A hand to hold, usually covered with jelly or chocolate. * A partner for blowing bubbles, flying kites. * Someone to laugh yourself silly with, no matter what the boss said or how your stocks performed that day. For $160,140, you never have to grow up. You get to: * finger-paint, * carve pumpkins, * play hide-and-seek, * catch lightning bugs, and * never stop believing in Santa Claus. You have an excuse to: * keep reading the Adventures of Piglet and Pooh, * watching Saturday morning cartoons, * going to Disney movies, and * wishing on stars. * You get to frame rainbows, hearts, and flowers under refrigerator magnets and collect spray painted noodle wreaths for Christmas, hand prints set in clay on Mother's Day, and cards with backward letters for Father's Day. For $160,140, there is no greater bang for your buck. You get to be a hero just for: * retrieving a Frisbee off the garage roof, * taking the training wheels off a bike, * removing a splinter, * filling a wading pool, * coaxing a wad of gum out of bangs, and coaching a baseball team that never wins but always gets treated to ice cream regardless. You get a front row seat to history to witness the: * first step, * first word, * first bra, * first date, and * first time behind the wheel. You get to be immortal. You get another branch added to your family tree, and if you're lucky, a long list of limbs in your obituary called grandchildren and great grandchildren. You get an education in psychology, nursing, criminal justice, communications, and human sexuality that no college can match. In the eyes of a child, you rank right up there under God. You have all the power to heal a boo-boo, scare away the monsters under the bed, patch a broken heart, police a slumber party, ground them forever, and love them without limits, So . . one day they will, like you, love without counting the cost. That is quite a deal for the price!!!!!!! Love and enjoy your children and grandchildren!
  25. Priceless
