Steve Rowlett will be hosting a Round Table in June in Tennessee. His are always informative and fun! We're working on one in North Carolina for September. There's a PWNA Round table April 16 to start up the Maryland Chapter. I don't believe that it's going to be open to the public however, since it is an initial Chapter event. I feel sure that this will be the only time that PWNA meetings will be closed to non-members though. Celeste

The x-jet, or now newer M-5, is for mostly applying chemicals - you can also rinse with it. It reaches high spots very nicely. As far as concrete & paving areas - a surface cleaner will likely serve your needs better there depending on the actual surface. :) You'll not regret getting an x-jet!

Help with PPE, particularly eye protection.

Sorry - we do new brick construction and use acid every day :) I guess it might confuse Suzy Q. Homeowner if you're telling her that your housewash is gentle, won't harm the environment, etc... as you were donning your full face respirator :) Celeste -

Absolutely - inhaling some of this stuff can kill you. I've learned to like my sweat better than dying :) Celeste -
Hey Nick, Just remember, if you can love your trade, you'll always be happy with your job. This is a great talent that you have and you can go far with it! (But you still need to go to college!) Celeste

starting business, is this a good unit?
Celeste replied to Coop's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Hey Coop, Never mind what I said about Richard! Give us a call, we've got a brick & vinyl house tomorrow (Friday) with some flatwork - you can see our machines, see the x-jet a work, see the difference a surface cleaner can make, see the difference between hot & cold water - Just about anything you'd want demonstrated or want to TRY OUT, you could do it with about a 25 minute drive! If tomorrow is too soon for you to try to roll over, we have this type stuff EVERY WEEK! If you're interested in wood - that's on the books next week. Celeste :) PS - We also have a guy here with a trailer for sale - full set up. We were thinking about buying but, 3 trailers? Don't quite need that yet :) It would be worth looking at for the price he's asking. -
We have a specially formulated cleaning procedure which is not harmful to plants, etc...
-
Oh that was just wrong :)

Oh I like that one Ken :)

Coop - give us a call - we're only over in Graham (bought 25 miles) have some insight on some complete used trailer setups - also call Joe @ CST in Randleman.....they repair & sell chems, tell him we sent you. Celeste PS - We have a labor for learning policy if you ever want some hands on experience......just ask Richard :) Celeste -
Check the gallery - we do ALOT of new brick construction - it's amazing how much better new brick looks after getting all of the mortar smears and tags off. NMD80 is safe on glass, metals, painted areas... We've not tried any paint stripper yet - don't want to mess with stripping paint!

Love this deck!
Celeste replied to Beth n Rod's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
That is gorgeous - I know you guys were proud parents when you delivered that job :) Celeste -
Yes, hydrocloric acid aka muriatic - The Saferestore is an awesome product with the addition of another number of ingredients......GS Restoration is another of theirs that we have used with great results! I think the biggest difference in the two is that Saferestore has an algaecide in it. For new brick construction, we have become "died in the wool" NMD80 users. We have tried others and NMD80 out performed by a mile for us.

New Regulation in the NE
Celeste replied to CLASSICPW's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
This thread was on another bbs discussing it.........there is a website link in it that may shed some light as well. http://www.deckcare.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=2057&highlight=VOC Celeste -
Citraclean gets bleach added to it, as well as a rinse aid - we have stellar results which make the phone ring. It works for us, in more ways than getting calls - it actually WORKS, instead of us.

Just a female view - I think wooden jewelry boxes are exquisite for both men and women :) Nick, your work is very impressive :) Celeste

Wow - that is much much better! It's so nice to see someone take some advise and turn out work like that! Congrats - Celeste -
Gotta love QuickBooks - all our stuff looks uniform! We print our own. Celeste

Where can you get these, Rod?

Phillip, I do believe that you were the one I learned that lesson from - didn't you post your nightmare about that? (Sorry I didn't give credit for where my knowledge came from - I couldn't remember) Celeste

Oxalic Acid and Citric Acid
Celeste replied to KC Deck's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
chemistrystore.com sells bulk ingredients. With that said, there is something to be said for manufacturers of premeasured packaged product. Mixture instructions, msds, important stuff like that. There are several distributors who make very good commercial grade products - Rowlett Pressure Cleaning (www.rowlettpressure.com), Pressure Tek (www.pressuretek.com) and ESP (look for Russell Cissell on this board) These are all good products with manufacturers backing them. There are plenty of guys that make their own home brews that I'm sure will pipe up shortly but for us, right now as new in the bus as we are (2 yrs) we're sticking to the stuff with instructions. It's been well worth the money. Celeste -
Be very careful of possible high iron content - if you have that, your lovely clean white house will turn orange before your very eyes! (For the record, oxalic applied immediately afterward will fix it - but talk about cutting into the profit margin!) You can ask the HO if their toilet bowls are rusty looking most of the time - if they are, there's iron in that thar well! Celeste

The biggest thing to using an off the shelf brand of detergent is making sure that there is no oxygenated action bleach in it.......like the Dawn with Oxyclean stuff - mixing that with bleach will cause some gasses that in the proper quantities can do some pretty serious damage to the old lungs I believe.

We'll be starting on the roof, then gutters, then house, then deck, then drive and return to seal the deck - NEXT WEEK - YIPPEE - WE HAVE WORK!
