Happy that you got things going! I also find the easy start useless. In the future I would check flow by using a five gallon bucket and timing how long it takes to fill it. Do this 3-4 times and you should determine your expected flow for that site. Five gpm or more should keep you out of trouble.

You have posted a little more info. here than on the other board you posted on. Are you sure the incoming water line is not kinked on the reel? This can easily happen when using a cheaper supply hose.
-
Paul,No I was not sent here. No commisions, salary ect. No one suggested you push B&R's products. What I wrote was why not make people aware of the fact that they sponsors this board, also operate a store that sells chems, deck and pw supplies. Is there something wrong with that???????? I never questioned your your advice. I just made a suggestion. You give great lengthy suggestions but seem unwilling to take a small one. How many posts did that fellow have??? Think he knew about their store???? Oh and if you read my post, I never mentioned anything about a Deckster, shurflow, battery box, hand cart, nozzles, tanks, hose ect. I wonder if Grime Scene Store sells any of these items? Worth a look though.

Paul, Not trying to be a smart fellow here but why not give the sponsors of this board, Beth And Rob a plug also? Besides owning and operating a full time p.w. business, owning and sponsoring this board, they also sell equiptment, chemicals and p.w. supplies. I think! Please correct me if I am wrong. I suspect that this was just an oversight on your part.

Scott, I still plan on following up on this. K&N is used extensively off road. With the factory air box fully funtional, I can't see how the filter would pass sand. I could see this in the open element design that both brands sell. As far as failing emissions checks I can see that happening. The big problemn I have is knowing wether or not the wrong filter has been purchased. Not doubting you in any way. I just like to see printed data regarding the facts.
-
Scott, Thanks for the info. I will check into it. I expected that the filter would actually pull less air after washing and oiling. I am very interested in the finding the facts. Never have seen taht stated anywhere though. Is that a claim that Airaid makes?? Sounds like it might be media related. Darn, way to many I's!!!!!!
-
Scott,I could be wrong but, I beleive that K&N flows more air than any other filter on the market. It also meets all o.e.m. specs.

Can any of you guys log on to The Cleaner network? My computer keeps defaulting to incredifind.com. Not that I like that board better, I like to check them all out when I can. My antivirus is in place and indicates no problems present. This is drying me crazy.

Tuesday evening and I still can't log on!

OTP, Thank you for the info. One Call I run Spy Killer at least once daily.

Jon, Yes you can change to conventional wheel bearings I suspect it is a time savings during assembly is the reason Ford is using sealed bearings. The sealed bearings don't have to be packed before assembly.
-
The F-250 factory wheel bearings are sealed and also cannot be repacked. My brother in law had a wheel bearing go out on his PSD while pulling a trailer. It ruined the front spindle. Cost him $600.

Jon, Climatrol is like the a.c. in your house. It is contoled by a thermostat.

Scott, What would I change in my truck: Here is the wish list I wish it was quieter like the new psd's I like the torque and power increase of the new engine. Though it still has short comings. I wish it had the new heavier transmission even though mine is adequate for pulling the t.t. and enclosed p.w. trailer. I wish it had climatrol for the a.c. I wish the rear seatwould fold down for like the Chevy's do. I wish it had a 40 gallon fuel tank. I wish I would have got a long bed instead of the short bed. I wish I would have got the split bench instead of the buckets. I wish the truck didn't depreciate as much as it has.
-
Dave , I myself see you as the P.W. bench mark. A display of what is possible with hard work and dedication. If I had the money I would love to purchase one of your trucks. By doing so I would know that it had 25-30 years of service in it's lay out and design. The truck would be everything I would need in the next 25 years!
-
Scott, We decided on the truck because my wife has M.S.. We expected to install a boom type lift in the rear for her wheel chair. We latter found out about the platform lifts that are available. If I would have known about them at the time I would have purchased the PSD Excursion. My wife is currently in remission so the wheel chair has not been needed. Thank god. The towwing capacity and the engine longevity were the biggest factors other than the wheel chair needs. Also at the time of purchase only Ford had a crew cad in a 3/4 ton truck. We wanted the extra room. It was not price. When I made the purchase these trucks were scarce and in high demand. Dealers did not discount them like today. The flip down video and all the other accessories made swallowing the high price a little easier. The only thing I added was a bed liner. The truck has really given us good service since purchase. It has only been to the shop twice. Once for the computer module and the other for a failed cam postioning sensor. I am now eligible for Ford X- plan pricing through my full time employer. This will usually get you around $6000. off the sticker price on a new PSD. Would I purchase another PSD? In a heart beat!

The P.W. King has spoken! I think we all envy Daves equipment. TOP notch!

I use a 2000 Ford Lariat PSD F-250 crew cab 4x4 . Purchased new with all the bells and whisltes. It has plenty of room and mileage is 17.0-18.3 on the highway. City dirving is in the 13.0 mpg range. Towing around 11.0-13.0 depending on conditions. I have to keep the truck for 100,000 miles to break even for the engine up charge and service. I plan on using this truck 7-10 years.

When are you going to quit asking all the questions and start to work???????????????? Are you going to start pw??? LOL

8 Cylinder 7.3 Liter Turbo Diesel
beyoungsr replied to CCHSNC's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Per Ford-normal conditions Oil and filter every 5,000 miles-I change at 3,500 If you change your own oil you must fill the new oil filter before replacing. Takes one half gallon. Actually the oil change places must also this. Fuel filter every 15,000 Transmission and filter(automatic) every 30,000 Transfer case every 30,000 Air filter -as needed. I use a K&N wash, dry, oil and replace Tire rotation and balance every 5,000 Engine coolant every 60,000 FW-16 additive every 15,000 depending on test strips. (this is critical) Must stay with green antifreeze prior to 2002. In very cold climate(sustained 32 F and below) do not let the fuel tank get below 1/4. If you do the fuel will gell on the pump pickup. Will make a hell of a noise. You will think the engine is coming a part . Add ten gallons of diesel and she will be back to normal -
Interior mobile home washing
beyoungsr replied to One Tough Pressure's question in Residential Pressure Washing
OTP, It may require a steam type line and gun. I don't think standard hose and guns will last.
