Mike, I was not trying to steal your work. I was just trying to make a point. I thought the sketch was helpful and have passed it on. You were given full credit though! Again sorry if I offended you.

Mike , You mean something like this?

Squirtgun, That is good info, however anything you add in a photo editing program can be removed. They can essentialy edit your info off and add their info to the pic. I think there is a way to keep them from copying posted pictures. Don't know how though. Maybe someone will chime in.

When I see a picture I like I save it in a file. If anyone brings up that subject and I have a picture of it , I try to post it. I will give the originator full credit for their picture(s). Does this offend anyone?

Adding hot water has allowed me to clean year round. I am in Texas so heat is usually not needed for house washing in the summer. I have also found that when it gets cold the chems are not as effective unless hot water is used. We have done the completly cold thing and I am glad we added hot water. Without it flat work would take much longer. It also really makes a surface cleaner much more effective. I guess it depends on what you want to pursue as your specialty.

Guys I have to agree with Tony. I had heard the same things about Mobil 1. Can't use until after break in. Went to their site. There is NO mention of this what so ever on any of the product data sheets. Porsche has approved it for all their cars.] Stock oil for Corvette Approved by Opel, Chrysler ect, Approved for motorcycle use. Used in ALL Indy cars. These are facts not hear say. Check it out yourself!

SHURflo and Flojet users
beyoungsr replied to the_GUNN_man's question in Residential Pressure Washing
I know one pwer that uses pressurised 3 gallon sprayers to spray soap. He uses standard pw wand and nozzles. Has converted 30 gal propane tanks into air storeage tanks. Just refills with soap and than fills with air. Slick and fast. How about a 5 gallon back pack sprayer? I think a Shurflow or flow jet would work with a pwer gun and nozzles. If you dont use them I don't think you will get enough volume of soap out. Use a standard automotive battery you can recharge them faster. Good luck! -

beyoungsr replied to PIT STOP POWER WASHING's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Sounds like you are new to power washing! Use the tip that gives you the best results for your application. A lot will come with experiance. Examples decks 800-1000 psi max concrete 2500-3000 psi houses 1000-1500 psi Autos 500 psi Keep the gpm at a constant 4.0 gpm anything lowwer will make you work harder. -

Look at this chart. -
Ron P, Where is the applications section? I am guessing you were refering to Tony's pic.

OTP, What I have seen in H.D. here is water pressure gauge. You screw it on the end of the spigot, turn on the water and the gauge reads the water psi. This type of gauge can be found in the sprinkler system section here. Don't no of a gauge to read gpm without having flow going through it. I just use a nine gallon bucket and a stop watch. Usually run the test three times. I measure the gallons produced in each sixty second test. I then use an average from the three tests as my gpm.

Oneness, From what you have posted it sounds like your nozzles are worn. I would bet changing them will bring your pressure back up. The lowwer pressure is usually a good indicator of that. If you check witht the manufacturer of you surface cleaner they will prabably provide you with a tempate for proper nozzle angle. Don't forget to grease the bearings periodicly if you have a grease zerk on your union. Good nozzles, proper angle, balanced arms should make your unit return to its previous glory.

beyoungsr replied to C & T Pressure Washing's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
OTP, Why don't you set up a poll and ask everybody what size supply line they use! -
APLUS, I think that discount only applies to orders of $1000. or more. The discount will not apply if you call and ask any questions prior to ordering!

Jon, Espec. has a small electric unit called the TRX for $499. that might work for you. Will take standard hot water. 2.1 gpm 1500 psi

Morgan, My prayers are with you. My wife has M.S. and is unable to work. I know the pain and frustation you must be feeling. I pw to supplement the family income. Full time time part time if you know what I mean. Does your state offer a medical program for children of parents without medical coverage? We have a program in Texas called C.H.I.P.S. I don't have it but have heard a lot of it. I have worked for the same company for 24 years. In the last two years we have been offered two buyouts. I couldn't get insurance for my wife if I quit! Some many products are coming in from overseas. We see them as good deals but in reality it is U.S. jobs we are loosing. Look at how many things are coming from China. I wonder in 25 years if we will manufacture anything! Morgan there is help out there. You may have to swallow some of you pride in accepting that help. I don't know if you are religous or not. God does not give us more than we can handle with his help. When my wife got real sick I had problems sleeping. Worrying about her health, paying the bills, buying food, house payments ect. Couldn't sleep and thought a guy named Jack Daniels could help. Just a little to start. Got to where he was no help. Anyway I asked for gods help and things started falling in place. Things are not financily where they used to be but they are ok. Made me realize what is important in life. It is not possesions it is your family! Hang in there things will slowly get better. My prayers are with you. Sorry for the long post folks!

Only In America! You have the right to openly disagree. Thank God that is where we are!

A cheap way to make this type of hose is to buy a 1 wire 3000 psi pressure washing hose. Take the hose to a hydraulics store and have them cut one end to length and add a fitting. They don't charge to crimp the fitting. I have been doing it here for approximately $3.50 including tax. You can do this twice before you have to buy a full pair of fittings. I can order a 50' 1 wire 3000 psi hose for $29.95 with fittings. That is .60 per foot + the additional fitting(s). Obviously if you run a higher psi you will need a differant type of hose. Works well for me!

OTP, I use 3-M half face. Clean like Tony. Store the respirator in a 1 gallon zip lock bag. Each mask is identified with the users name. Change inorganic cartridges when you can start smelling the chem. in the mask.

beyoungsr replied to ron p's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Ron, There is a reply to this subject on Daves board by Michael Stillwell from EPPS and also Scott Stone. -
Ron, Yeah I dom't think the Sam's alarm will have any range like that. Anyway I will have to think on it some. I remember the fish guy. He had two 13 hp Hondas in an enclosed trailer the exhausted out the open side door. Also had a bunch of drema valves and a tote in the trailer. Meant to e-mail him but never did. Have not seen any posts by him in a long time. Anyway you got me thinking thanks!
