We switched over to tall wader boots that come up your thigh. Already have long "trench coat" type rain jacket. The combo seems to be working ok until you roll the boots down and try to walk around, a lot of excess boot to deal with like a fireman's boot.

We run a 1" line to the pump with an inline filter. If you're only going to use one filter, put it between the tank and the pump. You can always rinse out the tank if you get a lot of trash in it. 2" manifold off the tank is a good setup, works great fo us.

What pitch is the roof, is it walkable, are there gutters and down spouts to bag or will the mix run off onto the greenery? These are all things to take into consideration when bidding a job. Set-up takes time.

Bob does have some cost effecive introductory setups that you can get started with. Just depends on how many roofs you want to do a week. The more you do the better the equipment you might want to look at, (ie... air pumps, larger tanks, etc...)

We have a Delavan that we use for lots of mixes depending on what we're working on.

Take a 15 gal drum like this: $? Buy a 12v pump like a Surflow or a Delavan ($115 for 5gpm), Use a lawn tracktor battery (smaller 12v, $30) mount it on a hand truck. You get creative if you want with a hose and wand holder. Seems like a pretty simple idea. if the 15 gal is too big find something smaller... with a 12v pump it could be a 5 gal bucket and a short pickup tube. Use a ball valve($5) for a wand or get a cheap udor trigger gun($35). Some thing like this:

You should get to know what the numbers on the tips mean and how to read them. 0040 is good or a hose barb does good as a backup.
