  1. Yes was quite a deck great job to do. Ill look for after pics here is the floor as we were sanding.
  2. yes they are and thank you for your input but leaning towards replacing spindles strip frame and deck. It's water based and I'm always looking for a better solid stain stripper? Thanks
  3. What I'm leaning towards doing after adding up labor material to strip should be the better way to go. What I did with this monster deck on the ocean as well.
  4. Hope all had a great winter, just came from this estimate of a cedar deck beautiful home on ocean in Southeastern Ma. Homeowner hired retired painter put solid stain on her cedar deck. She saw my work in a local magazine we advertise in then went to my pinterest page for decks and called me. instead of stripping the rails just might replace them depending on price of the lumber. If not will strip, sand then seal with AC super cedar.
  5. Cedar Fence

Yes Jim its both sides in over 30 yrs business never been asked to look at work 5 mins from our shop lol. I went and measured a section my self including both sides I even factor in the PITA moving of tenants stuff away from inside fence. Adam only reason I would pass is we are booked until August right now and in between I keep booking deck work and the weather is killing us. Would like to sub out the cleaning and we can do the finishing but don't know a PW company here I could trust.
  6. Been asked to bid on 50,000 sg ft of Cedar fence was finished 8 yrs ago with Wolmans FP when new... all greyed out now. Think I'm gonna pass if anyone on here is interested and close by let me know.

I just saw that post nah we don't wear Dunce caps actually my name is pronounced Dunz but its alright made me one tough SOB growing up with it.
  8. Was thinking of trying the TWP on PT soon but the pictures here, our of a deck we did with AC Cedar 2-3 yrs ago and the owner wants a quick rinse and a more brownish look now on this IPE. When we first did this deck we stripped with HD-80 then brightened sanded where needed and applied our AC with lambs wool applicators. It gets hammered with sun and faces the ocean.....The pic with the white rails was the deck when finished 2 years back the other pics are from today FYI.. Well that sucks the other 3 pics our from my iphone wont let me upload says files to large..
  9. .Thanks we have sampled it out even looked good on PT... as for stocking up people here are a very tough seel on products they never heard of but we try to educate and do have sample baords for sales calls as well as before and afters..
  10. We like AC but for us to order online is a PITA its all about availability and that's why paint stores and big box stores sell so much deck stain. Anyway here's a nice IPE deck we did with AC semi cedar. Would like to say TY to Scott for the TWP brochures.

We whole heartily give a Military discount if it wasn't for our very brave troops we would not be free to have a business. No one gives up more in the community than troops serving in combat or war time zone. They deserve everything they get and more. We aslo support Wounded Warrior Project - Home and the Fisher House Boston

    Hey Dave -Thanks....
  13. Price

I just came from a deck estimate 35 miles from my shop. The front deck is ipe 7x14, the HO has a beck deck at 12 x38 another 12x15 and another piece at 8x12 those are all PT. All have no railings, there is a boat load of lawn furniture etc has to be moved and replaced. All said and done 900 sf ft of deck to strip and apply semi solid or trans by pad, roller, brush and you will have quite of cutting in to do. Now i put all things in consideration, travel, materials , stripper, finish, applicators, can I do this work at a dollar a sq ft , I think not. Man days, how much can a worker strip and seal in a day after setting up , cleaning up, and travel back and forth to job. Wouldn't a 2 man crew be better much more productive for getting stripper mixed up and setting up , loading etc... and then coming back to finish. My point is I have been estimating decks for some time and painting seems like forever and I do use a sq ft method but I get my numbers from my production rates. Just my 2 cts and yes guys here would bid anything at a buck a sq ft without even looking at what they are bidding... now if it would stop raining and snowing all week so we can get going and start doing some work.
