I’m looking to buy a new rig very soon but I will need to get a loan or some financing from my bank due to the large cost of the equipment. Have any of you ever tried to apply or have received any type of financing or loan recently? If so are there any tips that you could pass along that may help me before I try and apply? Any help you guys/gals could pass along will be appreciated.

Two quick questions!
Hydroservices replied to Hydroservices's question in Residential Pressure Washing
First off, I would like to thank all of you who posted a reply thus far. After reading what the majority of you have said, I think I’m going to give him a bid for a minimum of $40 a drive way. I think this is fair assuming that I will be doing all of the work in that general area. As for the surface cleaner, I don’t have any experience using one but I have seen them in use several times and appreciate what all of you have said about the GP. I think I will be spending the extra money and go with a Whisper-Wash or Steel Eagle. Lastly, the town homes in my area John Orr are connected two story homes (side-by-side) in a very upscale neighborhood. Thus, they are 2,600 sq. ft. -
I was asked by another local PW company to do some sub contracting work for them for a relatively large size project. The job is 73 identical town homes located in an upscale neighborhood near my main city of business. The homes are all 2700 sq. ft. and consist of Hardy Board siding with brick bases and some normal sized flat work. The deal that I have worked out so far with the owner of this company is to do all of the flat work for every home in this sub division. They range from 30x42 – 30x64 feet in size. My question for all of you is, what is a good percentage to charge for a job like this? The total contract is $7300 for all 73 homes with a completion time line of 14 days. My best estimate so far is 18% or $1300. Secondly, I'm looking to buy a surface cleaner and I think I have found a good deal on a 20”. General Pump makes it and it’s sold through Northern Tool under this link. Do you guys think this is worth the money and are floating as good as wheeled? Any help you guys could give me is surely appreciated.

Another low-baler.
Hydroservices replied to Hydroservices's question in Residential Pressure Washing
I love some of the replies that you guys/gals leave. As far as the “covert” picture taking goes, I was not in the bushes or anything. This house that he is washing is just across the street form where I live so I just decided to take it from my window. -
I thought I would share this picture with all of you other professionals out there. This man and his $300 Home Depot special just beat me out on two of my bid proposals for residential work. Not only did he low-ball my price but he did a terrible job. Now the customer who owns this house is asking me to redo the work for half the price. I said no thank you. You would think that people would do their research occasionally before selecting someone for this type of work. It just goes to show you that you get what you pay for.

Would you happen to have a web site for Water Cannon?

I am looking to get two new hose reels within the next week. Where would you guys/gals recommend I look for a good deal?

Here you go! My bid proposal is on page two, hope it helps. http://www.thegrimescene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3961

I’m not too sure if this post is dead yet but in any case here’s what I’ve got… I just recently had three Jerzee brand t-shirts, and two Polo shirts embroidered (not screen printed) for $43.00. That included my logo on the front and motto on the back. There also was no setup fee or shipping costs. The company is Master Care Promotions (713) 772-7071. Ask for Alberto Venegas.

Proposal writing - Need some help!
Hydroservices replied to Hydroservices's topic in Business Topics & Tips
I will be cleaning flagstone entrance signs to neighborhoods. -
I recently contacted a local property management company and they said that I could submit a bid proposal for some cleaning. The problem is I have never written a full proposal for this type of work before. It needs to be very detailed so they can submit it to the Home Owners Association for the final decision and I have no clue where to start. Does anyone have a detailed service proposal that they recently completed or have used in the past to win a contract?

I had a similar problem with a Karcher unit that I fixed for a friend of mine. The problem was almost the same in that the pump would run fine for 30 seconds and then have a total loss of power. After about two minutes of holding the trigger down it would come back to life. I then tore the entire pump assembly down. After some time I found that the purge valve was sticking due to a lack of lubricant from the factory. This valve is inside the thermal relief tower on most pumps and can easily be removed after taking the pump off of the engine mount. Although this worked fine for a Karcher pump, it may not work for a triplex or similar. Hope this helps…

For the home you cant beat a good Onkyo TX-NR1000 receiver with some B&W 800 Series speakers. For the car of course, an Alpine receiver with some Rockford Fosgate subs, MB Quart speakers, and two Boston Acoustics GT42 amps. That’s just my 2 cents...
