Covered Mahogany porch is 3yrs old. Looks to be stained and finished... but stain and finish have worn away at the ends (turning gray) and finish looks cloudy (like covered in pollen) and feels almost sticky. Seems like something went wrong. If nothing else, I want to refinish for appearances but don't know how to proceed... seems like there are lots of approaches (particularly for Mahogany), some better than others (and some wrong) but don't know what to do (sand? strip? refinish?) or how to find a reliable contractor to do the job (Summit, NJ). Any help would be appreciated...
