Fence Restoration Prices
jason c. replied to Russell Cissell's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
i was just wondering, say you had two fence jobs each being 100ft. (thats 100 linft right?) but fence a)was 4 feet tall and b)was 6feet tall. and you charge $5 per linft. do you bid both these jobs at 500? and those who price by linear feet, does the 100 foot fence double to 200 lin feet when doing both sides? sorry maybe i'm overthinking this(or probably inmy case under thinking) thanks jason -
are they also called jumping spiders? right there with ya scott!!! a buddy of mine lives in a house with an uncomfortable amount of spiders. everytime i go over there, i bust through his door looking like i'm tripping on acid or something. pinching near my forearms and face yelling, "is he on me!!" i've walked from his garage to my truck with a ladder, spent about 30 secs to tie it down, walked back using the same path and in that minute or so, a spider has managed to **** out 4 or 5 strands, 6'5" in the air for me to inhale. i think thats probably the closest i'll ever get to death before i die. by the way, if any of ya'll pack a lighter with a decent flame, i've found they are pretty good at getting the strands off. be carefull not to cinge the hair though! ohh yeah, this spider seemed to be on the backside of the web, so its his/her belly in the pic...never seen that before sorry for the long post... scott, hunting story reminded me of one as well...my uncle and my cousin took my younger cousin (15yrs) on his first hunting trip last year. of course this is the trip that safety is usually stressed the most. well my uncle took the kid with him and my cousin went to his stand and they agreed to meet back up there where they seperated at a certain time. my uncle said they were walking back to the meeting spot when my cousin jumps out from a tree right in front of them. "RAAAHHHH!!!" my uncle tripped over his own feet jumping back...the kid, after letting out a good scream, picked up a stick and wacked my cousin in the back of the head while he was helping my uncle back to his feet!...lmao safety first

lmao...that funny as heck! -
as jeff originaly posted and i'm sure we can all attest, the streaks are pretty evenly space out along the gutters. pattern like. i think the same goes for the trailer as well. maybey they are crimped by a machine at the factory every inch or so and that may cause it to stay on the gutters perm. after they are painted over...thus bleeding through the paint every now and then? i love b.s. in the morning!!!

look man, all i am trying to do is tell people there are two sides of a coin. i'm not pointing a finger in blame to any party in particular. if you re-read this topic the only point of view was screw em they should all be shot. all i am trying to do is say is that allthough there were barbaric acts commited, that it doesnt represent a majority. the other thing i said is that the conditions of living are less than human.

just wanted to be clear on the fact that i am not blaming socioecon. i would hate to think the response was because of anything other than inability. as for the article, any rationaly minded person can agree with the authors general message, but he is using false information to stir a fire in people at a time when emotions are already boiling over. alot of people will read that and get pissed w/o knowing that most of the authors "facts" are false. as for crying, dont think so. dont think of those same afflicted "many" are robbing lotting etc. either. i agree that many "immigrants" and people for that matter have risen above their surroundings to accomplish great things. but i also believe that that is a different issue.

thats a pretty uneducated blog. and i wont use the term racist to describe it, but if you are familiar with the racial demographics of new orleans you can infer what the author is implying. the one thing he says about inmates being let loose in the streets is bs. i realize, however, that alot of nonsense has been going on out there. but i think that the majority of the people out there are good hearted and plain old scared. there have been people rescued from their attics with water up to their necks. (in the days after the hurricane) then taken to a situation in the superdome that was almost as horrific. while most of the residents evacuated, some did not. some by choice and some who had no chance to. whites and blacks alike. where do you evacuate to??? if they are poor i doubt they can just jump in the car and head to the second home in california or elsewhere. and the superdome, where they were supposed to go, wasnt prepared to accomodate them. people can point the finger to whomever they like in this situation. there were faults from the citizens of n.o., all the way to the president. but the bottom line is people are suffering and dying, and help shouldnt have taken as long as it did to arrive. i cant remember which hurricane it was that was about to strike florida a year or two or three back, and the president was on t.v. talking about relief efforts were waiting, just in case. i attatched what i think is one of the greatest pictures i've ever seen. i'm not trying to start anything with anyone or get the i'm on this or that side flared up. but in a time like this people prey, especially on the internet, on others emotions. by the way the pic is of some caring people trying to cool down an elderly lady who had been in the superdome and was dying in the heat.

hey scott, not trying to start something, and i agree with some of the points you brought up, but the bold print above just isnt true. uncle sam doesnt discriminate when it comes to collecting. and the margin for gas profit, while not huge, is bigger then some think. i can drive down the road and see on the left side of the street 2.79reg and 2.89 on the right.??? both stores get raw gasoline from the same, the only difference is that they use different types of detergents from store to store. so while its good for your engine to purchase qt's top grade, its also wise to switch to chevrons etc. occasionally. even though premium gas has premium detergents, all gas will leave deposits. since these stores use different detergents they can be utilized to clean deposits left by the other. prolly a bunch of useless info for most but i thought it was interesting when i learned about

Algae on PT deck
jason c. replied to Beth n Rod's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
when you say applied citric, rinsed , not washed. i take it that is rinsing at a lower pressure?? also, when prepping a grey, never sealed deck, do you use a brush to loosen the dead wood fibers or just water pressure -

hey craig, does it change pressure by twisting the knob or do you just have the option of having two nozzles instead of one? like with a 25deg tip, can you adjust the pressure from 500 to 3000 with that same tip by twisting the handle? thanks jason

I know this one will get some laughs but... I have a coxreel 150' challenger hosereel. on the inside of the reel it is threaded for 3/8ths. Does anyone know what type of fitting I should put in there? 45deg. elbow? Should it swivel? I just want to make sure so I dont ruin a hose. Also the chemical injector on my pump(downstreamer) started squirting water out of it yesterday when I pulled the chem line out... Is it supposed to do this? ive used it before and never has this happened. Do I just need to close it tightly before pulling my line? Ive pulled my chem hose off b4 and had the valve opened to suck the remaining chem out of it and did not see water squirt out at all. Sorry these questions are so basic. you veterans should have a good laugh! thanx in advance for any response. jason
