Ran Machine without water: Lower pressure now
cwenbass posted a question in Residential Pressure Washing
I have a craftman 4000 psi PW. I started it, it ran then died out. I did the same thing. Then I realized I forgot to tunr the hose on,. I turned the hose on, now the pressure is much lower. Anyy ideas? ' Thanks, Chris -
Planning on doing a few family homes. I have some simple cherry and a problem finding 12.5% SH. Using an xjet and a bucket. Does 3 gallons 6% 2 cups of simple cherry and 3 gallons water sound good? Should I try finding 12.5, add another gallon of 6%?

Anyone give me an idea on cost for LLC and insurance?
-
I am very small potatoes and that is fine by me. I started a few years ago. First year I paid off all my equipment. Last year, made a few $$$ before shoulder surgery cut my season short. This year will be my first full season on the job. I only want to do vinyl houses and make a few thousand $$ for the year. If I made $6000 that would be an amazing year for me. I teach full-time and coach football in the fall. I like powerwashing. It's a great spring job. All that being said, is insurtance and an LLC a great idea for someone in my shoes? I am not out there blowing siding off of houses. I am very careful about what i am doing and the products I use. Any suggestions? Thanks, Chris

Cam I apply wood brightener just to clean the deck? I don;t need to strip it, just want it cleaner. Was also wondering if my housewash blend will do the job. 2 gall. 6% bleach 1/2 gallon of housewash (powerhouse) and 2.5 gal. of water Thanks

Looking to save time and money: Is there a deck stripper and brightener in one?
cwenbass replied to cwenbass's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
I have no intention of putting anything on wood until I know a lot about it. That is why i am asking. Saw a PW company that advertised that they did it. Do not remember the sight. I come here so I can see what others are doing because those in the industry doing are what set industry standards that I try to adhere to. -

I do not. i know I use a stripping material then a brightener. I amnot sure where to gather all of that information and would love to know more about chemical process involved in washing. i have only done a few decks for friends with stripper/brightner at low PSI so no harm done but I want to know more before I start doing it for $$. -
Thank you Beth N Rod

Most folks around here want biodegradable chemicals. I was using powerhouse and it worked well but the cost was high. Any recommendations for good biodegradable chemical used for vinyl?

Using 6% bleach with x:jet? ratios anyone?
cwenbass posted a question in Residential Pressure Washing
I am doing two last jobs before I close shop this year (doing this part-time only). I am out of wash so I will use 6% bleach with x-jet and no proportion. Was planning on using 2 gallons of bleach, 3 gallons of water, cup of dawn. Does this sound right? It is a stucco house with some dirt and I am also doing a vinyl fence. Also, how do I add a signature? Thanks -
Do you fellas/ladies clean aluminum siding the same way you do vinyl siding? Thanks

I got a call to do a house and owner wants the roof done too. I havent done one and did not want to, but I'll give it a go on a few friends houses first. Few questions. 1. Should I be using 12% bleach or should I use a cleaner? 2. If I am using an x jet, should I add water? What proportion should I use? 3. Any added risks to the surrounding areas I should be concerned with? 4. Should I do the house first then the roof or vice versa? 5. I was planning on just using bleach/water with the x-jet then a duel lance wand with 25 degree tip to clean it off. Does that sound right? 6. How long of a dwell time should it have? 7. Where do I go to add a signature on this sight? Thanks. Any other tpe would be great.

Any tips on washing houses on really hot days. I am concerned with dwell time and the cleaner/wash drying on the house. Thanks

Surface cleaners for cleaning desck?
cwenbass posted a question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Do you guys use surface cleaners for decks or will they mess the deck up or leave marks when it is time for staining or sealing? Thanks
