Prep 30yo aluminum siding for paint?
Kevin Lowe replied to Able Hands's question in Residential Pressure Washing
I used tide cold water mixed with simple green and it worked great. Took the chalking right off. Used a good primer and paint and everything turned out great. -
The PW that I have is a direct drive.

What kind of pump should I use from my tank to my PW and does anybody put a water filter inline. If so what kind.

I'm not familiar with Citracleen what can you tell me about it.

Thanks for the input, I tried a little bit of Zep on a house and wasn't to impressed with it. So I'll grab some R109 and start again. Again thank you for the help.

Streak Free Window Cleaner.... yeah right!
Kevin Lowe replied to Mike's topic in Window & Gutter Cleaning
I would have to agree with Seth, I use water alittle dawn dish soap and a good squeegee (I like to use Ettore squeegee's) the soap bonds the water to the window as well as cleaning. I use this on residential and commercial windows without fail. Practice will make it easy, there's more to it than just slapping it on and taking it off. -
I read that there is a good majority of you that use Delco's R109. When using this product is there a real worry about grass and plants against the house, or is it diluted enough to where it won't hurt. I've ordered samples from Safety Short and they have products that are environmentally friendly. Using these environmentally safe products are you taking away from the actual cleaning process. Do I need to contact someone in my area to see if I can use R109? What would be a good cleaner to keep with me all the time.

I'm just starting out, as a matter of fact my first job is in two weeks. This house is going to be painted and it has aluminum siding and the paint is chaulking. I have a 3700 psi cold water unit with 3.5 gpm what would be the best way to clean it and what chemicals should I use. Any help will help.........
