Practice deck
KGILL replied to KGILL's question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
AA, I missed your post. I think it was a 1 cup of oxiclean per gallon of water. -
Thanks everyone for voting, unfortunately she did not win. Que sera, sera. Either way, she is hoping to defend in late September or early October and graduate in December. She is under the impression that once she graduates I will have to call her Dr. Gilligan. Ha.

I have recently run into water supply issues and I am thinking about getting a buffer tank. I am pushing 5.6 GPM, do you think a 35 gallon tank would suffice?

Looks nice. If it was only a month old why did you clean it? -
She got her masters from there, and is working on her PhD. She has not been in a class in over two years as she completed the coursework then but has been working on her dissertation since we moved to TN for her job. Originally she got her bachelors degree from RPI in Troy, NY. I spent 10 years in Norfolk, arriving in 2000 to attend ODU. I am nowhere near as smart as her so I ended up with a bachelor's degree and called it good. In the 10 years I had been there, Norfolk changed drastically. I can only imagine what changes have occured since you left.

You actually listened to it? I promised her that I would read it once she was done...regretting that now. She is quickly approaching 200 pages.

He can offer low, low prices because he saves on other chemical costs like cleaner and brightener/neutralizer. Ha -

If 3000 is good, 4000 must be better, and 5000 psi must be awesome -

Obviously I am new to pressure washing, and still learning about wood work but even I know he is a knucklehead. -

Looks good. How much stain did that take? -
surface cleaner not spinning
KGILL replied to COACHS's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
I recently had an issue with my surface scrubber not spinning well. I cleaned out the nozzles and it is working great. That reminds me....I have to get replacement nozzles for it as I do not have backups. -

According to the video you need at least 3000 psi to strip wood. Not sure why I bought a size 13 nozzle then. -
Beautiful, absolutely beautiful.

I used a pump up to apply but I have seen people mention using a roof pump system. Anybody have good results with that? -

Beth, I think I am going to rewash with better stuff to see if I can get it looking better. As far as what I will stain it with....I do not know what stain brand yet. We have not picked a color yet, and by "we" I mean my wife. I know I am not going to go with Behr. -

Think the bottom picture is a before picture -
Planned to sleep in today knowing I did not have a job lined up. Wife decided to play a nasty prank on me and set up a playlist on her ipod with "Call me maybe" repeating on a loop. The ipod is attached to the radio. She turned it on real low so by the time I woke up and got out of bed I must have heard it a hundred times and now I cannot get the song out of my head. All day I have been out running errands and it is stuck in my head. She called me a couple of hours ago and as soon as I picked up she started signing that song. She called again not too long ago and I did not pick up.

Thad... I will not tell her "good one" as it will only encourage her to do bad things

John T, sanity does not exist here.

John T, you have no idea.

Fortunately my wife does not watch American Idol. That being said, she is working on her PhD disertation and currently at 185 pages of 200. Think I might call her at work tomorrow and say the computer crashed and everything was lost. Anybody know a good divorce attorney, or have a spare bed I can sleep on?

Thanks to Doug ********** for helping me figure out a mechanical issue with my surface scrubber. It is awesome to have someone with the experience he has available for phone calls. I only wish I had called him as soon as I noticed the problem, not at the end of the day after the job was completed.
