Sunbright Rip It and Britener
Jhignutt posted a question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Planning on using Sunbright Rip It and Britener this weekend on a deck and was wondering if i need to be careful with anything like vegetation, vinyl railing, vinyl siding, glass, gold kick plate at the bottom of doors, stamped colored concrete. -
I have been use to xjetting and not put much thought into downstreaming but tommorrow i plan on trying it. My situation is a pre paint prep painted cmu block building. My equipment is (2) Hydrotek hot/cold pw @ 5.5 gpm 3000 psi. Im thinking 12% shc and TSP. What kind of ratios would you downstreamers suggest?

I'm a believer!!!!!!!!!!1

How are you guys rinsing after downstreaming? Still using the xjet for that part? -
Labor SF. Rate for Cleaning Wood Surfaces
Jhignutt posted a question in Wood Cleaning & Restoration - Decks, Fences, etc.
Im trying to get a ballpark labor rate for cleaning and stripping wood per sf. of area? I know it varies on location but just somewhere to start. -
Which is the best peice of equipment to use when applying sealer or stain to a deck a Deckster or a Shurflo?

Where do you get the 24' extension pole from?

I was wondering has anyone tried to foam gutters with gutter grenade or gutter shock. Just looking to an alternative to brushing and not allowing the soap to dry on the gutters and having to reapply.

Best Method to Remove Loose Paint
Jhignutt replied to Jhignutt's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Since this is pretty much a normal wash i guess normal price as well. Hey Jeff sorry i don't have any pictures but it is cinder block that is painted. John when you say turbo nozzle suppose I dont have one but i do have a m5 nozzle. Will this do the trick? What about the yellow tip? -
Had a call from a painting contractor today to pressure wash an existing building to prep for paint. Of course they need it done right away which puts me in a bind if i need to order any chemicals to remove. So my question is can i get away with not using any chemicals and just use the pressure and hotwater. I have a couple tips i can try to remove the loose paint from the block but appreciate any suggestions thanks.

Any suggestions on high pressure or low pressure reels. I am thinking of going with a hannay reel but feel free to chime in any pros and cons are certainly welcome. Also are there any real advantages over stainless steel models compared to those that maybe painted or powdercoated i guess my question is is it worth the money.

The respirator is from lowes not sure what make and model it is paid $40 for it and it came with cartridges already installed. The choking and vomiting has never happened with the respirator it just begins out of the blue I just used the respirator this past weekend trying to lessen the harmful effects these chemicals may have on my body. You guys maybe right it may not be the SH but something else I am using I just began with that since its the strongest chemical I use. The way I apply the chemicals is with the xjet with no proportioner no downstreaming.

Thanks for the responses. My mixture normally consists of 1 gal. of SH w/ 1 gal. of E-plus and 3 gallons of water to wash houses.

Hope this dosen't gross anyone out just wondering if anyone else has the same effects or problems. I am in perfect health as far as I know I am 26 years old so I'm young you can't use that against me. I powerwash pretty much every Saturday b/c I work for a large architectural firm as a designer 40 hours a week. I am beginning to wonder about my health because I am getting tired of going to the ER and tired of paying these bills only to find out nothing is wrong. So here is my delima it seems like everytime I use 12.5% Sodium Hypochlorite later on that day or evening I have a case of mild heartburn or acid reflux anyone delt with this. I have also been to the emergency room twice now within the last 6 months always getting released only to get the same respone know one seems to have any idea what is wrong. First time i thought my gall bladder had burst. The last time, last week, they thought it was food poisioning. I'm beginning to wonder if Sodium Hypochlorite has something to do with it. I have had three severe occurences now including each time of the above causing me to have to vomit and almost choke to death there has been times when I can't hardly breath it scares the heck out of me. Is anyone else having similar effects or problems please chime in. By the way today I used a respirator hoping to lessen the effects no luck.

Hot water and Generator won't work on my skid
Jhignutt replied to Jhignutt's question in Residential Pressure Washing
Figured it out i think took the belt shrouds off to find the small generator belt torn to shreds. Going to Autozone in the morning for a new belt will see if the generator kicks on tomorrow. -
Do I have to worry about any damage when using the M5 Xjet with chlorine?
