Surface Cleaner Problems
Jhignutt replied to bulletproof's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Dirt, stones anything can clog the tips just use some torch tips to clean both nozzles out. Best way is to take them out so don't press it back in and have to stop again. -
x-jet m-5 #13 or #16 for 4000psi?
Jhignutt replied to bhb1034's question in Residential Pressure Washing
With the M-5 X-jet what kind of stream do you get out of it when you adjust it down is it similar to the regular x-jet just tune down a bit with less pressure hitting the surface. Can you turn it down and get the same thing you would from a 15 degree nozzle so you never have to put a tip in to wash say the foundation, soffit, wood etc.. -
Does anyone know where to buy Winnipeg Plastics & Tool Ltd. bulkhead fittings? Thanks.
-
Well since you ask why there so special i will tell you. I have two bulkhead fittings feeding my two pressure washers now that leak constantly and I am tired of messing with them. The local pressure washing distributor used the ones I am looking for to set up my tank and it never leaked. So instead of using the cheap Tractor Supply type I am going to go with the ones he used on my tank inside of my box truck before I have to replace the wood floor.

I actually did contact them today but they could not think of a distributor right off hand so any leads would be helpful. Thanks.

Does anyone have any idea of how to attach a brush to the extendawand? I was just looking at the coress website and they had this option and it would come in handy for two story or more windows & gutters. Second question if no one has an answer for the first where to buy an extension pole to reach two story or more windows & gutters.

I have a couple of questions for anyone to answer please. I just placed my 525 gallon float tank in the back of my box truck and it seems to sweat/ condensate constantly. Does anyone else have this same problem? Also i drilled two holes for my bulkhead fittings to supply water to the two pressure washers and they seem to be leaking around the EPDM gasket as well any suggestions. As you may realize my wood floor is constantly soaked and you can see water dripping from the box of the truck on the outside. Has anyone used a floor drain or cover there wood floors with Line X or another waterproof material and does this help at all?

I actually called line x today and they told me $7 a square foot I will try rhino liner tomorrow to see what they would charge. Anyone have any ideas on what type of silicone to use around the bulkhead fittings to keep them from leaking. Someone suggested I use regular gasket maker from an automobile place to see if that would work any suggestions.

Before i spend money on getting my machine fix by a mechanic does anyone have any suggestions. Today my employee was using his pw all day and at the end of the day we had issues it had plenty of pressure but when you turn on the dual lance wand for soap nothing it would almost bog down. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

I was wondering if anyone out there carried a cheat sheet to help come up with prices for particular services house, roof, etc. This cheat sheet could have current prices for soap per gallon as well. What do you guys normally charge for a man and a hotwater machine and a man and a cold water machine. Has anyone else had to pay as much as i am for 12.5% i am paying 4.00 a gallon/ 55 gallons.

Today I was cleaning a house that had yellow vinyl siding and old galvanized storm windows on each window. On the vinyl there was a grey stain which looked as if it were coming from the corner of the galvanized storm windows streaking down the siding. Has anyone ran into this problem before and if so what did you use to remove the stain. By the way I tried oxalic acid after brushing a lot and dwelling on the siding it came off but not quick enough for me.

Thanks, Guys.

Equipment exposed to rain...
Jhignutt replied to mikew's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
It should be fine i power washed for 5 or 6 hours in the snow this weekend and had no problems. -
I have asked local vendors and been on the internet and no one has it. Who is supplying it to all who use? What if you use the sticks or tablets is this the same thing just have to break up into small pieces. I hear about it in every thread and just want to have the chance to see what all the hype is about.

Over the past week and weekend i have had 3 people approach me and ask about pressure washing. Everyone of them want to know my prices and how i charge and also want a lesson on how to wash. What do you say to these questions? I have one guy who hasnt got a clue and never washed a day of his life and has come up with the idea he wants to pursue this. His dad is supporting him by buying him a complete setup from another established company in the area. Everyone on here seems to be pleasant asking and answering questions but when there in your backyard what do you say?
