  1. I will try what you advised. I will report back.
  2. I have tried almost everything but my pressure washer keeps shutting off on hot days. Took gas cap off to check for venting..nope..I vented the engine exhaust out of the floor of the trailer and put a fan on the pw...nope...good gas, good oil, no pinches in any lines. How can I check if it is a low oil sensor or broken choke? This is a 18hp Kohler motor on an Allison pressure washer. The unit is only 3 months old and has shut off on me on hot days since new. Once it shuts off I have to wait for 20 minutes before it will start again. It will run for a little while and then keep doing the same thing for the rest of the day. very annoying!!! I have a warranty on the motor so I should not have to doing any work on it but it is close to impossible for the mechanic to duplicate my problem to see the problem, since is only happens on hot days after running for 4-5 hours. What should I do?
  3. Ok- so I am reading through old posts in our forum and one post says one thing and the next says another. Can anyone give it to me straight and clear? What is the most effective and efficient way at removing oxidation from siding.... brushing or no brushing, bleach or no bleach needed, simple cherry or some other house wash, high pressure or low pressure, and so on? I am talking about siding that you rub your fingers across the paint and you come back with white chalk on your fingers. And do the same rules apply to metal or vinyl siding? Thanks to anyone that can lay it out clearly!
  4. I agree. My last couple of questions have been regarding vinyl siding.
  5. James, do you use a two step truck wash for oxidation removal? If so what brand do you like?
  6. Thanks for the heads up, Thad. Is hot water and brushing a must with the Gutter Grenade and oxidation removal from vinyl siding...most of the time?
  7. thanks. I think I'll pass on the metal siding washing because the HO doesn't want to repait, just remove the oxidation.
  8. Ok.Good to know. For the future... using stronger soap like gutter zap, no bleach and brushing is good for oxidized vinyl?
  9. Thanks for the response, Guy. I have my first house with heavy oxidation removal coming up but I wanted to do more research before doing it. No, they are not going to repaint. It is metal. I don't know if it is steel or aluminum. Does this matter? If you rub your finger across the paint it looks much better where your finger mark is.. because of the white chalk that has been removed. I was thinking of using Envirospec emulsifier plus, no bleach, medium water pressure and brushing on one side of the house to see how that looked. What do you think? Should I use stronger soap like the gutter cleaner only on oxidized vinyl siding? Also, is hot water a must have for this process? thanks a ton for your expertise.
  10. simple cherry question

Seth, Are you using over the counter stuff or 15% SH?
  11. This is interesting because I have noticed the choke sliding over - towards the open position - a few times by vibration or something after the engine has been running. It has just moved over 1/4 inch or less towards the open position, but maybe just this little bit of movement is making the engine stall. Is this what was happening on your pw?
  12. This was my theory. How can I confirm that it is a bad low oil mechanism?
  13. No gas line pinches. The gas tank on the skid mount does not seem to have a vent on the cap. Maybe there is a vent somewhere else that I cant see?
  14. The motor keeps shutting off. It will run for a while and start sputtering then shut off.
  15. Oil is fine and no the burner is not on. All doors are open. Maybe a gas line clogged??
  16. I just got my new Allison 5.6gpm skid mount pressure washer. I have a couple of questions on plumbing... 1. The skid's water inlet is 16 inches off the trailer floor and my 550 gallon tank's outlet is near the floor. I am feeding the pw with 1 1/4 inch tubing just to make sure there is plenty of water to the unit. Is this going to be ok with the hose rising up about 15 inches from the tank up to the inlet on the pw? Or do I need to put another bulkhead fitting higher up on the tank so the hose is not going up so much...maybe closer to being level with the pw's inlet ? 2. Should I put a three way valve on the 1 1/4 inch hose that goes from the tank to the pw so that I have a dump capability or should I have a separate bulkhead fitting exiting from the tank for a dump? thanks a lot
  17. thanks for the input. if anyone else can expand on what or how they have their unit plumbed that would be great too.
  18. Hello all to this forum. Just joined. If I don't have my signature or something is incorrect please let me know. My auto detailing business started washing fleets last year and this year is moving into other avenues of pressure washing....such as house washing (BY THE WAY IF ANY OF YOU NEED HELP WITH AUTO DETAILING/BUFFING I WOULD BE HAPPY TO HELP TO SHOW MY GRATITUDE IN HELPING ME GET STARTED WITH THE POWER WASHING SIDE OF MY BUSINESS - SEND ME AN EMAIL OR PM - I know how hard it is to start a business and learn the ropes and having a mentor is vital). As I learn and read many of your posts here I can't find a starting point as to how much bleach to add to the house wash solution. My first product that I have purchased for house washing is Emulsifier Plus because I heard some good things about it and that it is bleach friendly. It recommends a ratio of 50 to 65 to 1 with its solution but I don't know how much bleach to start with. I asked the retailer and they did not have a good answer. I understand that there will be mild, medium and severe cases and the ratio will need to be adjusted from there, but where does one start? If I have a 50 gallon tank that has 50 gallons of water and one gallon of Emulisier Plus how much bleach should I add to start with? I haven't a clue...1 gallon of bleach...is that way too much??? If that starting point does not remove the mold/mildew than should I add more bleach and reapply? To throw one more factor at this question...how do I adjust this ratio if applying with an x-jet? I may just use a 12 volt sprayer and directly apply it to the house but I may also use the x-jet.
  19. Thanks Ace Painting and Doug I will try and give you a call this week to chat a bit.
  20. Marcus, I did not mean a 50 gallon tank but 50 gallons of water with one gallon Emulsifier Plus. So how much percentage of bleach if I am going to directly apply product to house siding is the starting point?
  21. And there is the signature...great
  22. I just added a signature but I don't see it...hmmmm
