Have a 6 month old Cedar Deck that I just spent countless numbers of hours on sanding the failed original stain due to severe mold growth that would not come off easily. Not only was there terrible mold, but it immediately began to peel in spots using a standard deck cleaner so we decided it was a mistake and want to use a different product and color. I have done a bunch of research and came to the conclusion that the TWP 100 series is what I am going to try this time. I have samples of the Natural Cedartone, Pecan, Dark Oak, and Rustic. Frankly, they all look nice compared to the original "orange paint" stain from Sikkens that has turned my life upside down. Anyway, I am possibly interested in mixing 25% of TWP 100 Clear into one of my TWP 100 series colored semi-transparent choices to lighten the intensity a bit but would still keep much of the UV protection by keeping 75% of the pigments. Has anyone ever done this? Any tips? I just love the look of the natural tight knot cedar as it is but still want the 75% of the semi transparent for UV protection. We don't get a lot of sun here in the Seattle area and will also have an awning over the deck when it does get too warm and sunny. Thanks folks... Pat
