  1. This was good thread on soap. The problem is any thing will clean a house in the most part. Its the quality of soap that will suspened the dirt for longer period of times so you can mecanically rinse the area. Hence the name emulsifying plus, The problem is your surfactant is so weak you have a really short dwell. Citra clean has a longer wetting agent so you get more cleaning time or rinse.

So if you have a short dwell you have alot of filler, which everyone knows that the cheapest filler is water, So it cost more to run, since you have a harder surface tension with the more water in you product. This is why water beads cause of the tension in the water molecules. The surfactants releases the tension in the water to make it wetter, so you use less water , time and money.

  2. The last time I answered a thread like this I was deleted out, I will a professional opinion. All the answers have been mentioned, Paul with the most correct answers. The rest with chemical and application.

I still think (my opinion) the x-jet is the best tool for house washes. This house with a helper would take a couple of hours, I mix on location, I throw chemical on two sides. Rinse, move on. Follow the same way everytime.

It may be something like hard water.

Dont throw it out, Tweak something. I dont think we all can be wrong.

  3. I am one of the highest priced p.w. in the area, I still receive at least 50% of my bids.

I gain their trust, than I go through process that I would use. If after that they are still arguing about price. I interupt them and look at there shoes at say " Those are nice shoes". Where did you get them? They say where ever.

Then you have them Hook line and sinker. You make small points about some thing about shoes or what ever. You could have got the shoes cheaper some place else or you wanted a good quality shoe.

But remember that if you pull up and they are driving a yugo or have a pair of kmart shoes on, you wont get them to see your way.

Some times you need to take a hard nose approach, Goods all over the world are sold at different prices and the consumer knows this, some times you need to point it out, p.w. are the same.

Just the other day, I went and bid a hood I told the guy, 550.00 he said, the other guy will do it for 300.00, I simply said why are you calling me!

Kind of rough, but it works, I washed him two days ago. We settled on 500.00 with a smile.

    Confidence works well also.

Selling is a art, keep working on it.

I hope my jibberish helped some one out.

  4. I think Henry hit the nail with the head of the hammer, I am a simply person that killed myself last year to make a few bucks, I have since learned that if I work with better accounts, with less man power, I will come out ahead. Basicly more profitable.

This poses a question how? Every person that posted said how, the plan is the key for it to work.

Becareful, the tax man is watching!

  5. I only have my machine and trailer accually covered on my inland marina, I need to bump that up. When I first started I bought what I needed, and not anymore.

    I pay about 180.00 with a 500.00 deductable.

Thanks, This policy is coming up, with a 450.00 reel since added and the cost of new equipment, It needs to be at least 10,000.00.

  6. I am up over 27,000 and feel that is fair price for what will be involved in a county job. Your head aches and labor will end you up in a looney farm with alot of locations in parks.

I would also go with a good stain, I mean a better stain and try for a 20 % discount for a two year agreement on maintance and at least 40% price cut on a clean and seal in two years.

We can dream or we can sell, lol that would be the sale of the year. Try asking for a nice small sign on each deck with a hundred dollars off for each deck for the sign space.

  7. Rockingham road was where the Drug store was located, Grandma said that when the circus came to town on the rail road, they would march down Rockingham and parade the Elephants, jugglers, clowns and cart the bigger game around.

Did they do that in other smaller towns.

Sorry about the caps I hit by accident, Plus I am sorry about your lose, Right off my truck and in my drive way with full light they stole my ladder, I would like to know how many people took it since it was fiberglass and 35 ft, you know those lazy thieves took at least two people to cart it off.

  9. Fifteen is what I had right. My Grandmother worked in a drug store and her top pay was 4.25 and she retired in 1985 from health problems, she raised four kids on that pay and bought two houses that were in the family for years.

T.vs. I still tell the kids how we only had one t.v. and no remote, heck I thought my name was "channel six boy" for years, I knew I was in trouble when I told my kids to turn off the t.v. and they said we dont have the remote.

I grew up with a hispanic father in a white neighbor hood and let me tell you, I knew what work was since my Father had less then what was mentioned, Saturday was not a day off, it was work day and I mean work for a eight year old boy, I remember Moving cedar blocks all day one day and that was two to your hands we were about done so I lifted one block, I thought he would have came unglued to this day, He told me that I have two hands and you use both hands, wow, how true that spoke to this day
