Okay today I was in Lowes and just happen to be buying Cabots and noticed a man reading Thompsons Water Seal and like the a** hole I am said nicely that that was not a good product and recommened something different and maybe I could take a look at his project, Big Mistake, this guy gave me the 101 on Thompsons and how well it has worked for him anyway I tried to give him my card and he tossed it to the ground and siad What do you know about decks ans walked away, okay I'm no Ken Fenner or Seymore but Damm I think i'm okay. made sense to me. why not roll the deck though, would'nt you have a more uniform look? I prefer to roll and price that way.

Okay I've got some decks to wash and stain, when i look at charging what i think is ok ($1.35per sqft at 240 sqft= 324) that seems high for a deck with no railing or steps. I'm thinking $1 per sq on this on thats 240 and after all is said i make 182 not bad. Ur .02 please.

For the last 10 days I've been talking with the park owner of a manufactuered home site and for 10 days things have been changing, example1.. do 30 homes single and double I gave a discount because of the amount of homes. Now she says there are 9 and expects the same discount, but wants a 1 home demo to see if she likes my work> ahhh thats what pisses me off. 2.. She never returns emails or calls always seems to busy for me..3..wants me to do my inspection in 15-30minutes I want to see if any damage or something i need to document as so i don't get screwed. please reply, I'm thinking of not doing this job.

Ok, did an estimate today and the homes is as follows all vinyal, 2 car attached 2 story and 3 story in rear. Gave my estimate over phone like customer asked and was told another company did it last year for 275 and took 5-6hrs. i agreed to match the price because 1. i'm still marketing myself and 2. can do it in 3hrs 3. need business. So i called this company that said 275 and gave them the specifics and they said right over the phone 350. Now maybe I am not as good at quotes but how in the hell can a compmany give you a price over the phone and not even look at the place? Maybe you veterns can do that but I need to look, what kind of things are on the house? mold mildew fungus whatever. What obstacles are in my way? I'm sure there are more things to consider but Damm. thanks soory for boring yall. please chime in with your .02

IAfter evaluating things I think the price VS the time it will take me to do the home is great, just pissed about having to lower the price to meet the comp, oh well.
