I rearranged my trailer today but now the water tank will not feed the washer. Its a Landa 5gal @ 3500psi skid unit. Attached are some photos of the line into the washer. The water tank outlet sits lower than the intake of the pressure washer by about 6". From other threads I have read, I thought it should pull a suction on the tank and be fed but it doesn't seem to want to pull water. Does the tank have to have a lid on it to create a vacuum? I put a trash bag over the opening but there didn't seem to be any suction on the bag. Besides, I'd imagine that the water in the tank should be keeping the air out of the line. I tried almost everything, even using the chemical line to try to prime the tank but nothing seems to work. It worked before when the outlet was higher than the inlet but now that it is reversed, it doesn't feed. But like I said, I read that it should pull a vacuum and pull the water.

Help with water tank feeding
grizzley replied to grizzley's topic in Tools, Equipment & Basic Maintenance
Thanks guys. I found the problem. The ball valve that selects tank or water source was bad. I just went to Lowes and bought a new one and installed it and bingo... it worked like a champ. Thanks again! -
Just wondering, but after a while some of these floors start to get scratches from normal traffic and look not so new.... How do you return them to a better looking state? Buff them? Apply all new sealant?

Leaf stain in slabs - how to shift?
grizzley replied to Richard Ivy's question in Residential Pressure Washing
stupid question... How do you mix it? 12.5% (1 lb power bag) into how much water? Do you add anything with it (Dawn, etc..)? I invision (1) 1 lb bag mixed with 2 Gallons water and then X-Jet but I really don't know. -
Is there any way to repair a pressure hose that has a hole in it? I think I found something that seems it might work, but I'm just seeing if there is anything else. Also, off subject.... but what is the max length of hose you have used? I run 4000 PSI and around 6 GPM. Thanks!
-
Yes, that is my case. The hose was used about 2 hours and then blew a hole.
-
Do they really work? Are they hard to fix? Are they worth the trouble, time and cost to fix a 50' hose or just buy a new hose?

How much is shipping on that Russ? -
Does anyone have a flyer I can copy for a quick mailing? I am willing to pay for it if it is the source code and it can be edited. I am targeting residential flat work. Or if you know of a good designer please let me know. Thanks

I'm looking for a company that can supply chemicals for "anything I need". I'd really like some that can send samples so that I don't waste money with bad products and shipping. My local distributor pissed me off a little when I asked them to make me something for rust.... they said they can't and hung up the phone as if they were too busy to deal with me. Fine... So, any good distributors that anyone can recommend?

I have a guy that has priced me his LANDA PGDC 16hp Vanguard 5gal @ 3500psi that is about 1 year old with 300 hours on it. He is wanting $2200 for it. I cant find any pricing online for this machine but it seems reasonable. Anyone know about what this machine is new? Or even if this is a good deal? Also, he is giving a 200 foot hose reel, 100 feet 5800psi hose and 200 gallon water tank
-
Hummm... Looking at a pic he sent me, the vanguard engine is black. I thought the newer engines were red. Does anyone know about this color change?
-
Yes, it is hot water. Here is the page from Landa (spec sheet link is also on this page) http://www.landa.com/pages/showProductModels.asp?areaID=1&typeID=1&seriesID=21

I had a local PW that was telling me he got the fax; but trashed it and it was for our local area. Maybe you can send your fax and I could give them a call? -

I didn't get that email or fax.... I get some job notices though. Where did this one come from? Could someone fax me a copy of the letter they sent (or forward the email)? -
I have a Hydrotek SC washer with a General (aftermarket) pump. The pump is a TS1511. I hooked up a pressure guage to the pump the other day and noticed it was only putting out 2200 PSI, and I THOUGHT it was rated at 3500 PSI. Is there an adjustment on these pumps? Or is it plugged up? Or something else?
-
....and if the pressure is good, it is the unloader that is bad. I'll try to do that test tomorrow! By the way, do you have a suggestion on a new unloader? I'm obviously hoping that it's only the unloader.
-
Did that and nothng changed.
-
Well, I tried new nozzles and that didn't seem to work. I guess next I will replace the unloader and hopefully that will fix it. I have noticed lately that when I squeeze the trigger it takes a extra second or two to get pressure at the tip.... I am not sure, but that might be a sign of a worn unloader? Anyone have any suggestions on a good unloader for this pump?
-
Thanks for the reply. I will try some new nozzles and see if that helps. The surface cleaner is new, with new nozzles but it shows about the same pressure. I don't see any leaks anywhere and if it is sucking air on the intake side, I don't hear it or notice it. I think that connection is pretty tight with a brand new o-ring. I have never adjusted the unloader. This is a new pump (about 6 months old). I'll keep my fingers crossed that the new set of nozzles do the trick.

One of my pressure washers is a Craftsman 7 HP 2900 PSI (cold water). I do not use it very often, but when I do, I hook it up to hot water; usually around 120* - 140*. After doing this a few times, the pump is blowing oil out of it. I am going to hazzard a guesss that the hot water has displaced a seal or something which kept the oil inside. First, am I right? Second, is there some type of warm water cup I can add to this washer to allow the use of warm/hot water though it?

Pressure washer water temp

Is there some type of hot water / warm water adapter? I don't want this thread to turn into "WHY ARE YOU..." but, why does it matter if I would hook up to somones hot water?
